Military Invasion Of Gbaramatu Kingdom Unacceptable- NDYF by Nobody: 6:14am On May 29, 2016
ABUJA-YOUTH under the auspices of Niger Delta Youth Development, NDYF, yesterday, said military invasion of Gbaramatu Kingdom was unacceptable.

This was contained in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, NDYF, Comr. Zinami Iwariso, where he described the action as gross violation of the fundamental human rights of the people in the area.

Iwariso also described the situation as pure harassment and sheer oppression of the Niger Delta people despite the military’s reason to search for members of the new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers and former militant leader, Government Ekpemopolo.

The statement reads in part: “On the 28th day of May 2016 the people of Gbamaranmatu woke up to the invasion of their community by the Nigerian Military. The Nigerian Military through the Nigerian Army invaded the peaceful Kingdom of Gbaramantu sometime in the early hours of the day between 8 a.m and 9 a.m.

“The Niger Delta Youth Forum (NDYF) has called the invasion of Gbaramatu Kingdom as an act of impunity. The use of a blitzkrieg in the Kingdom and indeed in the Niger Delta is against the rules of engagement of the Nigerian Military, and thus must be abolished.

“The concocted reason given for this invasion is the alleged search for Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and the Niger Delta Avengers however the Nigerian Army in their usual style when it comes to the Niger Delta, resorted to harassment, intimidation and brutalisation of innocent people of the Community.

“Brutalising and humiliating the good people of the Niger Delta will not solve the challenges of Nigeria but rather culminate in further crippling the Nation’s economy and generate fathomless problems. The military ought to protect lives and properties, not to kill innocent civilians.

“We unequivocally state here that the ugly method and tactics employed by the Military is against all ethics and rules of engagement of any sort of Military operation. We further state that the act of the Nigerian Military is against the 1999 Constitution and Africa Charter on Human and People’s Rights that guarantees inalienable rights to all persons.”

According to the group Tompolo remains an individual and the Niger Delta Avengers are out at sea, and it will a form of cluelessness, whereby a particularly Gbaramatu Kingdom has been brought under unnecessary victimisation, which innocent persons were abused of their legitimate rights and also maltreated in some cases in the name of the military’s “supposed search”.

“Therefore, we call on the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, to call the military to order and stop the endless harassment, intimidation, invasion, massacre and destroying of properties worth billions of Naira in search of Tompolo and the so-called Niger Delta Avengers in Gbaranmatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, and indeed within and around the environs of the Niger Delta
Region or face petitions for war crimes against Humanity.

“Also we wish to remind the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces that when the Leaders of Boko Haram (Shekau and Kabiru Sokoto) were been hunted by previous administration, they never resorted to harassing and assaulting members of their communities. On this note, we urge that precedent be followed”, the statement added.

Buhari brought this current insurgency upon himself. If he thinks going after the community would stop the bombings then I am very sorry for him,he will learn in a very hard way

So Buhari really expected Tompolo to give himself up for slaughter after the president told everyone that the courts as useless by disobeying court orders, not once, not twice, not even thrice.

Buhari sounds like a joker!

The Nigerian army is a bunch of clueless and cowardice lot! They very well knows that the real culprits can't be in that kingdom, but to show their master that they're working, they went in to harrass and beat up innocent people!

NA should be brave enough to go into the creeks and face their match! Let them leave those defenseless people alone!

As usual, the Ugandans would be the ones making the loudest noise. What the hell were people thinking with all the wanton sabotage of national assets??

You know, I feel sorry for these people. They seem not to have learnt anything from what happened in the NE.

When BH started their campaign, the people paid lip service to them because they thought their activities spite the then president, painting him in bad light. They kept quiet because the president "no be their pikin". Eventually, they themselves paid the ultimate price with their lives and properties when the government thought she had had enough and when BH started taking random targets.

Make una dey repeat the same mistake because the president no be "una pikin" una hear. Day go soon break for una eyes.

A child that want to play with sand must made sure his eyes and body is covered, so that he may not end up crying of the hurts the sand caused to his eye.
it's only a fool that his house is on fire and keeps on clapping and chasing rats while his house got burn and later has nowhere to go. it's easier to beat the drum of war but very difficult to stop it. For some of us who has lost properties and love one's in crisis, we live with the memory and pains for ever. I know that eyes that cry can see road. better be warned than to be sorry. thanks brethren as was start to live in #peacenotwar. dalongjnr 2016.

No. The greatest mistake was watching while a thief squander our common wealth, sharing it among his kinsmen' and friends. We corrected that mistake last year by voting him out, all these militancy he sponsored to disrupt his criminal investigations won't work.

It only seem to be working now, with time, we will win the war.

600,000 barrels multiplied by $50 at the exchange rate of 350. Calculate and see what Nigeria loose early this morning.

Chai, I dey pity the dullard. He must be battling with frustration & depression at the same time. He cant arrest the Avengers. He cant stop the bombings. He cant kill innocent people & go scot free. Finally, Nigerians are blaming him! A wise man will use the opportunity to implement the confab report & grant resource control with a caveat that oil producing states should pay a certain percentage as tax to the centre, but we know that Buhari is far from being a wise leader, even when he knows he cant triumph with the use of force, he will still continue in his foolhardiness & the masses will be the ones to suffer it.
