Nigerians are funny ! We shout we want true federalism but we turn round to demand the intervention of the President in every local matter ! Don't we have a Governor in Kano State ? Why do we really want ? Why must it be the business of the President of if somebody is murdered in Kano! Murder is not a federal offence rather it is an offence that the Kano State is vested with the power to prosecute ! So why do some people want to make it look like the murder of a hapless woman in Kano by a sadistic man is a federal offence !There are two levels of governmental authorities in the country namely Federal and State . Every matter that the Federal Government has exclusive power over is enumerated in the Exclusive Legislative List of the Constitution such as Defence, aviation , railway , etc . The second legislative list on the Constitution is known as the Concurrent Legislative List . Under this list both the Federal and State Governments have equal stake over every item listed there . Examples are environment, education , agriculture etc . I encourage every Nigerian to purchase a copy of the Constitution and read to know the responsibilities and functions and limits of each and every tier of Government namely the Federal , State and Local Governments . This is will enable us make informed contributions on national discourse such as the killing of a woman in Kano .

Our Nigerian constitution is baseless, useless and stupid. All security in Nigeria is controlled by the Federal government and not state government. Besides, If a citizen is murdered in an event where it may lead to a breach of national security, the federal government should be called to order.
