I agree with the op on the blood bath because a yoruba Muslim and hausa Muslim re not the same. Reason is that they dont worship together. That is why yoruba Muslims can't know the full doctrines of the quran like the hausas'

Actually I dnt want to dispute his claim Dat such blood bath is not done in Islam. Reason been Dat I hvn't witnessed it life. What I put down earlier is what I was told by d principal n anoda convert called Mallam Shamsy. But aldsame, let's let d mata lie

It's like a child running away from you,you want to entice him and you took a knife in your left hand, calling him with the right hand, brother, reason nah,d kid go come?simple as that.

If youve lived in the north u wud kno wat hes talking about, being a witness, culture distorts religion exp Islam, the Hausas Muslim ideology is more conc than d yoruba ideology. Infact Hausas sees yoruba Muslims as garbage, so d blood bath is believable

There are bunch of fools here calling themselves graduate. Must u tarnish their religion because they are Northerners? Where in this world will a sane group of people use blood for purification or cleansing in the name of religion as if they are doing money rituals. Where did Islam originated from ? From Nothern Nigeria ? Culture or no culture there must have been mixup in what the principal told the op. Google is your friend and stop this blind argument.

is prophet Mohammed hausa? Or did he come from northern Nigeria, are the so called hausa the first followers of Islam in the world? , saying hausa Muslim differs from yoruba Muslim, how many Quran do Muslim have, if peradventure there happens to be any difference you should know they are different sect in Islam, shite suni and some others, it has nothing to do with tribe as both hausa and yoruba or any other tribes can't claim superiority over another. So Also lets use Christian as an example how many congregation do we have, how many different doctrine do we practice, does it mean that igbo are more Christian than hausa or Yoruba? So the difference you find in the church is determined by the denomination you worship with e.g deeper life, Jehovah's Witness, redeem, with this churches doctrine differs but the Bible remain the same,
So also you should see Islam the Quran is Supreme and what ever the Quran didn't say shouldn't be taking as the yardstick of Islam. I rest my case

Well maybe u re right, i am not a Muslim, that said, islam is a great religion, i respect it a lot even as a xtain i do go to mosque, but thing is pples outlook or understanding and practice of religion is molded by cultural influence as we tend to be more superstitious here than d west not only in islam but in other religions too

. . . . . MY LAST DAYS AT KORE. . . .
Months turned into weeks and weeks into days as d summation of our service approached. Paul was eagerly waiting for the said day but I had mixed feelings about it. "Will I be cleared having missed the National Headcount; What becomes of the one I love when I'm gone ;what next after service?“Those thoughts made my last days uncomfortable and undecided for me. I remember opening a thread here on Nairaland to ask wat would be the likely punishment for those dat missed the headcount.
I got variety of replies mostly dat I hv gotten myself automatic extension. "God have mercy", I prayed silently.

On the day of POP, I dressed up with Paul and headed for the LG for the clearance and issuance of certificate of successful service. Wen we got to geri roundabout, few minutes drive to the LG, we decided to answer the call of nature in a nearby canteen there. Hardly had we started eating than I got a call from the LI asking where we were. We told him Dat we were almost there and he asked us to hasten up Dat dey were waiting for us.
The food stuck in my mouth as I expected the worst. We had to abandon the food, paid off and started rushing to the place via Okada.

When we got there, we saw Dat almost everybody has collected his own certificate and I rushed to the nearby person to ask if they were giving to everybody, including dos Dat missed d Headcount and she said yes. I couldn't believe my ears as I dashed to the office to meet them. When I entered the office, LI just asked me for my name, gave me forms to fill, collected my NYSC ID card and issued my certificate to me! I saw myself in another world! As a matter of fact, I was in cloud nine!
I just rushed outside and started hugging everybody at sight who kept watching me in utter amazement as to whether I have gone nuts. "John KORE, u don high abi? “ Seyi asked as I was all over the place jumping around..

I later joined oda Corp members as we started taking pictures upon pictures for reminiscent purposes and to celebrate a joyous end of service year.
Back home at Kore, it was all tears to all who learnt that kofa jos da kofa Fuus would be leaving. But we had to go. Paul left the next day bn Friday but I couldn't. You know why.... Zainab. She cried profusely and i felt for her. I gave her money but she refused insisting Dat she wud go with me without her people's knowledge. "See me see wahala" I wondered inside me as I was lost in thought as to how I wud get out of that. For 3 good days, I was still there trying to figure out how to run away from her if that is the only way I could escape.
By Sunday night, I was able to convince her to stay back that I wud come back for her. I bought her many things as 'settlement' for a work well done to me. Lol.
I left the next morning been Monday in her company as well as others who have gathered to wish me well.
Truly, there were tears from almost everybody who saw me with my luggage heading to where I wud get bike to Majiya, from there to Kano. I write now with tears remembering that particular incident.

Kore people were gud to me. My employer was gud to me. Thanks also to Zainab and her father who treated me free of charge each time I felt sick in his chemist shop. God will bless all of them for me. Tnks to Umar, Shams, Awillo, Kabiru , Dogo, Abba, Mutara and all my friends who in one way or the other, saw to my successful stay there.

Finally, God bless Zainab. You are a real gem. One in a million. I still remember you. And who knows(I wish we do too), we wud see to to be together for ever.

Finally, thanks to all who have followed me since I started this piece till now it has drawn to a halt. I appreciate u all.

JOHN LOVE YOU
. . . . . . . I. HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT. . . .

OP reading your last update brought back memories, and even tears as I remembered the day I left where I served in Oyo West LGA, Oyo state. That day was the last time I shed tears as I saw my landlord crying as I was leaving. Just like you, every person I met back then made my stay a great one and I'm never gonna forget anyone of them. Thanks for sharing this your wonderful experience with us.
