desireeclarke: My opinion, let her apply with all truthfulness. Luckily there is no where in their form that requested for if you have been deported from another country or not. ( I know both countries share criminal informations together) but if her case was not treated as a criminal case , it ll not come up in the interview. But if any question is raised in that direction, she should not hide the fact that she was once deported. If she is upfront and truthful , deportation from another country since 2009 will not give her permanent inadmissibility to the US. 1 Like |

Can someone guide me on what i need to do pls. I live in the US and work as a registered nurse. My sister has a nanny who was very helpful and commited while she was with my sister and her kids. Although she is no more my sister's nanny now, but she still keeps in touch with the family. I knew her very well before leaving for the US too, and she was a very good woman .I plan to invite her over here for like a year to help with my 15 months old son. My dillema are 1, she doesnt have any money in her account at the moment, and i was told the VO will only look at her own account and not mine 2, She is not fluent in english, she speaks pidgin Ever since I told her of my plans for her, she has been fasting and believing God. What can I do to assist in the application process and what does she needs to know as well. Cheers |

Before you invite a nanny from Nigeria, you might want to read the link below. No one will advice you on what you want to do. http://abc13.com/news/katy-couple-accused-of-holding-nanny-hostage-for-years/1192773/ carvone: 1 Like |

carvone:If u want to help her application process, then u have to read the US embassy in Nigeria website. In less than 20 mins u will get al the info u need. However, I can point out some facts from your intentions 1. From the bolded.u intend for her to work on a B visa. That is illegal and not allowed.secondly, a visitor cannot stay more than 6 months legally upon each entry. So u will basically be harbouring a fugitive and an accomplice and placing a mar on your record. 2. What u think is a dilemma? U actually have more. Her ties will be evaluated not just the money in her account.the vo will not ask for or look at the statement. For definition of ties, u can check the prior page 3. Pidgin English/Lack of proficency in English is not an issue. The vos understand pidgin and have interpreters for most of the Nigerian Languages so she could be interviewd in her dialect. So u see that the fasting and prayer is misplaced cos God does not work in illegalities. He dey do em marra pure pure! No corner corner waka. Think about it 3 Likes |

I intend visiting the U.S this December for Christmas, I'm being invited by my uncle and he intends funding the trip (I'll be staying with him all through ). What documents am I to present and expectations (questions ) at the embassy. I'm still a student . |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 11:27am On May 29, 2016 |
Mykcool:Study the us officia website and study the thread. Both questions are answered |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Mykcool(m): 12:19pm On May 29, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere:I'm studying the thread , it's quite long , sorry for my impatience (it's all due to poor network and slow loading time) . I've also read through the US official site as you instructed and I need clarification on the highlighted portion. Since I'm a student and also visiting a relative I therefore fall into both categories, for the bank statement (financial support ) should it be mine or that of my relative I'm going to be staying with?

Hello house. I really need the house experience on this. My wife was issued a B2 visa some weeks back. I have my interview for a B1/B2 visa next week. My situation: My parent filed a US petition for me in 2013 and it normally takes many years before approval. Also, my parents and all my siblings are in the US. I applied for the US visa for my sister's MBA graduation in 2014 but was denied. I now want to go to the US to witness the birth of my first child and also support my wife in the delivery process. I am guessing they would ask me why I have a petition filed for me.... Truly.... I do not know the best response to give in order not to show that I might go and not come back (as wife would also be going). Please house help! Regards, Nupital |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 1:31pm On May 29, 2016 |
nupital:Nobody can feed u a response on why u have a petition filed. If you are asked, you answer with the reason that is true and not a cooked up answer on NL However, I do not believe anybody is going to ask you why a petition was filed for you. The application speaks for itself. Your ties wil be evaluated and the mere fact that u have a petition alone will/should not lead to a denial 1 Like |

@ladyG. We applied for a visit visa (my wife and I) n our interview comes up in abt a week. However I need some clarification. My wife has a sister residing there legally, and we indicated such on the application, though we do not intend going to see her as we have booked a hotel in another state. Would that be an issue? Secondly in situations where one has a sibling there, can one still apply for a non-immigrant visa? Cuz I tot I read somewhere on this thread that someone had her non-immigrant visa request turned down cuz she applied for that instead of an immigrant visa (something like that). 3. Must one always have to go tru the stated poe each time one visits the US thru out the validity of the visa given - cuz there seem to be much emphasis on the poe. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 5:14pm On May 29, 2016 |
ruffp:1. No u mustnt stay with family. 2. No , u mustnt apply for a migrant visa 3 . No , u mustnt end up in the state you stated. I have never done so 1 Like |

cookiejar99:I am of the opinion that since u hav been sent back already, u shouldn't be relying on NL. Nobody here can see your application or authoritatively say you hav done the proper thing now. Cross your I's and dot your T's. It won't take anything from you to call in and have them confirm everything is ok.apart from small airtime |

Good morning guys, Please I need an advice on a certain segment of the Ds-160 form. I want to visit the US in july for a short stay, have written to my employer for an introduction to the consular and also request for my 6 months payslips. The issue now is that, just some few days ago, there was a slight upward review in our salaries and am now confused on what to state as my present income. Should I state the normal salary have been collecting or state the new one that have not yet been paid with? Also, I did like to know, I requested that the introduction letter be addressed to US consular office in Lagos, but from the look of things, I intend booking an appointment with the Abuja office cos Lagos is already booked up for June. Can I take the letter addressed to lagos consular office to Abuja for the interview as part of my supporting docs? |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by slightlyMad(f): 4:03pm On May 30, 2016 |
nupital: i hate to be negative but based on the fact that you stated on your application that you have an immediate relative in the US. you have a 99% chance of not going home with a visa, LGS is one of the strictest embassies. please quote me when you get interviewed |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by tmeeto: 7:33pm On May 30, 2016 |
slightlyMad: I have a similar issue, my interview is next week just wanna spend my christmad holiday in the us and enjoy some shopping discounts. I hav an immigrant petition pending but the person that filled for me has been in Nigeria since. This immigrant petition is giving me cause for concern. VO pls advice us. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by slightlyMad(f): 7:49pm On May 30, 2016 |
tmeeto: if you have an immediate relative in the USA, you wont get a non-immigrant visa. VO here will tell you it is still possible to get it but NO, they will waste your cash and time. post your interview transcript here when you have it and pls quote me |
