Many of the phone review we see daily are all about the technical and often confusing details of the phone that sometimes we do not know what we are looking for. Who Octa core, Antutu benchmark etc don epp??

So today, let me in a layman language break down the itel 1551 Smartphone to all non tech fans.
Options for affordable phablets in the phone market are very scarce. Most manufacturers target ‘big phones’ to the mid-range and high end audience, ignoring the mass (low end) market. With the current situation of the country and how hard the economy is, it1551 is a new big phone from itel targeting those who desire a good Smartphone without putting a whole in their pocket.

The itel 1551 was announced last month via itel's Facebook page. It has similar specifications to its predecessor, the it1507 but the it1551 is not just a bigger build of the it1507, it comes with more power thanks to the built-in Quad-core processor, offers a better display in a bigger screen and flash charge feature.

The Design:
itel 1551 has a premium look and feel to it. This has a lot to do with the metal textured finishing on the back and side frames. itel 1551 is also available in Silver and Champagne Gold.
The body is smooth, but it grips well with your hand. Despite the large screen, one hand use of the phablet is possible for most of the time. However, like most large phones you will have to call your second hand to action some of the time.

Display:
The itel 1551 has a 5.5-inch IPS Display boasts high precision processing, glare prevention and minimizing distance between screen and glass. I completely agree with all these and pronounce them true.

Camera:
In this 21st century, a Smartphone without camera is considered a useless granny's phone. So it is important I state that the itel 1551 comes with 8.0 and 2MP dual flashlight camera capable of taking great pictures. It also has geo-tagging feature, face detection and a dedicated LED flashlight just below the camera for taking pictures in low light areas. Young people that enjoy cinema or evening outings should find this to be a great feature.

The Performance:
The itel 1551 has excellent processor speed. I did not notice lags or delays as everything runs smoothly. I tested with two games. Dead Trigger 2; which is the second version of the hugely popular HD zombie-slaying game. Also played Fast and Furious 6 and both games despite being heavy android games were seamless. YouTube streaming was cool as well.

Connectivity and Sensor:
The itel 1551 is equipped with a dual band WiFi 802.11 n/b/g/ wireless chip for those that love to connect their devices to wireless networks. Also, it has option to turn your phone to a wireless router; hence it has the Hotspot feature. Furthermore, it will bring peace of mind to many of us who are always on the road to know that this device also supports USB OTG.

Fast Charge:
The most important improvement in this it1551 is the fast charge feature. I was able to charge the phone from 8% to 52% in just over 10 minutes. Meaning for a 10 minutes charge, you can talk for over 2 hours.

Price Tag:
After reading through the features of this phone and considering the high dollar rate, I know many people would be thinking this phone would be selling for over ₦32,000. But guess what, this phablet with these many juicy specifications is available for purchase for only ₦20,000.

Conclusion:
The itel 1551 is the ultimate in affordable phablets. It offers all the good stuff you should expect from a phablet.
It sports a large and bright 5.5-inch display that is great for watching movies, browsing the web, or your other work personal stuff. It comes with a powerful processor that ensures everything runs smoothly and a fast charging ability that let you recharge your battery in minutes.

For a phone having all these features and available for just ₦20,000 isn't this price a good value for money?

Well, from personal experience, Konga is usually cheaper. If not for anything, they are a Nigerian company and we should support 9ja. #BuyNaijaToGrowNaira

Quad-core, clocked at 1.3GHz.
Did not want to add all that, so as to reduce the technical aspect.
