Please I need serious advise on what to do with this money as far agriculture is concerned.

I have N500k lying down in my account. I was thinking of going into poultry business but not sure if the the money would be enought for the project.

Poutry bussiness is nice ideal but which of the poutry are you talking about?fish,layer chicken,cookery,broiler,turkey?did you have a land for the project already?

It all depends on what you do presently, what you passion is and how much time to have for your new biz if you intend managing it yourself. Be careful. Everyone one Nairaland is a business man. They all want you to look their side.

Agribusiness is not farming. Its all the other businesses in the produce value chain. Everyone should not be a farmer. That is why we have problems.

Check your schedule, check your market proximity and do some research. What is in demand but in short supply, why is it in short supply, is it sustainable, go and meet people in the business and verify, compare figures and check your passion.

There is no gain in farming if you are not doing it "in volumes". 500k is no money in farming business. It is something in value chain .

Let me explain value chain: let's take beans for example: below are the value chain of beans farming;

Supply of agrochemicals to farmers in rural areas

Agrochemical spraying service

Tractorisation

Rural transport

Mill services

Beans picking, package and marketing

Bean pod waste supply to cow market

Bean flour making
