1/ “Tough times will soon be over,” @MBuhari declared during his 2016 Workers Day address to Nigerians.

2/ These are tough times indeed for Africa’s largest economy

3/ A quick scan through key economic indicators show steep declines in GDP growth, oil production and revenues over the past 12 months,..

4/ ...whereas inflation rates have risen by a whopping 4.5% in the same time period.

5/ The country’s over-dependence on oil has been chastised for decades and now with oil prices declining,

6/ #Nigeria cannot generate enough income to invest in new oil fields and other critical areas of the economy

7/ Unfortunately, the bad news does not end with the state of the economy.

8/ #Nigeria is suffering serious socio-political challenges with the government facing crisis situations in various quarters.

9/ Whilst @MBuhari has been quick to engage key issues like corruption and the #BokoHaram insurgency,

10/ other areas have been left to spiral out of control – from farmer-herdsmen clashes in the Middle-belt states,

11/ and Niger Delta militant attacks in the oil producing states and tomato crops annihilation by disease in the core Northern states.

We hope that the report can inspire policy makers to make relevant adjustment and allocate resources towards areas of serious concern. HOPE IS ALL WE HAVE, WE ARE AT THE MERCY OF LIONS LEFT WITH A YOUNG CALF, HOPING THE LIONS WILL TURN THE OTHER WAY AND MOVE ON.....WE NEED PRAYERS!!!
