This will be major . . .! Who will want to go by road, when you can do a safer LA-IB by rail in an hour or less? And most people I know, would rather do 4-5 hours rail to Abuja from Lagos @ N10,000-N15,000 than flying. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Wait o, LAGOS to IBADAN as how. Are they planning to Renovate the existing track or construct another one? Cos i travel by train a lot and the line is from KANO to IBADAN, the same line goes from IBADAN to ABEOKUTA to LAGOS. Probably that would be for UP TRAIN , LAGOS - IBADAN - KANO. But serious it won't make any difference, train time would still remain. 6 Likes |

Will it still be the same 1823 locomotive train or a modern and faster train? I hope it will be possible to make Ibadan in 10-15mts. That will be great. 7 Likes |

jaymejate:The planned rail is a standard gauge rail line which can accommodate modern high speed trains; not the refurbished pre-1960 narrow gauge line which you are presently riding on now which can only support slow trains. If the present government can achieve just this, then it will be a nice achievement. 31 Likes 5 Shares |

Amaechi should just deliver without making stupid promises of deadlines. How can someone who could not deliver 3km of rail in 8yrs be shamelessly giving deadline of 2yrs for 100km rail 10 Likes 2 Shares |

The first two years of Lincoln's leadership were extremely hard times; the US was being routed by the confederates and the US fell from one economic woe to another. But Lincoln had nothing if he didn't have resolve. He rose above the challenges and today, he's known as the greatest president US has ever produced. He was also mocked when his administration was yet in its nascence. Do you see the similarities between Lincoln and Buhari and the US of then and the Nigeria of now? 9 Likes 1 Share |

ok na rolchi: Wildrage: What do you expect from APC? They know their supporters are zombies and will like to hear and mastbate over such news. It keeps them happy in these trying times. I am still imagining how Calabar-Lagos rail line can be completed within two years. They have not started compensation, preliminary survey works, etc and here is somebody mentioning 2-years delivery period, for their supporters to gloat about. Several posters on nairaland before the elections analysed why it will not be possible to pay jobless youths N5k, and also provide free feeding for school children but same supporters used their abracadabra economics to explain how it will be possible. Now they are all disappointed but the die-hard supporters always put a spin to explain it. You can see them dancing on another impossible promise. 2 Likes |
