I suspect that you are either a northerner or a Muslim apologist but I have just one question for you.

What ACTION would be enough for YOU to justify a REACTION to kill a human being who didn't kill or harm anybody?

I am both ( A Muslim and a Northerner ).

I am not justifying what they did and not in support of it, this kind of events have been happening in the North for many decades with this type of jungle justice mated upon the offender, so the only sure way to stop it, is to make those that trigger the reaction to desist from such actions. My call is to condemn both the ACTION and REACTION not only the reaction. So that in future all this can/will be avoided.

Logically, you cannot possibly put her actions on the same plane as theirs by referring to both as barbaric. That she spoke ill of Islam, does not give them the right to murder.

Things that are barbaric , are uncivilized and brutal. What she did was uncivilized, yeah they have no such right, but out here people think otherwise that's why even the authorities tend to tred carefully when dealing with such kind of incidents one miss step and things can escalate and go out of control.

People just like twisting this man's words. When he said people should respect others faith he was also referring to the killers who couldn't respect the victim's faith. It's a two way thing and the respect should be mutual.
My dear am not in PdP or Apc but the president was totally wrong. whose faith was in question here? The killers or the victim? let's call a horse a horse, not a donkey that runs fast!

The christian Religion propagates itself on the premise that any other supreme name aside from Jesus is blasphemy.

The Islam religion propagates itself on the premise that any other supreme name aside from Allah is Blasphemy.

The christians say burning in hell fire is the punishment for such blasphemy.

The Muslims say blasphemy is punishable by death and damanation outside of heaven

The governement comes and says it's own law is supreme and imprisonment or death penalty is the punishment for going against their laws

The agbero on the side of the road says his demands are supreme order of the moment that he corners you and there is penalty of punishment for going against his demands.

Your boss at work is saying his demands are the supreme order of the work day and punishment of sacking or docking of salary will be the penalty for going against the Oga's demands.

Then your mother and Father at home waiting with Koboko, teacher and principal at school waiting with cane to make lashes on your skin.

When all is said and done, you will say Jesua most high and muslims will call you blasphemer. You will say Allah most high and christians will say blasphemer. Hindus will be waiting with their own claim to the name of Krisna.
You will give time to Agbero harassing demands of you along side the road and you will be late to work and endure the punishment of your boss.
You will give your money to the agbero and return home broke only to face the punishment of hungry wife and children at home.

You will ignore the time and money wasting Agbero to honour your your boss's time and your families needs, then agbero will be waiting waiting with punishment for you next time he sees you.

Its a never ending game and the source of bloody wars and societal breakdowns of all sorts.
They are all Zombies oblivious to what they are doing and have no sense or regard for the delicate balance of true human nature.

The mental disease of supremacy and enforcement of ideology. sad

You can judge Buhari from now till next year but to me he couldn't have address the issue much better this. The death of the woman is very unfortunate and I pray that she rest in the peace of the most high. this issue is a wake up call to all and sundry concerning how we manage issues, because left to me the woman could have let the sleeping dog lie by allowing those Hausa guys to do there prayer that won't even last up to 5mins and leave in peace. Hausa people are the most dangerous people in this country especially the uneducated ones because they don't value there own lifes talkless of other peoples life, you can call the Yoruba race a coward race but it's not cowardice because a Yoruba woman/man knows how to tolerate other people and in that instance would have allowed the Hausa guys to do there prayers in peace even if he/she happens to be a Bishop or Pastor God does not even ask us to judge for him. we can never fight for God and that's the more reason why I don't judge people or argue about religion. I can argue on politics but when it comes to religion you will never find me there.

Except the story has other contrasting versions, as this is common with Nigerian stories, telling someone who is performing ablution to move away from the front of one's stall is not blasphemy of any sort. Even if it were blasphemy, was decapitation the only atonement?

This is my response, if anyone asks me. We could allow our masters (those we worship) to avenge themselves on the people that taint their holy names, because they are more powerful than we. I do not think a real Christian believer would resort to beheading a Muslim, even though he or she blasphemes Jesus. The Christian would rather pray for the Muslim. I know that religious beliefs differ, but Islamism does not say that its believers should behead anyone who commits the sin of blasphemy.

No type of vitriol on Buhari, perhaps as a reaction to his statement, can resurrect the woman; however, his statement may be construed as an attempt to justify that inhumane act.

It is true that genocide has become a white collar job for those cold-blooded northern killers who readily avail themselves to the slightest chance. Imagine, that savage mob paraded around, holding the slit head, to the full glare of the public. Such guts, given by whom?

Anyway, RIP

You were attempting to equalize the action and the reaction, as you referred to it, for reasons best known to you, likely due to a shared sanctity. Samuel Iyoriobhe Thomas writes of the beheaded Deeper Life woman in Kano market.

She was a quiet woman. The wife of a
senior pastor in the Deeper Life Bible
Church. She respected people and sold her
goods by the roadside. Her quiet and
respectful demeanor drew customers to her
stall. Then, someone, an unknown enemy,
who might have been uncomfortable with
her shine or ethnicity or religion, peddled a
false rumour that ignited the maddening
mob of religious fanatics against her. It was
said that she blasphemed against Prophet
Mohammed when she humbly asked
Muslims to kindly spare the front of her
shop while they perform ablution with their
kettles. So, they came, ambushed and
beheaded the quiet woman and held her
head aloft. An innocent woman who knew
nothing about the accusations against her.
What a world. What a nation where people
believe rumours hook, line and sinker, and
go a step further to act out debauchery
based on these unsubstantiated rumours.
Believe me, there is hell and in hell, people
who talk about other people in malicious
ways, without substantial (not
circumstantial) evidence of what they are
saying, have a special spot they burn in
there. And there is a God whose anger will
consume the machinations of the wicked.
No matter how righteous you may claim to
be, avoid besmearing people's reputation.
It can lead to something bad happening to
them. And the judgement will come back to
you in mysterious ways, whether you know
what you have done or not. So many
innocent people have been killed by
ignorant mobs in Nigeria. So many
innocent people have been labelled bad by
ignorant mobs in Nigeria. I believe there is
hell and very many people will be thrown in
there, including self-righteous people and
hypocrites. The mind of man is indeed
wicked and it takes very real men to swim
above wickedness and be human,
irrespective of religious beliefs. Honestly, I
think that religion has done more harm
than good to the world. But, we continue to
exist. We continue....

After raping Ese Oruru repeatedly and getting her pregnant, this is the remorse we get. If this was done by a southerner to a Muslim girl, the death toll would be approaching 200 at least.
.
I can see that your ONE NIGERIA is really saving lives,,,,,,,,,,, GOD deliver those who say NO TO RESTRUCTURING NIGERIA, please Lord

Lol, How can you then describe the act of saying to someone that which he do not want to hear.

"Likely due to shared sanctity" Yeah I share same sanctity but I do not equate the Action and Reaction ( as I referred to it) due to that shared sanctity.

It can be called barbaric because to my little knowledge words may have a heavy and a lighter meaning (or simple and complex meanings). Here's a meaning from dictionary.com

barbaric/bɑːˈbarɪk/
adjective
1. savagely cruel.
2. primitive; unsophisticated.

The first meaning is a "heavy meaning" while the second is a lighter one.

This one is from Merriam-webster dictionary

Simple Definition of barbaric
:
of or relating to barbarians
:
very rude or offensive : not polite or proper
:
very cruel

Source: Merriam-Webster's Learner's Dictionary.

So what she said was very rude, offensive, not polite and not proper. So according to this simple definition I am right to equate both the Action and the Reaction as barbaric.

Hmmm I like the way u like taking a walk into someone's mind trying to decipher their hidden thoughts by considering their expressed thoughts, but I admitted they were not right not because "whatever humanity I have left in me reject the idea of their equality", but because I don't believe in " jungle justice", administering justice is the exclusive right of the state not individuals or groups, we have laws ( Both Penal and Sharia codes ) in the North so her penalty should have been decided by one of the courts not by mobs. I still believe both the Action and the Reaction are condemn-able.

Are you aware the common usage for the word "barbaric" is for what you term the "heavy meaning"? I'd also like you to notice the contrast in your statements (bold and red) on that which you first clearly differentiate as heavy and light in meaning, but in the same breathe, soon attempt to equate the two, essentially asserting that the heavy now = the light, and thus, the reaction (heavy) equals the action (light).

So, which is it? Because it cannot be both. Either there is a differentiation between the light and heavy meaning, thereby making them unequal by default, or there isn't.

Hmmm I like the way u try going for a walk into someone's mind trying to decipher their hidden thoughts by considering their expressed thoughts, but I admitted they were not right not because "whatever humanity I have left in me reject the idea of their equality", but because I don't believe in " jungle justice", administering justice is the exclusive right of the state not individuals or groups, we have laws ( Both Penal and Sharia codes ) in the North so her penalty should have been decided by one of the courts not by mobs. So, due process? That's the difference between the mob and yourself? That an authority should've carried out the killing for her actions, and not a mob, or anyone else? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah the common usage is the heavy meaning.

There's no contrast in what I said, they're equal but different in intensity, just like you turning the volume of your Tv set from 10 to may be 100. The difference in intensity will not make them unequal just like the increase in volume of your tv set will not change the audio output you are listening to.

Yea that's the difference btw me and the mob, I don't know if the penalty for her action is a death sentence or not, but I would have agree with whatever the verdict of the court is, be it acquittal, Fine, Imprisonment, death sentence; whatever the law says.

Killing Critics

What is the punishment for insulting Islam or Muhammad?

Under Sharia, those who insult Muhammad or Allah are to be executed. So are those who desecrate the Quran or commit other acts of blasphemy. This tradition began with Muhammad, as recorded in the Hadith and by his biographers. There is also a Quranic basis for it.
Quran

Quran (6:93) - "Who can be more wicked than one who invent a lie against Allah?" If the death penalty is prescribed for lesser crime, then it stands to reason that it should be imposed for the most "wicked".
Quran (33:57) - "Lo! those who malign Allah and His messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter, and has prepared for them the doom of the disdained"

Quran (33:61) - [continues from above] "Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter."
Hadith and Sira

Bukhari (59:369) - This recounts the murder of Ka'b bin al-Ashraf, a Jewish poet who wrote verses about Muslims that Muhammad found insulting. He asked his followers, 'Who will rid me of this man?' and several volunteered. al-Ashraf was stabbed to death while fighting for his life.

Bukhari (3:106) - "The Prophet said, "Do not tell a lie against me for whoever tells a lie against me (intentionally) then he will surely enter the Hell-fire."

Bukhari (4:241) - Those who mocked Muhammad at Mecca were killed after he had retaken the city and asserted his authority.

Sahih Muslim (1801) - "The Messenger of Allah said: Who will kill Ka'b b. Ashraf? He has maligned Allah, the Exalted, and His Messenger"
