Wow. Who are you? Men you know your game. You listed classic tens but what impressed me are two men who did not get the respect they deserve. Many will not put them in their list but they were real great tens and dribblers.

Dhorasoo (In my former street, we nicknamed him Jay Jay) and Recoba who to me is also among the greatest players and dribblers of the game.

Much Respect Man.

Hmm interesting

And there are still more
some I didn't mention like Dragan Stojkovic aka 'Piksi'
super talent!!!!

He (Piksi) and Savicevic where the back bone of the dreaded Red Star Belgrade team that terrorised Europe and won UCL in the early 90's

As for Savicevic
HE IS THE MOST NATURAL BORN DRIBBLER TO EVER PLAY THE GAME OF FOOTBALL
this man can dribble a nation if by chance he has the required energy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piksi, Savicevic and Prosineski were the pivot in the talented Yugoslavian team that stunned the world in the early 90's before the country disintegrated into Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia (i think)

Eastern Europe do produce some superb sublime talent even recent yrs eg: Rosicky, Hleb (plays similar to Prosineski)

Savicevic was brought to AC Milan to replace Donadoni (skillful Italian midfielder)
but injuries cut his career short

Roberto Baggio was I think brought in to help the situation but got injured too
(series A was brutal men!)

Boban was brought in
He lasted but still got injured latter

Dooharzzu was a genius who things didn't just work out for

As for Recoba
In the words of Ronaldo de Lima
"that guy could easily win the worlds best if he wants to"
that's how good that man was

90's/early 2000's has the best collection of natural born talents in football history

Most of the top players
were at the same level
WORLD CLASS!!!

I guess Mikel is too good too cos he plays for Chelsea! Players like Djemba Djemba were very good too cos he played for Man U. Someone like Pele according to you, is not good enough cos he never played for any big club in Europe.

Just keep typing and posting rubbish!

Djemba djemba cud b a flop but a big team like man utd so potentials in him and signed him but it turned out to b a flop which normal in life....so tell me y big teams never signed him...pele won trophies tell me what ur. JJ won during his playin career...
Lastly u mentioned almighty MIKEL,mind u mikel has played UCL final twice, europa cup final once,FA cup finals, capital cup final, community shield cup,he has won EPL, won africa nations cup, played in u20 fifa world cup, etc mikel and okocha are not in d same class any world class coach will prefer a mikel to okocha anyday #fact. Lecture me on d achievement of ur almighty JJ during his playin time.....

There is a big difference btw bn d best dribbler and bn d best player.....so if u are talking abt bn d best and most talented dribbler in d world no doubt that is okocha but talkin abt bn a complete good player then okocha is not in d league.....unless u tell me that a student that is asked to repeat a class but with d best handwritting should be called the best student?

U judge a good player by his club achievements? By his trophies? Even if he sits on the bench? Okocho didnt play in a big club cos he never wanted to sit on the bench like Mikel does. That was the reason he left PSG for Bolton cos the coach was struggling to play him and Ronaldinho.

If you re talking of a decorated player, u can talk of Mikel. But Okocha is a very good player any day. He has better vision than Mikel, better pass accuracy. Plays and scores with both feet. Has better shot accuracy than Mikel, scores free kicks, and can change a game single handedly. I can assure you no serious coach would see a player with such skills and abilities and choose a player with many trophies which are results of his team mates efforts.

Maybe u re just a fan of statistic and trophies, but any lover of pure football would love Okocha. He's among the top 100 best players of all time, according to Pele. And He's got trophies too.

You are lucky to witness a lot of the great players of the past. I heard of the Yugoslav team which had Prosinecki who was the best player of the World Youth Championship.

They were part of the Croatian team of France '98.

Why I admired your list is because it deviated from the popular demand stars like Figo, Rivaldo, Ronaldo De Lima, Michael Laudrup.

Impressed. I started following club football from 1998 passionately so I witnessed most of these great players. Recoba is definitely in my top five players.

Great era of football. Football today lack artistry of those guys. Men like Giggs and Overmars who could tear players down the left all night.

My favorite sha, is a popular demand player. Diego Maradona.

Stills shocked you know Dhorasoo. Very few acknowledge his massive gift. Watched lots of him at Olympique Lyon.

Please, one question.

Was Etim Esin as good as Recoba? That is, from what you saw. Not based on media rating.

I only watched Etim Esin once and that was when Coach Monday Sinclair coached Eagle Cement that later became Dolphins FC and Etim Esin was amazing. Although, he was long past his prime. That was around 2000.

Did mikel sat on bench in d matched I listed? Ofcus NO. He played a major roles and that was why d coach left him on d field of play for whole duration of the match....mikel played a major role when nigeria lifted the nation's cup compared to d role okocha play wen big won the nations cup in 1994....yes okocha can singlehandly change a game negatively eg nig ve denmark in world cup....u are yet to give me reasons y world class coach never deemed it fit to sign okocha during d same period big teams were signin kanu, eto, emenike, amokachi, weah etc.....ok u thnik manutd and chelsea are fools to be so much interested in having d service of mikel....bn a world class player is not about dribbling,u talk of accurate passes then u don't know mikel, talk abt team spirit mikel is head also....mikel was not just in a big team that won trophies alone he played active roles for his team to lift d trophies.nigerians keep talking about okocha scoring free kicks pls ask ursef okocha statistics in scoring free kicks. Yes okocha is world most talented dribbler but not a world classs player.......pls just tell me y world class team and coach never signed him but signed d likes of kanu........

I guess you don't consider PSG and Ferrnabache as big clubs. Maybe you take time to read Okocha's wikipedia page. By the way the point of argument is about Okocha being a very good player. You judge a good player by the quality of football he delivers and not how many trophies he has won. How technical and tactical he is.

You mentioned his statistics in scoring free kick, I believe u can't mention that for Mikel. Cos he has never scored one.

I am surprised u mentioned amokachi and amuneke. How many so called world class club did amokachi play for. U might say amuneke played for Barcelona, how many appearances did he get?

Maybe u don't get my point or maybe you choose not to. But if judge a good player by the number of big clubs he's played for and the number of trophies he's won, then Mikel absolutely better than Maradona!

I've no idea why Jay Jay retired so early. He could easily have played for 5 or 6 more years.

He still has skills but definitely lack the speed to high tempo games. He would have survived in Italian league but he risks being injured because italian leagues has no respect for skill, they play man marking which is different from other European leagues.Okocha endured an under per performance at his later years in Hull city,he knew he could not cope with the required speed and dully called it quit.Okocha remains a legend.

Loved Recoba as well. The first time I watched him was one game where he came in as a sub, created a goal (ironically for Obafemi Martins) and scored the winning goal in injury time. From then, I went back and watched the old inter milan matches my elder bro recorded on vhs. That was how I got to watch peak R9 and found out he was the most skillful striker ever.
Recoba was def my favorite left footed player ever...world class talent but poor mentality.

I'm not old tho
just that I have a good photographic memory

I was lucky to have my football baptism very early in life

Was still a young boy when my fanatic uncle initiated me into the world of football with the Italian 90 final

Could berely see what was going on while watching with my relatives in the palour but could feel their excitement except my uncle cause his idol Maradona lost

That intro was all i needed to become hypnotised

while kids my age then were voltron, superman and the rest, we were fascinated with our serie A and football made in Germany

Can't count the amount of football vhs we had and watched back then

it was crazy!!

Didn't remember watching Etim Esin back then but my uncle always talked about him as the most skillful African player he ever saw play, referring to okocha as an apprentice in comparism

Fransiscoli and Recoba are the most gifted players from Uruguay

Maradona and Franciscoli were the best south American players of the 80's/early 90's

remember Franciscoli is Zidanes idol

I know a lot. Then, it was crazy. France '98, watching Ronald De Boer tear Roberto Carlos repeatedly in the quarter finals was amazing.

I was also a big fan of Mendieta. Mendieta and Claudio Lopes at Valencia were a joy to watch. Especially their demolition of Barcelona in the Champions League.

I was really a 2000s era man. Edgar Davids, Seedorf, Mijatovic, Nedved, Effenberg, Scholes, Beckham, Bergkamp, Kanu, Henry etc.

They were so many gifted players in that era. Valderama who was also a 90's player.

This era is more technical than skillful.

Please desist from such

Mikel of 2005 was a breath of fresh air to Nigerian football. Sad he left all those brilliant touches on his way to Chelsea.

Okocha at that age was maybe the most gifted player with the ball but Mikel 2005 was the smartest.

During the 2005 finals, Maradona was in the stadium. When I watched the game, I screamed repeatedly in my living room. "Maradona, I hope you can see how to play the Ten role." Note, Maradona is my best player of all time.

When it was time for Mikel to receive his Silver Ball award, the commentator said, "The World can see why two of the biggest club in World football is fighting for Mikel's signature."

Comparing Okocha and Mikel is the height of irrationality from any one

Please desist from such

By the way, Okocha vs Spain and Denmark in France '98 was amazing. Few can replicate that. God blessed us with Jay Jay.
