Most people have failed to notice that the High Sparrow tricked Queen Maegery into sending away her greatest ally - her grandmother. If he really wanted to arrest Olenna, it would have been foolish to share his plans with her grand-daughter.
I think it's the other way round. He totally believes Margaery's contrition and has let his guard down. Margaery is now a step ahead of him.

Yes they did. Ser Davos brokered the deal. He used the money to hire Salladhor Saan's fleet to sail from dragonstone to the wall.
How do you think Stannis was able to arrive in time to defeat Mance's army.
True that.

I don't like Sansa, I never liked Sansa, I will never like Sansa. She is a spoilt snitch. One day, I won't be surprise to see her snitch on Jon snow.
I never knew Yara Greyjoy was a lesbian, sha it fits her.

*sigh* These condescending and cocky assertions from the thread's self imposed "class captain", author of the books, director of the show and possibly commander of the unsullied has become rather obnoxious.

Three more episodes to go and in truth, the show has been largely disappointing. You can't keep leading viewers on with cliff hangers at every penultimate episode, make us wait a year and then go back to crawling. I can't stop watching now, but I must say I'm no longer impressed.

And... Interesting theory(copy and paste or not) with H'gar being Arya..... I sure hope it turns out so.

Great observation.

I'm not sure why people don't seem to like the high sparrow - In a world where rulership is determined by birth rather than by merit, where absolute power is only attainable to certain bloodlines, and where people would go to extreme lengths tof achieve this power, the High Sparrow represents the common man; risen up to seize his own destiny from the undeserving, immature and incompetent Tommens of this world.

Yet most people tend to identify more with Danaerys and Jon Snow or Arya. What does this say about us as people though?

Are we mostly an audience of nascent dictators unconsciously waiting for a chance to conquer, subdue and murder whole cities? grin

Game of thrones is like a chess game and to me the only person playing to win with a poker face is Queen Maegery.... Just like a queen on a chess board she can move to any direction with deadly consequences to the High Sparrow (Bishop).

Brother Ray: "How many men did it take to cut you down?"
The Hound: "Just one."
Brother Ray: "He must have been some kind of monster."
The Hound: "He was a woman

Lady Mormont sure has balls shocked

Yara sef; she fall my hand

Arya ain't cautious at all; you're in a land where someone can wear any face and you let your guard down.

The moment I heard the aforementioned quote, I knew those happy folks were goners.

Well, this was a build up episode and I believe they touched everywhere (Would have love to see more of Brandon's visions).

Fair point Akanniade.

The reason I don't like him is from a story telling perspective. Ever since his introduction, most of the King Landing's plotlines (Cerise, Maegery, Lady Olenna) have kinda stalled. I love the old King Landing where you have complex webs of plots and subplots.

If this logic holds, then show-wise we still have to question the idea that the Andals were anyone's ancestors as I cannot recall any scene where Andal ancestry was mentioned.

The answer reverts back to the source, which y'all are so fond of dismissing.

Every single character on the show craves power. Isn't that the whole point of the show? To showcase the machinations and politicking involved when chasing the ultimate prize?

Danaerys goes around destroying civilisations and cultures that have stood for several years. Jon Snow and Sansa are both waging a war for a title that was stolen by their father.

Why shouldn't we salute the common shoeless man, who rose from obscurity and schemed his way into the corridors of power? At least we applauded his real life analogue grin

Who said he found his courage? Dunno where you folks are making these assertions from. He's only promised his sister to try and become the Theon we used to know-- no one for certain how long it will take.

I've already explained myself in the last paragraph. He was portrayed as being killed in action...yet didn't die. The implication of this to me is that anybody that doesn't die on screen could in theory still be alive...and it's that refusal to fully commit to a character's death that is my main gripe.

Theoretically, Stanis Baratheon could still be alive as we never saw him actually die. Hodor too. That's what seems cheap to me especially when compared to other characters who were emphatically killed on screen with no remorse.

Why would you believe he was dead when the show didn't pronounce him dead? Last we saw him, he was alive. The difference between the hound and stannis is that the Boltons confirmed stannis was dead and up till that point a lot of his fans didn't think he was dead despite Brienne swinging a sword at his neck.

Jon Snow turned to Melisandre. "What sorcery
is this?"
"Call it what you will. Glamor, seeming,
illusion. R'hllor is Lord of Light, Jon Snow,
and it is given to his servants to weave with
it, as others weave with thread.
Mance Rayder chuckled. "I had my doubts as
well, Snow, but why not let her try? It was
that, or let Stannis roast me."
"The bones help." said Melisandre. "The bones
remember. The strongest glamors are built of
such things. A dead man's boots, a hank of
hair, a bag of fingerbones. With whispered
words and prayer, a man's shadow can be
drawn forth from such and draped about
another like a cloak. The wearer's essence
does not change, only his seeming."

“The spell is made of shadow and
suggestion. Men see what they expect
to see. The bones are part of that.”
Was I wrong to spare this one? “If the
glamor fails, they will kill you.”

While this is talking about the faith of R'hllor it is similar to that of the faith of the Many Faced God. They use glamours in addition to wearing a mask.

Then came a tug and a soft rustling as
the new face was pulled down over the
old. The leather scraped across her
brow, dry and stiff, but as her blood
soaked into it, it softened and turned
supple. Her cheeks grew warm, flushed.
She could feel her heart fluttering
beneath her breast, and for one long
moment she could not catch her
breath. Hands closed around her
throat, hard as stone, choking her. Her
own hands shot up to claw at the arms
of her attacker, but there was no one
there. A terrible sense of fear filled her,
and she heard a noise, a hideous
crunching noise, accompanied by
blinding pain. A face floated in front of
her, fat, bearded, brutal, his mouth
twisted with rage.

“Mummers change their faces with
artifice,” the kindly man was saying,
“and sorcerers use glamors, weaving
light and shadow and desire to make
illusions that trick the eye. These arts
you shall learn, but what we do here
goes deeper. Wise men can see
through artifice, and glamors dissolve
before sharp eyes, but the face you are
about to don will be as true and solid
as that face you were born with.”

Lol. This guy you funny sha. Person go jus ask simple question and you will be replying with a whole book chapter

I find it weird that Robett Glover (and other lords in the north) refused to help Jon and Sansa when they need them the most. Makes you wonder what the whole "the north always remember" bullcrap is all about.

Glover stated exactly why he wasn't going to help and you are still wondering why he isn't going to help?

Even Davos said " i don't know northerners but i know men" when Sansa said northerners are very loyal.
