Anambra state government signed MOU with Graffil group. Anambra State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Graffil Group for the establishment of an integrated Trailer Terminal and Park at the New Tarzan Park Onitsha. Government House Correspondent Kenechukwu Ofomah who was at the Governor's Lodge Amawbia where the ceremony took place reports that Governor Willie Obiano signed on behalf of the State Government. His story. The MoU with an expected total investment of about 2.64 billion naira, will see the State invest 340 million naira as its equity contribution while the investor will bring 2.3 billion naira. The project which will be executed under a Public Private Partnership Structure with a Special Purpose Vehicle to be known as Anambra State Government Onitsha Park Investment Limited, will include a 105-room hotel, an event Centre, Fuel/Gas Service Station, an Administrative Building, a housing Estate, Bank Cash Centre and a Shopping Emporium. Performing the function, Governor Obiano said the MoU is strategic in the realization of his administration's safer roads. According to him, the first phase of the project, the Trailer Park which is expected to be completed within six months, will be followed by a legislation that will prohibit indiscriminate parking along the roads by trailers which cause accidents and destroy the roads. Governor Obiano who observed that the project has great prospects for improved IGR and job creation for the state, urged the investor to immediately hit the ground running and ensure that the project is delivered on schedule. Earlier while reeling out the details of the Mou, the Chairman of ANSIPPA and Traditional Ruler of Umuoji, Igwe Cyril Enweze, said the project seeks to promote a healthier environment and better organised transportation system with a strategic approach to urban sanitation in the state and reduce the incidents of congestion and disorderly vehicular arrangement on the state's roads. On his part, the President, Grafil Group, Dr Forster Ihejiofor assured of their commitment towards driving project, commending Governor Obiano for his vision in creating the enabling environment that had attracted huge investments into the state. In a vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Engr Frank Offor revealed that the State government had kickstarted the project with site clearing, re-survey and perimeter fencing, adding that the Ministry will follow through the construction phase to ensure that the project is executed in compliance with the project design. 5 Likes 1 Share

Anytime i read goodnews emanating from anambra,i just can't help but cry silently for imo state. Rochas what is our crime in imo state? Are you delibrately purnishing us?where did we go wrong? Owerri is now empty, imolites have started running to awka and neighbouring onitsha! A state that used to be the epicentre of goodnews has degenerated to a level of utter pathos! Imo state is now in doldrums!we are now at the lowest echelon of development, sometimes i feel like indentifying with a local govt in anambra, but i won't give up! #imoneedsadoctor# 40 Likes 5 Shares |

Please we don't need this here. Go and sort out whatever issue you have with your governor or state, not here. Why can't you people allow us to be for once! Just leave us alone. Thank you. [s] evansvenus:[/s] 3 Likes |

This is still in tandem with the Anambra master plan, which is more like Dubai in the making. Let no one come here and start telling me that we cant make Anambra look like Dubai or even better. There is the political will on the side of the governor,we have the human resources,as a people we have the financial capacity,we have the zeal,we are very ambitious,we are focus driven,we are also motivated by the fact that we have a president that classified us as 5%,who are to be marginalized. We did it after the civil war beyond every expectations, our detractors couldnt explain how we got to where we are. Our welly travelled people, the diasporan community,we have vast business connections, our intellectual community, our sports men and women and the entertainment familiy, are now keying into the vision of our able governor. We dont beg for the non existing foriegn investors,we are mobilizing our people from all parts of the world and we are investing greatly at home....Akwa is more like a private development site, everybody is building something in an organise and meticulous way. Yes we can do it!!! #Anambracandoit. 41 Likes 3 Shares |

asha90: My dear, it's one Igbo land, onye a ghala nwanne is our solidarity anthem so if a part is suffering and our brother cries out, it is expected that you show some love while driving home the need to apply whatever solution u may render. Are u now asking the ears to go because the eyes can now see? It's our collective heritage at the end of the day as far as Igboland in its entirety is concerned. 19 Likes |
