OP nice analysis.
Don't mind all these jss students turning reason upside down.
Buhari just saved a situation that would have been impossible for black race to handle in a long tome.
Not that anything would have happened to him though.
Those militants did not even know when operatives took over their environments
weeks before the announcement of Buhari's visit.
Lets leave it there

If Buhari visits Ogoniland today and an attempt is made on his life, two things are bound to happen and both leads to only one end. One is to take him out using snipers or whatever and then what? The army will wipe the entire Southeast and South South off the surface of the earth. The army, Air force, Navy and all other security forces will be given a 'shoot at sight order' to keep shelling the entire region until nothing moves again, yes, nothing. The other is to make an attempt on his life and he escapes the assassination plot; either ways, the security agents will still kill everyone and everything. So, who wins?
No matter how it plays out, the northerners will immediately commence ethnic Cleansing against the Millions of southerners in the North and the Southerners will also annihilate the Few northerners in the South and a full scale war that is worse than the Biafra or bokoHaram war will begin. Every ethnic group will take up arm against the other and continue to kill one another till the whole country is littered with corpses. Then the international community will wade into the crisis in the name of quelling the fight and take our oil and lands away from us. Then another round of Colonialization will begin in full gear and the few ones that are lucky to be alive will become slaves to the West. Biafra is lost and One Nigeria is also lost. So, who wins?
Then 60 years from now, one of the few lucky survivors of the war will author a book with the title: 'There was a country' or 'Buhari's visit to Ogoniland: The beginning of the end of Nigeria'; or something like that. Again, who wins?
But after a deep thought, I told myself that Buhari was right to cancel his visit and take the Shame that comes with it. He has clearly demonstrated a rare statesmanship that is worthy of emulation. The Buhari that I know is not worried about his life; he fought in the Biafra war 49 years ago. He is a war General who has seen death on several occasions. He is only concerned about the millions of life that will be wasted because of him as well as the aftermath effect of such bloody situation on the over 170million lives of fellow Nigerians.
Thank you baba for saving our lives. You have just earned yourself the title of 'The father of a new Nigeria! Shame on you Wailers!

all I saw from your nonsensical write-up is hatred for Igbos! If at all Buhari had visited Ogoni land and got killed there, how does Southeast come into it Why do Yorubas love instigating Igbos in everything This calls for some critical thinking.

And nothing would have happened aside killing of some people present in Ogoni land at that moment, army can't extend their madness beyond the remote environment the assassination happened. And if they try, it will spark off a bloody civil war that won't be just between Igbos vs the rest of Nigeria, but a more complex war that will be fought in Southeast, southsouth, southwest, northeast, west and middle belt.

Who will lose All Nigerians!!

So stop spewing thrash, 2016 is not 1967, Igbos are wiser, more advanced and internationally connected now than in 1967, so be warned and stop the war threat againts Igbos! Nonsense!

When some northern youths attacked Goodluck convoy in the north, what happened Buhari did the right thing to save his life and shame, not because he so much love Nigeria than he loves his life

Your mind tell you that if Buhari was killed no life will be spared in SS and SE and that your mind didn't tell you the so called army is already loosing it against NDA? Have you imagined what will happen if Igbos join. One thing will happen, Nigerians will tell themselves the truth-disintegrate.

A wise man would have cancelled the trip just like buhari did to avoid tension and war situation in the region. If buhari went to ogoni and his convoy was targeted, there will be reprisals from the security forces and that useless buffoon called fayose will be among the critics to call him a tyrant if innocent people died like the shiite incident in zaria. Those calling buhari a coward should realize that he just saved them from a possible crisis in their region and besides the president cancelled lagos and senegal trips where there was no threat from any group. What he did is in the interest of the innocent residents. Nigerian government will level the Niger delta if they are pushed to the wall. Forget the oil installations bullshits, air raids will cripple the economy accepted but the government will resort to loans from foreign bodies to sustain it's economy hereby putting millions in further debts and poverty. Fayose is a bastard yoruba man mixed with igbo blood for criticizing buhari on this decision. His mother needs to be questioned

Nonsense, past Presidents of Nigeria were killed and nothing happened. Or is Buhari the first Nigerian President to be killed if something like that had ever happened? Do you think it is only the northerners that have their people in the military? For your information, most northern elite are not happy with Mr. President right now. Do your research well. Such evil plan may even emanate from his people. Most of them are just trying to escape the witch-hunt called fight against corruption by Buhari.

I challenge Northern Nigerians and Yorubas to please declare war today tomorrow against Igbos and Niger Deltas and let's replay the 1967 civil war again in 2016 and see the outcome!

How can a foolish, nonsense idiot even think that any army can wipe out an entire community talk more of a whole tribe and region Even United States military + Russia + Israel can't wipe out Southeast and Southsouth talkless of toothless Nigerian army that have no modern military equipment of their own except the obsolete ones sold to them by other countries.

Biafra, a small region of less than 4 states challenged the whole Nigeria in 1967, and held the war for 2years+ without preparation/training despite United Kingdom, Egypt, etc helping Nigeria. Now think of how the war will be now if such repeats; Southwest, north, middle belt will all feel the burning flames!

So tell your friend to quit threatening war against Igbos and Niger Delta if you people want peace to reign pls!

Because Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen attack unarmed villagers when they are sleeping and not expecting war, and go scold free does not mean that if war breaks out now they will stand the heat from southeast and southsouth! Even though his conclusions might be faulty, but he has a valid point in saying if the president is killed in Ogoniland, he surely wont be the only that would be dying for the next God knows how long, and surely that's the end of Nigeria and many lives. Not to mention people picking arms over night against their neighbours all over Nigeria. Rwanda was a disastrous example of what people can wake up to do to others in the name of ethnicity. You can imagine people starting to kill one another right from the streets, schools and offices. That's what would have happened if they took him out.

Though buhari just reciprocated what jonathan did to show that he loved and treasure the peace of this entity called nigeria by not going to ogoni town. But honestly, his failure to attend is a sign of weakness and failure as a president.
Boko haram said such to jonathan, 'a bloody civilian' but he still went to chibok and came back unscathed.
