bidexiii:@chkil An amphibious warfare ship (or landing platform/dock (LPD) ) is a warship employed to land and support ground forces, such as marines, on enemy territory during an amphibious assault.e.g when kenya soldiers made an amphibious landing on the shores of kismayo ,somalia or the brits during the Falkland war with Argentine landing on Port San Carlos |

africaken254: yes i know , the san giorgio class are LPDs and this "kalaat beni abbes" is an enlarged and improved version of the San Giorgio with better weapons and anti air , EW capacity and radar, the official name in algerian marine for this ship is "BDSL Kalaat Beni Abbes" (from the french Bâtiment de Débarquement et de Soutien Logistique) , in english " Landing and Logistical Support Vessel [Kalâat Beni Abbes] " so algerian navy can use it many ways addtional to it's standard role of LPD , look for exemple the pic below of the capacity of it's EMPAR AESA 3D radar 300 miles range ( 500 km) , like a marine AWACS 1 Like

SA Navy Forging ahead with Demostic development of Electronic Warfare Systems An interesting overview of Active Off-Board Decoy sea trials was provided by Lleon Downes of the Institute for Maritime Technology (IMT). With guidance from the SA Navy, IMT managed a technology research programme which developed a concept demonstrator for an Active Off-Board Decoy for use as a self-protection system against Anti-Ship Missiles (ASMs). Used to seduce an incoming ASM away from its intended target by active radiation, Active Off-Board Decoys in military service are generally very expensive and limited to one-time use. 10 Countries With The Fastest Growing Militaries Military spending in the United States totaled $596 billion in 2015, far and away the largest annual military expenditure in the world at nearly three times that of second-place China. While the U.S. military will likely not be outspent any time soon, American defense spending has declined each year since its most recent peak in 2010. Meanwhile, a number of other countries have substantially increased their military budgets in recent years. 8.kenya read more http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/countries-fastest-growing-militaries_us_57110cebe4b0018f9cb9d472?utm_content=buffer602fe&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer 2 Likes |

africaken254: You are misunderstanding me. What am saying is that everything about it is basic/normal, except if you are saying the pickup was produced/assembled in Kenya. Nothing about it is customised. Maybe the siren sha. |
