Kwankwaso: Relocation Of Mile 12 Market Is "Unfair And Unacceptable" by Ikwokrikwo: 4:57pm On May 31, 2016
Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has described the planned relocation of Mile-12 Market, as “unfair and unacceptable.”

He therefore, cautioned Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State from relocating the market or witch-hunting the Hausas, as such move would be inimical and counter productive to the long existing cordial relationship between the two tribes in Lagos and beyond.

Kwankwaso made the remark yesterday, when he stormed Lagos to oversee the repatriation of 40 members of Hausa Community just released from Kirikiri Maximum Prisons.

However, a top state official, who preferred anonymity, said that; ‘’The former governor is only winking in the dark.’’

According to him; ”He has not spoken officially to the governor over the matter, so whatever he says is his personal opinion that carries little weight.’’

The released prisoners, mostly, teenagers were arrested in the wake of the recent violent clash between people of Hausa extraction and the host Yoruba community in Mile 12 area of the state, which led to the closure of the market and later reopening by Ambode following several pleas.

Other influential Northerners had earlier waded into the matter on the need by the governor to have a rethink on the planned relocation of the market.

Kwankwaso, representing Kano Central in the Senate, had earlier met with the Serikin Hausawa, Alhaji Musa Muhammed at his Agege Palace, before he proceeded to address a large Hausa community in Lagos at Capitol Road, Agege.

While urging the Hausa community to be good ambassadors in the state, Kwankwaso urged the state government to accord due respect and friendship to the Hausas in the interest of one Nigeria.

Ambode, over to you.
These northerners sha, they just feel they own this country and the west is supporting this impunity, because they are scared of genocide. Is this how other regions senators go and repatriate prisoners from another region and will av an easy passage on it, simply because our security forces are dominated by the northerners.

Am not from d west, but this is injustice, cos I know they will eventually be released and am sure they planning another attack in Lagos wiv the military on their side. This should go through some legal process. Imagine he came all the way to Lagos to repatriate dem.
Well the yorubas brought it upon demselves, the northerners will always see dem as slaves not as brothers.

Well I hope Ambode will be brave like Fayose and relocate d market, if Kwankwaso has anything wrong with that he should take the matter to court.

One Nigeria indeed.

Huh.
Kwankwaso described the planned relocation as "unfair and unacceptable". What exactly makes it unacceptable, other than his perceived belief that it was borne out of ethnic bias?

So, the governor of a state cannot make such decisions? Not a big surprise, anyway. The country is being run like an estate that belongs to a select few.
His utterance is even enough reason for Ambode to fully relocate the market. If he was thinking of rescinding this decision before now, it would be deemed that he cowered because Kwankwaso opposed him.

We are watching.

Musa Kwankwaso is not in a position to advise the yoruba owners of Lagos State or its yoruba Governor. Until he can trace his family's house in Lagos, he should shut she bleep up and thank the LASG for even giving them half plot of land to trade on.

If this is unacceptable to him or any of his band of murderers, they can use Dangote trucks to carry their cattle and onions back to the North.

This is Lagos, wherever the said market is relocated to,i belief the said traders will still make their sales irrespective. Fact is if the relocation is by due process so be it. Politicians, Norths, South, East and West always trying to score cheap political points whichever way.

BTW wetin make Kwankwaso comot from Kano or Abuja or wherever to come to lag, just to come oversee d release of criminals all in d name of ethnicity and politics should be totally condemned, that is exactly how they normally indirectly encourage criminality. Acts like that should be totally frowned on.

Why won't be unfair? When suddenly, northern governors have interest in Lagos matters? This northerners are full of themselves. They are only interested in only what will favor them irrespective of what effects such would have on others. If you cannot cope with the new policy move your kinsmen all to Kano. Lagos is Yoruba land and we can decide what happens at what time....
