Respect. The most unfortunate thing is that these errors were discovered by another contractor who striked out the boards from the pillars.

If I am lucky to get the pictures you'll see the pic of the columns during formwork stage, you'll hardly notice the error because all the blocks were fully covered.

My part of the blame was that I didn't check well enough before approving the casting and no one told me anything.

Sure, it was an oversight but a simple error that can be corrected by reinstalling the column or starting a new one afresh.

Unfortunately, I saw it first here.

He picked on my tiles too and I took him on then settled within minutes. It didn't have to get to mud fight. No need to respond to everything Brabus did wrong except one has The TRUMP disease (illness that makes one respond to everyone who does something wrong).

I think this issues have never been resolved , that is why they keep reappearing on this forum.... FYI Manu people are here to learn and give information. But scammers cannot be allowed to make a mess of the openness of this forum unchallenged.... everyone who reads this thread and gets it that brabus is a cheat is a victory for the integrity of this thread!!!! Would have saved Qc1 millions of Naira and heartache.

If the Bricky tool is used I see no reason why it could not be achieved. You will have that mottar clearance on the sides. The only challenge would be smoothness of the brick itself

Let those who are experts say what could lead to the error if all columns were already in place at foundation stage.

Alhaji Kowope, you see most of these errors can actually be fixed if they catch it on time. But its a disaster when the builder or supervisor na e-warrior. who spend more time online trolling than actually doing what they were paid to do on site.

I agree with you, let us get back to sharing construction advice and tips, but when a skunk walks into the room, you cannot but notice.

I am currently working on some job... Luckily, I will be doing both the structural designs and actual construction. There are some cost saving structural layout method I want to use for this particular duplex, this method involve the use of over hanged beam to have a lower bending moment on the beam.

A complete isolated foundation system where the foundation for the completely framed building will be pad footings without strip to carry foundation walls. The pad will be located at a depth with adequate bearing capacity to carry the building. Foundation columns design as unbrazed columns are then raised up to the grade, which is then linked with grade beam of 300mm wide and 300mm deep. Walls are then raised on these grade beams to have the desire dpc or ground level of 600mm.

This method of pad foundation is more cost effective than the conventional pad and strip footing foundation, it is more structurally sound and also faster.

Let's digress........ Check out the advanced raft foundation to reduce settlement drastically
