We’re looking for an administrative assistant.

DUTIES

The duties of JarusHub Administrative Assistant are outlined below:

1. Attending to inquiries by clients and customers both online and offline

2. Exploring online and offline mediums to drive traffic to our portal, JarusHub.com

3. Managing the portal’s Facebook, twitter, Instagram and Nairaland pages/handles

4. Offline and online promotion of JarusHub’s products and services

5. Creating awareness for and sourcing clients for JarusHub Premium Services

6. Coordinating the logistics for events organized by the platform

7. Setting up office for trainings and other events

8. Replying comments and engaging readers on the blog

9. Updating the blog for any relevant information

0. Managing diaries/appointments of management

1. Day to day running of the office

2. Any other duty assigned by the management

QUALIFICATIONS
1. National Diploma (ND) holder is preferred. However, those with higher qualifications may also apply.

2. Proximity to Yaba will be an added advantage.

LOCATION
The Administrative Assistant works from our office at Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos.

WORKING HOURS
Working hours shall be 9am – 4pm Mondays-Fridays. However, we are largely flexible and during off periods, you may not need to come to office at the discretion of the management. There may also be times when you will be required to come to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays, especially when we have training sessions which normally take place on weekends. However, under no circumstances shall we require you to come to work on Sundays before 11am. Where you work on a weekend, you will be given one or two days off in the following week.

PAY
Our pay is N15,000 per month. However, the candidate will benefit a lot from the exposure and learning associated with the job.

hmmm. I am deeply pained when a recruitment drive demands (literally) the best from the candidate in terms of quality of work, efficiency and creativity, depth of professionalism but yet.... N15,000 per month + overtime (without pay) EVERY STARTUP drives employees into the ground to take-off properly. Those employees need to be paid well over N15,000 per month with benefits (Lunch+Healthcare)

Cleaners and Coffee-makers take-home N15,000 per month not an ND graduate (or higher) oga Jarus.. UPGRADE!!

I have seen lots of negative comments here based on this advert posted by my startup, JarusHub, and thought it necessary to make some clarifications, not because it will stop some people from throwing the tantrums, but because I consider it a moral duty to post here:

1, This is a startup that is just getting its footing and sometimes makes as low as N30,000 per month. So you want us to use all our monthly turnover to pay Admin Assistant alone? I thought a company prices its labour based on what it can afford?

2, Our ad clearly states that ND is preferred. How many standard organizations pay more than 20k to ND holders on industrial training? A company I used to work for, an oil company, pays IT 20k. So you want us to pay more than a multi-million dollar company to ND holders?

3, The benefit to the potential canidates goes beyond the money value. We're a career and employability skills development firm. Imagine what a young man or lady working with us will gain by seeing us coach clients for interview, prepare CV/cover for people,teaching in graduate finishing academy. For us, the learning opportunity is more than the monetary reward. The last employee that did the job for us currently works for Access Bank anyway. The one before her is now writing ICAN exams due to the exposure/motivation he got from working with us.

4, We stated that we prefer someone living close to our office in Yaba to minimize transport costs.

5, Most of the duties outlined above are things the Assistant can even do on phone/whatsapp etc. It's not a structured workplace where you're strictly expected to be at your desk by so so time.

All these do not mean 15k is a great salary, but you also need to be fair to us as a small startup that is still finding its feet.

Diamond Bank taht makes billions of Naira annually pays 31k. A startup that is just a small office wants to pay half of what a bank is paying. I think that vindicates us.

No big deal in workload. There are many days thhat he wont even ghave anything to do.

Look, the candidate tends to benefit more from us than what we gain from him/her. Our past employees have used. They learnt from using as stepping stones to better opporunities. He gets trained on interview taking etc, we even encourage and find better jobs for the candidates through our network.

The salary is not fair not OK but it's manageable base on d financial strength of the firm....n also d immeasurable experience the applicant is going to acquire is going to be awesome because of the exposure.......Remember u learn before u earn.... You av to pay a price for it....il advise anybody close to yaba shud apply for it cos it's a one time opportunity......am also an intern in an organization right now ... D pay is not much but d exposure, experience n practical of the work is more than d salary ....

Must you hire someone ? My domestic cleaner earns 40K and works from 8AM to 12NOON Monday to Friday and I still offer her transportation allowance of 2K a week excluding the salary and you want to hire someone to run a blog for 15k. Nawa o
