INTRODUCING carreport.com.ng is a not for profit community service outfit which seeks to eliminate, eradicate or reduce to the barest minimum the ability of people to sell stolen vehicles here in Nigeria. WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO Thousands of cars are stolen every year here in Nigeria which are later resold in the Nigerian Car Market as either Tokunmbo (Direct Belgium) or as second handed vehicles. Unsuspecting members of public buy such vehicles (sometimes knowingly) as Tokumbo or second handed vehicles. OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 1. To minimize to the barest minimum and possibly eliminate the ability to sell (re-sell) stolen vehicles here in Nigeria. 2. To ensure that all stolen vehicles are reported and properly document electronically. 3. To help members of public who wish to purchase cars here in Nigeria carry out a proper search on the status of the vehicle online before paying. 4. To make sure innocent people don’t fall victim and lose their hard earned money due to the fact that they bought a vehicle reported stolen. carreport.com.ng is currently populating our database with records of stolen vehicles in Nigeria. We are calling on members of the public who have had their car or a friend or a relations car stolen to visit our site www.carreport.com.ng and document it electronically so as to make it difficult to re-sell such cars here in Nigeria. IT’S ABSOLUTELY FREE THINGS YOU NEED TO FILL OUT OUR FORMS: 1. A Certified true copy of Police report from the Nigerian Police 2. Phone Nr to contact if an inquiry is made on the car. 3. Valid e-mail address (as communication shall be by e-mails only) 4. VIN: The VIN (usually called Chassis number here in Nigeria) is a unique 17 digit alphanumeric code which is particular to one car as in no too cars have the same two VIN. 5. Other information eg (Your Name; make, model, engine nr and plate nr of the car; location where theft occurred; etc) WHY YOU SHOULD REPORT EVEN IF IT WAS A LONG TIME AGO: Car was stolen 6. 7 or 8 years ago, it doesn’t matter just report its free and just incase the current owner wishes to re-sell to another person it will turn up as stolen. 2 Likes

Statistics has shown that 85%-90% of stolen vehicles in Nigeria and 60% of vehicles stolen in West Africa are re-sold here in Nigeria either wholly (Direct Belgium or as Tokumbo) or in parts, which implies that Nigeria is a lucrative Market for stolen cars. Let us all join hands and end the market. Report stolen vehicles to the Police and also fill out our form so we can have it documented in our data base and we shall notify all potential buyers that the car is stolen. hardywaltz: Sorry for not replying immediately I was given a 48hrs ban by Nairaland mods. Yes you a scanned certified true copy of police report from the Nigerian Police, the reason is 1. carreport.com.ng is not a law enforcement agency. 2. carreport.com.ng insists that all cases of car theft should first be reported to the police before filling out our forms. 3. Most importantly we don't want people to report other people's car stolen just to spite them. Contact us on info@carreport.com.ng 1 Like |

Do you know that not all states in Nigeria have autoreg® vehicle licenses? Which means any stolen vehicle could easily be registered in those states for several years before finally re-registering it on autoreg®. Fill out our forms so we can make sure that they can’t register your car. Log on to: www.carreport.com.ng ITS FREE 1 Like

Our studies have revealed that the recent surge in car theft is due to the high exchange rate between the Naira and the Dollar and the dwindling purchasing power has made importation of car very expensive and above the reach of middle income earners. Statistics has shown that 85%-90% of stolen vehicles in Nigeria and 60% of vehicles stolen in neighboring African countries are re-sold here in Nigeria either wholly(Direct Belgium or as Tokumbo) or in parts, which implies that Nigeria is a lucrative Market for stolen cars. Some unscrupulous Car dealers are now in the habit of mixing stolen cars with imported cars and selling them off to unsuspecting customers. This is why we are encouraging people to report their stolen cars so we do upload it to our data base (ITS ABSOLUTELY FREE) and make sure the public is notified that the car they wish to purchase is stolen. This will, on the long run discourage car theft if there is no market to sell it.
