Now you came to NL to complain and warned people about thieves at the Computer Village.

It's funny that a thief (you) would come here to warn people against other thieves!

most people who lost tens of thousands to scammers at CV often fall because of small different in price of the scammers and the real dealers in the market.
always buy your phone at any of this companies: Micro Station Ltd, Slot System, Equitoni, 3CHub, Spectrum, His Grace telecom, Finet. with these people, you are sure of getting value for your hard earned money.

As per BORN AND BRED #oshodiBoi, i never thought i'll be scammed by my fellow omo echo...but mhen! Its not as it seemed at all. STREET pass street, i've been victim of (minor) scam on few occasion. first experience was my xpressmusic in 2008 that the memory slot had been panel_beated and less than 15 minutes when i discovered it (though, i've moved to the next street) and went back to show the guy, he said i have to add some money before he can swap another for me, though i protested at first but they sure always win. there are other experiences that i've had too. dont be surprise that OP's phone is with another maga who paid handsome money for it

Re: My Experience In Computer Village, Ikeja Yesterday by tosinjay(m): 1:19am On May 25, 2016
Going to computer village, do not do like one ajebutter or nice person in appearance or expressions. Or if you'll do, just know where you're going and go straight up and get off. If you no transact those street boys will harass, different things can happen, remember me carrying bags after getting stuffs and matching on after a successful transaction and my brother dragging me back to tip one of the guys by the road, for no reason o, was really annoying as i told him, he's doing sme sme that's why they could spot him. Doing fine boy strolling. They will tell you they gon' spoil your fine boy, until things change that's it.

Those phone Repairers at the roadside are a no no, don't deal with them, if you're not smart you'll surely get bitten at any transaction with them. My experience was a symbian phone then but wasn't that bad, just realized that "someone that's begging you to patronize him just mins ago can change it for you the next min".

Hello NL's i really don't know where to post this. but i think the mods should be able to help me with the right location.

This happened to me yesterday 23/05/2016........Ok i happen to have a samsung s4 phone which i planned to swap because of the following issues, bluetooth nd wifi not working, charging port works but instead of charging the phone would be discharging, cos of this, i have to use a desktop to charge, also its boils like hell!, faulty touchpad, little bit cracked screen, all the air gestures are not working, and extremely faulty to the core, with all this problems, my plan was not to spend a dime on the phone again cos have spent quite alot on trial and error engineers(abt 15k) cn u imagine? ....having heard of all what computer villa guys do to people i set out yesterday, to be on a safer side i had it in mind that when i get there i would try and locate a 'jolly just come' in CV that does swap (judging by face sha)with a mind set that i was gonna "chop hin eye" with a phone swap. of course,i was not planning to tell them all the problems it had,(having it in mind that they won't discover all no matter what)......(me sef won form smart)......of course i smart na!...... not knowing that its my own eye tha'ts gonna be 'chopped'. on getting to CV, as usual i met those guys at the entrance, after checking out the one i wanted transact business with.i told him what i wanted, I.E a samsung s5 which i was planning to swap with my s4.

After checking the phone normally, He only noticed like half of the problems.... (maybe cos of the mischief he himself was up to)....he confirmed that he did not have an s5 and that even if i get i would have to part away with alot of money b4 i can aquire it cos of the condition of my phone..... well i did't have much on me so i thought of opting for something lesser.........seeing this, he then brought out a BBZ10, along the line i got interested, tho the phone looked ok.it had some deep shit within which i didn't easily locate wen checkin, maybe its cos of the condition of my phone i didn't check well sha,i don't really know.Though i wanted to take the phone to an engineer to check if there was anything wrong with it, i forgot, maybe this was because of what i had up on my sleeves or his juju was more powerful.....i dont really know....after arguing and debating we agreed to make the swap with "my almost dead s4",balancing him with some money. thinking av outsmarted in my way i hopped off happily........

On putting my "mtn" sim in the phone in another shop where i do get battries i noticed the phone was bringing out "glo" network..... ah mogbe! that was only the beginning....as there was still more to come, extending my check, i opened the back of the phone to check what was wrong, as i did that, about 3 bolts fell out.... yeeeh! aH! na so i won dey cry......giving the phone to another person to check it out, i was told that av been sold a total scrap! omo wetin i fit do? nothing o! cos me sef i know the phone i bin give the guy too sef na problem phone....but i checked this phone nw, i didnt notice anything, he even had a missed call b4 i collected it..... so how come e dey see alien network?.....na who i go aski o?....... the thing wey pain me pass na the raba wey i give ham,,, i wont mention the amount at all cos e still dey pain me........... chai! my hard earned savings!.....
Well my main aim of this post is to tell the public to be VERY careful of this guys in CV, most especially those that don't know about their antiques....tho av bin hearing of their pranks, i believed i would never be a victim of it..... please take extra caution whenever you are in CV, anytime you have to go there you can go with som1 experienced and dont ever do any business with those roadside boys... none of them are to be trusted!.....its better you save up and buy a good cheap phone than having yourself duped.......if you have any experience to share pls do so that people can get more insights on being extremely careful in CV.

For those that want to buy London Used phones in perfect working condition and very neat. I recommend you talk to Hansel of Reference Point 07068399394. Just tell him your budget and what you want. I have done business with him a lot of times and have referred people. The phone would be delivered to your house. Saves you the stress.

I remember buying a phone cheap thinking I was lucky. D guy even washed my head by asking me not to show him d phone before he changes his mnd. Little did I know that d phone had Garri, I mean Eba was d battery. Nothing was real in that clone. Everything was a total demo. I struggled to forgive myself for many months. Even as I type, d memories are making me feel so ashamed of myself. With all my claims of education, I was so outwitted. Its brand new in a shop or nothing now.

Alaba is another one which I even think is worse than Ikeja, if you ever want to get something at ikeja go to the shops so you can get a receipt and always come back if any gbeje happen. I think I get all my stuffs from Affordables shop or some guy named obiwezy on IG (both have IG accounts) so they can't dupe me
in alaba u can b scam anywhere both at shop or on street, I remember when I went to buy my home theater in a shop in alaba, d guy call it 41k, and me and my guy price it to 25k and he later agreed to d prize, when he wanted to issue us receipt, he issue a fake receipt wit fake content on d receipt, d content on d receipt was said dat we only bought a wifi wit no-speakers, unknowing sha we sign d receipt,it was when we wanted to carry d threater dat we were told dat we can only carry d wifi,to cut d story short sha, it later lead to trouble sha because we are 3, later sha his co-shop owners started begging dat we should take a lower-cost threater of 25k, we later sha agreed when d guy refuse to refund d moni, he then now brought-out his original receipt where he hide it, and then wrote d right content, he collect d fake one which is all dis fake receipt sold for 50naira. D excuse given by d guy was dat he hasn't see anybody to patronize his shop for 3months so he has to do dat due to dat fact, even their taskforce we reported him, are also co-thieves, all they were saying his dat we should settle wit him.

With my own experience, I think computer village is a very nice place to do business if only you know your way.

All you need is to get a good referrer and allow your referrer to handle the business deals for you, The point is He will help you to get good product and promise him or her that you will always check by next time. More so, once you're done try to tip him with some cash no matter how small it might be, That will put you on a good book when next you visit.

Remember they are also there to make money and network with people.

So, My advice is that if you don't know anybody in Computer Village, try to make contacts to know who knows who there.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ROADSIDE GUYS!!!

Some might even try to distract you by the gates, by slapping you on your shoulder and telling you that someone is calling you, PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THEM, those are one of their TRICKS, just keep focus and keep going.

Else you might end up regretting listening to them.

All the best.

Brunel:
My experience is one I can never forget.
While still serving, I saved up to get a Blackberry Q5.
I had helped one other person buy and I insisted to the person NEVER to go to computer village but instead to go to a shop. I ensured the person spent extra money in getting the Q5 from a major dealer than from a shop in computer village.
Time to buy my own, I rehearsed every possible outcome. I have never been scammed in all my life and that day wasn't gonna be the first......or so I thought.
I entered major dealers shops with the intention of knowing the exact price of the phone.
What made me enter this shop I will never know. Saw a red Q5 on the table and asked how much it was, they told me and I found out it was about three thousand naira cheaper..........(Brunel three thousand naira cheaper, smh) than the official brand new price in the popular major dealers.
I tested EVERYTHING!!!! every key, every setting, I set up the phone in the shop, charged it up, transferred data with bluetooth, made and received calls, sms......every single thing (I'm sure of this because I had a check list).
After every check, I walked gallantly holding tight to my new investment, the proof to show my alawi savings.
My brothers and sisters, the next day I wan type, I press letter 'v' na 'g' I see. I noticed that the same issue happened with letters 'x,c,b and alt' .......because I had the receipt of the phone as proof of payment and an audio recording I went back to the shop and my ordeal began. I was turned left, right and centre, the man I met even accused me of dropping the phone in water and that I damaged it, I had to show him my old phone that had a broken screen but I still used it. Long and short story, currently I have the fufu sorry phone as a reminder in my museum never to buy from computer village again.
That place is full of fraudsters, it's sad.
*wiping my tears......console me not!!*
this part got me cracking "I walked gallantly holding tight to my new investme"
