I arrived New York this morning... POE was a breeze. So thankful to all active contributors on this thread. I have learnt so much which I applied from the point of my visa renewal to not misrepresentating at any point. Did my visa renewal via Dropbox... I selected B2 and stated Oakbend as my contact organization. I thought I would be called in for an interview but I wasn't. Visa was ready after 5 working days. I wasn't able to get PTA before traveling after opening accounts with all the banks! I just carried the $1,000 I had though I had paid my doctor and hospital bill in February. POE of entry was bae... I spent about two minutes. VO. What are you here for? Me: To have my baby and vacation VO: acted surprised... Are you pregnant now? Me: Yes I am... While taking a step back to show him my bump. VO: Congratulations. How do you intend to pay for the bills? Me: I paid over 80% of my bill in February. I hand him the letter of appointment from Dr Dama which contained my total bill and how much I have paid so far as well as the receipts. VO: What do you do in Nigeria? Me: I work for a Bank as a xxxxxxxxx VO: He looks through the appointment letterand stamps me in for 6 months. Off to Agriculture because I ticked I am bringing food into the US. My bags were just scanned without being opened. I'm now at JetBlue's terminal waiting for my connecting flight. Thank you once again... This thread has been a blessing. I jacked and followed the thread like there was no tomorrow... My husband did not understand at one point. May God give us all easy POE entries and safe deliveries. 46 Likes |

Honestly, If I were you EvaMD, I would just take my money to a hospital with good maternity services and give birth there. The good ones around me are like 3hrs away and I dnt even trust the one local to me sef! Your child will b British if your hubby did not obtain his citizenship from anybody no matter how long the processing takes except of course, you have a personal preference for the US! UK healthcare is not all that grand in some cities sef in my own opinion, that's not to say mistakes do not happen everywhere. The final decision is yours to make at the end of the day. Wish you all d best and success as you plan! EvaMD: 2 Likes |

I am not there yet but i am considering Extendedstay America on Montana Avenue. They say its biggger, neater and more comfortable than Intown suite. Its about same price with Intown and includes breakfast (basic but at least i dont have to bother my head in the mornings about cooking). Mamita007: 4 Likes |

My interview experience. .... After waiting for over 2 hours praying, speaking in tongues, worshipping God. He answered our prayers VO: Why are you traveling to the US? ME: To have my baby. VO: Wow congratulations! Have you contacted a doctor and hospital? ME: Yes I have VO: Can I see the hospital and doctor's letter? ME: sure! I gave him the letter, the hospital budget and email conversations. He went through them and gave them back to me VO: What do you for a living? Me: I work with bla bla bla, I was primarily posted to bla bla to teach....... VO: Wow that's great! You teach Mathematics. You should be intelligent. How much do you earn? ME: thanks...I told him how much I earn. VO: Where does your husband do? ME: I told him VO: How much does he earn? ME: I told him. VO: What does he do there? I told him. VO:Does he have an extra income? Yes....we have tricycle running on the street. VO: wow! How many? 20 of themV VO: How much do they make in a week? Gave an estimate of 50-70k VO: Dats quite lucrative. ...How much does he make monthly? I quickly multiplied my weekly income by 4 and gave an estimate. VO: He mentioned that it might be one of my hubby's cabs that bashed his car.... I laughed......naaah, our tricycles are all in Onitsha not in abj. VO: Where is that? The Eastern part of Nigeria. VO: ok. After typing for so long. VO: can you remind me of what your husband do and his position, I forgot that? I told him. He kept typing. All of a sudden I heard the holy spirit spirit speaking through him....Congratulations....... God is so so good.. 27 Likes |

davsquared: So these were the steps I took: 1. I preregistered online 2. A week after preregistering, I called their pre-registration dept. I followed the voice prompt till i was connected to an agent. I told her i preregistred online and was calling to ask for my account number. She asked for my names and date of birth and afterwards gave me my account number. 3. After I got my number, I called Lisa I gave her my account number and asked for wire information which she forwarded via email to me. I hope this helps. Thanks 5 Likes 1 Share |

Hello house! First timer here. Pls I have a visa that expires on the 11th of september and I intend traveling on the 1st of September cos my due date is in November. I want to know if I have to apply for a visa renewal before I travel (that is before the expiration date of the visa) or I should apply for renewal when I get to the US ( that is after the expiration of the visa). Will I be allowed into the states with my almost expired visa wen my due date is in November? I need answers plsssssss |

estasplash: I think it's best to renew ur visa to be on d safe side, am also due in November I renewed my visa last week, the previous visa was to expire in August. I don't think it's possible to renew ur visa in the US since u are not a permanent resident there, you can only file for an extension of stay, that's if you need to stay beyond the date stamped on ur pp at ur point of entry. 5 Likes |

valeriechima: Congrats. I'll suggest you fly arik; max 34 weeks to New York Poe. Philly Poe is a bit tricky. You can then take a shuttle to Philadelphia. It's about 50mins, and they'll drop you at you door and it's affordable too. That's what I did. Hope it helps. My 2 kobo. 3 Likes |

Good Day All, Please avoid ETIHAD /ABU DHABI poe, those CBP have time well well. Flew Etihad Last week, was sent for secondary inspection only for me to meet a Nigerian Igbo Man (cant believe i forgot his name). The guy was so angry that am in the USA to give birth despite paying $3k to hospital was telling me because he could not reach the hospital that i was ling and was trying to talk and he was like "Am talking and if you interrupt am going to send you back" (was so pissed that i could not reply him). started with the long speech of how its still Legal to give birth in the US FOR NOW and how people come over to use MEDICAD blah blah blah. Please use other poe. that poe is a bit risky. 5 Likes |

To God be ALL the Glory...My baby arrived 4th June.I used St Peters in NJ, good hospital I must say. VD Bill was 7754, (baby-2136, mom 5618), docs fees was 3000. Hospital accepts cash, cheque or card, no wire transfers. She had a bit of jaundice on the high side, so was readmitted, waiting for the bill for that, Lord have mercy! Just one bilirubin test cost me $180 and we had about 5 or more while on admission. 15 Likes |
