fxskye:Has Nigeria been as divided as we have now? Bubu is fighting Ipob, militants and Shiites, the only people Buhari's not fighting are the 4th deadliest terrorists in the world, mobile Boko Haram or Fulani herdsmen if you prefer. |

Cutting off the head is definitely not the cure for headaches! These militants are ruining our land. The massive oil spillage and pollution will take decades to clean up. I wonder what kind of environment we will bequeath to the future generations. Besides, it is pure double standard accusing the multinational companies and the FG of polluting and neglecting our environment because over 75percent of the oil spills are due to militancy and pipeline vandalism. Finally, the so-called Ex militants who became multibillionaires from the largesse of amnesty and contracts have done little or nothing for the region. Eg; Asari Dokubo? Where is he sef? Has investments in Republic of Benin and almost none in the naija delta. Dont be deceived, these present spate of militancy is not about the love of the region/people. It is about a few selfish individual interests in the Niger delta. When their selfish interests are met, they fizzle out and leave the poor masses with a degraded environment. We are our greatest enemy! whats so hard to take in,there? We are 5% and proud. On the other hand, you all are 95% but are on drips, dependent on the 5% for survival, what can be more shameful and shameless? What is hard for you to take is for y'all bogus 95% to prove the might of your bogus size without the minute 5% and let the world see... [/quote] |

mightycrown1:If you really believe the problem currently going on in the Niger Delta can be solved by the might of the NA alone then you're deluded,Yar'adua in his wisdom was able to tackle this issue without resorting to violence and destruction..I submit that Buhari will have to come down from his high horse and dialogue with these people to find a lasting solution or else I dread to imagine the economic implications on our already battered economy.. |

catlova2: In my opinion, that amnesty deal was just a short term fix to a very big problem...and as we can all see, the problem is right back in our faces...we need to find out the root causes of this problem and tackle it from there instead of using superficial means...I only feel for the common pple in the region, who are going through this hardship. I don't support militancy because we all witnessed how Asari and Tompolo got rich off it, and did nothing to help their pple....The federal and state governments haven't lived up to their responsibilities , so I have no sympathy towards them. But until we tackle this problems from the root, it will never go away |

SweetSoup:That's not true, OPEC & indeed all oil producing nations will be happy with what is happening in Nigeria because it will reduce oil supply in the international market & help increase price at our detriment. Countries like Iran, Venezuela, Russia etc will not mind to supply arms to avengers through black market. Even the IOC's will even see the crises as a blessing in disguise! So you see, WE ARE ON OUR OWN!!! |

Buhari was dissapointed he didn't spill enough blood in 2015 election. He came in and vowed that he must spill more blood while in office. The way this man spills blood, you'd wonder if him and his children like Yusuf and Zahra do not bleed. |

tdayof:That was exactly what the ICC was set up for. It was set up to provide consolation for people who may be at the risk of abuse by despots like the one the country is presently grappling with. And you know what? Bubu and his co-travelers in extrajudicial killings and mass murders would definitely keep their appointment with Karma sooner than later. |

lmm4real:Stop decieving yourself, how many "litres" of oil was discovered in Lagos & your so called elsdwhere in Nigeria?? Fact is that Nigeria will continue to depend on the Niger Delta even in the near future. Buhari has just realised how futile it is to depend on the use of force & is now belatedly calling for truce!! |

donbenie: can u please help itemized their demands, that warranted them to be bombing everywhere; harming innocent citizens? thinking that they are harming the people that control the government. now they are killing security agents. so will bombing ,killing security agents and creating tension in the affected communities solve the problems? they said they are powerful than the government, just as their partner in crime bokoharam ones said. but they will be crushed by the military by the grace of God. they are fighting for just their pockets not the masses. if the real war they are beating it drums started they won't wait, they will leave me and u in the mess they caused. they wait for the military for us to know that they are fighting for the masses , not to bomb and ran to hiding causing the locals to be running helter skelter in bushes and forests. dialogue is the solution to every problem only if no party involved did not introduce violence. after bombing u become terrorists and it is not advisable to dialogue with terrorists. the simple approach is to crush them all |

Buhari shouldn't negotiate with them otherwise he is setting a bad precedence for his government. he should declare a full state of emergency in the states affected. draft battalions of soldiers from the army, navy and airforce and roll tanks in the region. give a 24hr curfew for the first one week and a shoot at sight order. let's see who dem born im papa well make e try nonsense na. for those shouting ICC, has ICC arrested Obasanjo who decimated an entire town, Odi during his time? yeye. |

Ioannes:But our resources keep every city in Nigeria afloat. Every state practically waits every month for proceeds from the sale of Niger delta resources. As long as we pay the bills in Nigeria, we have every right to live any where we want. We can remain in our states and use our resources ourselves, the choice is yours. |

It's time for a new approach to ethnic engagement with the government over social, economic and political issues. Threats, blackmails, violent protests will not cut it. Let's disagree to agree for the sake of the black race. Enough of the killings already. |

Re: Nigeria: Security Forces Kill Oil Militants, Separatists-New York Times by Nobody: 7:10pm On May 31, 2016 |
TippyTop: Lol. Nigeria Delta resources. You mean Nigeria's resources? until you secede successfully, the resources belong to every Nigerian. Only an accident of migration made it such that you can claim oil as your resource as if it was your forefathers that put it in the soil. in times past, the West was developed by Cocoa and the North by groundnut. note that these were from the sweat of hardworking people not some accidental resource found in the ground. These same resource were used to prospect for oil that we are all enjoying today. what a pity. they don't teach history anymore in your secondary schools. |
