Some Nigerians are fond of distorting informations to suit their selfish needs. so because FG is commissioning a project in sate, so there is no need to call or invite the Governor of that state.

This thread is unnecessary and meaningless. This looks like an invitation card and not event protocol. Wike was recognised duely at the event though the thunderous roar of Owelle! My people my people! at the mention of Okorocha presence dwarfed Wike's presence.

Governor Nyesom Wike is called up to give his remark, the Rivers people roar loudly their support for their governor. Wike says that the commencement of this project will see to the restoration and the returning of peace, not only to Ogoniland and Rivers state, but indeed within the Niger Delta region. He ends his speech by urging the Rivers people to embrace this new dawn in Ogoniland, stressing that the Rivers state government will do everything to support the restoration that is about to take place.

Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, the minister of transport, is called up to the podium. The crowd loves him and cheers loudly. Amaechi speaks on how UNEP came to Rivers state. He states that this day is truly remarkable in that it shows that Buhari has come to effect real change and in doing that bring growth to the Ogoni people. He ends his speech with informing the people that the Ogoni people have conferred on President Buhari the title of Nene Nwanne.

This is absolute madness on the side of APC. As the chief security officer of the state, Wike should be given the position of the chief host of the event despite political differences.

Where was the name supposed to be on the invite. He is invited like all the other people as well.
Just like Osinbajo name is not on the invite. Amaechi, Police commissioner and other guests are also invited.

But to a large extent the state govt should be involve However u and I know how chaotic the situation have degenerated. Wike may mess up the show.
But am glad he didnt. I respected him for that. Wike knows when to play politics and when to acknowledge good gestures.

My point is this, everything is not politics.. Something like the Ogoni clean-up should be embraced by all. Instead some people are more concerned about scoring political points. Wike was there and was well received. Why is someone bringing up the invitation card. The project is not by Wike, it is by the ministry of Environment.

Quite frankly, i do not care about APC or PDP. I want the country to progress.

Did what exactly?? This is not a state project... The state government was respected and given recognition in the event itself. Wike gave his speech, appreciated the government's effort to clean his state. Why must everything be politicised?
