Guys on this thread, I appreciate you all. Please, I am writing this to get some clarifications. I quite understand that an applicant gets points for his/her highest qualification and this fact made me to send only my M.Sc documents to WES for assessment but a friend told me again that my B.Sc degree too must be assessed in order not to be denied a PR visa in future. Please, is it a must I get the B.Sc assessed to avoid rejection in the future? Or my M.Sc degree is enough since its my highest qualification. I need responses because I'm seriously confused. Thanks everyone. 1 Like |

Hello great people, I have asked before but i have not yet gotten a clear response. IS THERE ANY LAWYER IN THE HOUSE WHO HAS ASSESSED UNIVERSITY DEGREE AND LAW SCHOOL? WHAT WAS IT ASSESSED AS- 1st degree or masters/professional qualification? Thank you. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by debeams: 10:49am On May 30, 2016 |
powermike9999: If you've read earlier post then you'd have seen that the question has been thrashed & treated- especially iphie25's posts. IQAS evaluates as FPD and you don't need Law School Transcript just ur LLB. 1 Like |

Is there anyone who can be of assistance. Hubby spent over a year in India, but currently back in Nigeria. We've been trying to get India pcc. The India embassy in Lagos refused to give us, stating that they only issue to Indians here in Nigeria. They refused to respond to our mails or give a written letter to this effect. Can anyone kindly advice on how to proceed? |

Good day my good people. Please I need some clarifications as regards the process. I have a M.Sc. degree, same as my spouse and my job category falls under O. Now, as regards the degree for assessments, can I on my own forward the transcript or my school has to? Also, can I forward statement of results or it has to be the certificates? Another question is must I forward both my first & second degrees certificates for the assessment? |

Thanks @debeams. What do u mean by FPD. Is dat a bachelors degree or masters equivalent in CIC assesment? debeams: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by greetings(f): 12:04pm On May 30, 2016 |
dawoyo: To your last question, forward only your highest degree. Copy of your statement of results can fly. Only your school/official transcript will be acknowledged, though,in most cases you will have to process it yourself. Goodluck! |

Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Cypha8: 7:45pm On May 30, 2016 |
Uptosomething: Then I guess the option you are looking for would be through the Express Entry Federal Skilled Worker/Provincial Nominee Program depending on your score on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). You may refer to the step-by-step instructions below to familiarize yourself with the process and terminologies. FYI you most likely cannot apply through the CEC route, unless you've lived and worked in Canada?? You can always come back and ask the house for clarifications. Best wishes... EXPRESS ENTRY STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS! (Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program) 1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp AND calculate your CRS score here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp 2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language. How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp 3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp 4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC. 5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points. 6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following: a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count. f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live. 22 Likes 7 Shares |

hallly: Hello, I empathize with you given the stress you've been through. Even Indians find it very difficult to get. Well, CIC requests PCC for countries you've resided for six months and where you're unable to, you must provide evidence the you've made best efforts in getting it. So I advise you document every attempts you have made in getting PCC and attach a well written letter of explanation. 2 Likes |

cynthiaezebaby:1. Yes you can 2.Check cypha8's post its on this same page, gives a breakdown of what to be done. 3. In my opinion express entry entails almost the same process for all professions(excluding med and pharm wt a minor difference in the ECA process) 4. Google ielts it'll take you to their site. ielts buddy is a good practice website, once you've registered ielts provides a 30hr free practice package called road to ielts. Hope this helps. 1 Like |

Thanks Superchi, But would it not pose a problem if I do not have any written response from them denying the PCC request. Because the denial was verbatim. The only proof I have are non replied mails sent to them. superchi: |

The great house, I just finished IELTS/ECA this month. I want to know if its okay to enter the pool for now without spouse's IELTS/WES assessment because she's yet to complete hers Or is it possible to enter the pool alone and upgrade the account later with her IELTS/ECA report. Thanks. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by tundechange: 7:08am On Jun 01, 2016 |
THOP: You can go ahead to enter the pool while you upgrade your account with your spouse's details whenever it ready. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good morning All. I have been following this thread silently and I really appreciate the wealth of information loaded in here....well done guys. I will like some clarifications and advise please.... I was wondering who is in the best position between myself and my husband to be the lead applicant for the express entry application. My husband is a medical doctor with a masters degree. I am a lawyer also with a masters degree but I am not practising law. I work in project management (2years now) I practised law for about a year but I have also worked in customer service and administrative capacity. In total I have about 7years of work experience. Hubby has been working as a doctor for about 7-8years now but he is currently undergoing a residency training programme. I thought it should be the lead applicant since he has had a more consistent work experience...any advise on this will be welcomed please. On the flip side I am thinking it might take longer for us to have the profile ready considering the length of time the foreign medical assessment body takes to assess foreign qualifications....would his masters degree suffice? His area of specialisation for the masters programme is not restricted to medicine as other graduates from biomedical sciences were his classmates so would assessing his masters degree only reduce our points in anyway? Also can anyone advise on time scales of the whole process if my husband is the lead applicant? Doctors in the house please advise. Also I will like to speak to lawyers in the house who have information about legal practise in Canada...I taya for not having a stable professional line....I will like to know how legal practise is in Canada for international graduates or if I should focus on something else. Also which provinces are best for legal practise? I have submitted my WES application before I came across IQAS on this forum...Been waiting to hear from them for about 2months now. They have received my masters degree but for the first degree it says they have received documents but awaiting verification - WES has requested further verification from the issuing institution and is waiting for their response. Please allow time for your institution to respond. WES will proceed with your evaluation as soon as we hear from your institution. Can anyone please advise on what I can do at this stage? This has been the status for about a month now, should I contact my school or just tell WES to go ahead and verify my masters degree only? Thank you for your anticipated support and insights... |
