There's a British show on the telly called Grand Designs, I believe we've talked about this before. They use many unique building styles on foundations due to the weather situation.

I'm watching one now where they used this foundation moisture wrap.

The least coast has similar build conditions to Europe, mostly, due to weather.

Out here on the best coast, they mostly use textured concrete blocks with no need for the colored bricks.

Like I said earlier the foundation for this particular structure is being designed as raft (although soil test does not conducted but based on normal approach in Lekki environ.However, I personally observed need to raised the level and with the observation of soil textures within the vicinity hence consider a footing for the raft.

Here is the method:
Having allows the filling to settled naturally, we did concrete blinding to received the raft footing (In form of pile cap)the dimension is 900x900 with 16mm on all the required columns has indicated in the structural details. The columns is being married with the raft footing .This process required attention because all the columns need to be carefully align.We filled up after casting of the individual raft footing.

Having compact the filling with machine, we then blind all the trench for proper raft. Our intention is to filled up after casting the ground beam with necessary normal raft foundation approach.

My request above was not about the Fascia issue.... it is about wood Noggins for the entire roof.

"Hardwoods" that are "comparatively light" in weight, to other hardwoods (in whatever size you cut them to).




I also wanted to ask: Since you sawed your roofing wood yourself (to save cost),did you have to buy a LOG of wood (Tree size), a certain size of wood or what? ....and at what cost.

As to the fascia, l am referring to using 2x2 (hardwood) at the EDGES only (where l highlighted in yellow colour).... in place of a continuous flat board.
Truly as you said, it will require more craftmanship-effort (burdensome ) but l am looking at the "weight advantage" if one can surmount the "burden disadvantage".
