Nice experience. Which was your POE?

Wify has a B1/B2 visa and travelled last year for a month, but at that point we were not married. Got married in December and pregnancy comes in January (We thank God). Since she has a valid visa, her Aunt and Sisters have asked her to come over and give birth in the US. She will be travelling at the end of the month (24 weeks) using NY POE, she will be shuttling between NJ, Tennese before settling in Cleveland. We have not decided on the final hospital to use yet though gotten quotes from hospitals in different states.

She will be carrying $4000 cash and already done some transfers to the Sis. The major challenge I have is the folks in the US do not want us to notify the embassy of the intent to give birth since she had a visa before pregnancy and used the visa for its purpose. Me, I really do not want her to have issues at the POE. I have been reading people's experience in the forum.

The POE my friend used was Chicago and it was her first time to travel to the US. Her visa was not used for the intend it was gotten that was why she had to write a change of intend
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Gloriousmum: 2:09pm On Jun 07, 2016
My advice to all intending mum's. Please try to be very truthful. Your phone conversation maybe checked for issues that relate your travel and any incriminating information. Please be as transparent as possible. There is no point lying. Please go with enough cash to convince the VO you can pay your bills. A lady was sent back because of phone conversation. MEDICAL Visa and letter of change of intent are no more automatic entry but your sincerity,consistency and proof to pay you bills are the basics of what the VO are interested in

chikos:
For those with one month plus extra stay after birth, u can request for your baby American passport from the post office. Think the fee is 179. Pay extra 14 dollars to get it in two weeks.

Its not only those that have one month extra stay that use the post office o, its mainly for those who dont have a passport office in dre vicinity, they are left with only one option of requesting through the post office if they dont want to travel to another state that has a passport office.

anonymousmum said stanbic has increased from 258 to 278 or so, try to source for another bank that will be willing to sell at cbn rate because that 278 too much biko, as for food lists I will mention a few I always carry for my family whenever i'm travelling others too will add theirs to my list if e no complete, I always carry grinded ogbono, egusi, garri, knorr cubes, Ede pupa ( that big red crayfish) ,panla(stock fish) bournvita ( my friend is a huge fan of it so I always carry it),Cameroon pepper(small quantity), the normal small small crayfish. All these I buy from oyingbo market. Cheers

@njidekachi,
Congratulations darling. Responded to your mail. Welcome LO.
@mamas/papas in da house,
Pleasea m a FTM and will stay with a friend when I travel. Since I plan not to be 100%parasitic on her,what do I go with from naija(foodstuffs etc) biko, make una guide me with lists. I've seen articles where the abroad based complain seriously and I don't want my friend to join them. Na dollar crisis put me in this corner as I might be buying dollar at 258/$ instead of 200/$ that I envisaged.

You can also add dried fish,palm oil,groundnut,beans,noodles

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by jinglesbaby: 4:57pm On Jun 07, 2016
Yeah, that preggy momma whose husband is British but was denied UK visa and is now looking to birth in US!
If you can birth in US, by all means do so! Your husband probably got his ' British citizenship by descent' and not naturalisation! So basically, his mum passed it down to him.
If your husband was born abroad and acquired 'British citizenship by descent', any child you give birth to outside UK will not automatically qualify for British citizenship from birth! You will apply for entry clearance first then ILR after!

If ur husband got his citizenship without it being passed down to him, then ur children will be British automatically!

A lot of my Nigerian- British friends are citizens by descent and I know one who eloped to US mnths back! She will b rudely shocked when she discovers that her US born child will have to wait a liddle before getting British passport, think the child has to also fulfil residency requirements of three/five years which makes it even tedious!

#Guess we cant always have our cake and eat it!

Thank God for a successful journey and POE. You are blessed indeed..This CBP people are really showing us that truly some nigerians can"fall hand".Which one is begging not to enter for secondary inspection again especially when you have nothing to hide...As for the seeing of change of intent mail direct from device,i think that is a very smart idea.To think that people don't want to send their own letter to the embassy but have the time to edit from others is just a hot mess.Abeg Nairalanders keep the truth flag flying and may all liars and backyard members who want to block other people's chances be weeded out like chaff.

Hi Veleta,
I'm doing great. I returned from my sorjourn and got buried in a pile of WORK!

I never spoke to doc on phone while in Naija, till I saw him in person. His waiting room is bursting at the seams.
by way of suggestion try calling Tuesday and Thursday say 7pm Nigerian time. I think he has procedures on some days and is available in the clinic on these days.
He's a very easygoing person and I'm sure he would be willing to speak with you if he knew you were seeking audience with him.

I'm also hoping that Njidekachi can give you the name of the contact she has. That may help you.

Cheers

veleta:
@Njidekachi,congratulations NNE.Our God is faithful oh,please take care of yourself and baby oh,I know its not easy but God is your strength.Stay blessed.

NNE Biko,when you are lil free,can you please help with your contact for accommodation, help a sister oh.God bless you.

@Nnystc,hope ur OK?Dr doesn't pick,its Blanca that does and the accommodation she referred to me was pricey.

Welldone Everyone in the House for a good job being done here. Please House i need responses. My wife got her b1/b2 in 2014 & traveled in 2014 to the US with my kids who used their European passport together with their ESTA to travel with her as well. and in 2015 my wife traveled alone to the US for 1 month without my kids and came back. But in the same 2015,she went for a Schengen visa immediately as she came back but was denied for no reason,notwithstanding that she was a regular traveler to Europe before. She now put in for her US visa renewal via dropbox, but was called via an Email two days ago to come for interview at the Embassy. Pls my question is,could it be because of the Schengen rejected stamp in her passport or what could have been the reason for the interview? Has anyone had such experience in the past? i just want to know so that she can be well prepared for the questions that might come out during her interview. Note,she has never given birth in the US before or have any issues at the POE with CBP before. Lady G and others,Pls over to all of U.

Hmm. That price could be better, but that's about the same with what others are getting, isn't it?. If you only had someone to share the place and cost with, perhaps it may be more feasible, no?
And also is the place furnished?
