See there is nothing like substandard... Products....

The Chinese company will make phone quality... Based on the price your are willing to pay...

China gives you what u ask for, the moment you ask for upgrade be ready to pay more. We all remeber the days of Tecno m3 for 10k, now Tecno has phones of 60k because they upgraded their products and market is demanding for innjoo because it's 12k. Nigerians are the problem here, people intentionally go asking for China phones in the market and they know exactly what they are buying. They know they won't replace the screen and am tired of warning them yet they go and buy it and come asking you where to find the screen when it's broken. Even if SON pursue them people will still demand for them and force markets to smuggle them into the country.

As much as it is a fraud, I don't see any reason why I should dump my former phone for a new one without at least a good reason.

I have had an iPhone 6+ (a gift) for more than 9months now. I left it packed. Since I got it, does not pick network. So, I took it to some guys in computer village.They told me to bring 30k to update the software, so I can use it in Nigeria.

I just laughed and went to keep it in my wardrobe.

Why should I use all that money to work on the phone when I have a samsung galaxy that is in PERFECT condition? Good battery life and other things. And a steady nokia phone, for my second sim.

I don't like such wastage.

A case where phone makers deliberate set out to rip off the wallet of Nigerians with juicy marketing, only to make a U-turn and do what they ought to do in the first instance. What do I mean? Now, I have seen a couple of phone makers make a certain phone with 1GB RAM, and then 3-months later, they release the same phone with 2GB RAM and add appellations like “Plus, Max, Pro” at the end of the original name. These OEM’s have no “trade-in” policy, they deliberately want Nigerians to dump their new phone and purchase the same phone with a re-branded name. Ouch!

For other phone makers, they make the two variant, 1GB RAM and 2GB RAM, release only the 1GB version in Nigeria and send the two 2GB version to Kenya and UAE because those countries have a government – This is fraud!

The United States has a regulatory body called FCC that checks the quality and authenticity of phones coming into their country. Even the highly rated Xaiomi had a tough time entry the U.S market because of the standards the Chinese OEM had to meet.

Over here in Nigeria, the Standard Organization of Nigeria and NCC allows anything into Nigeria, as if our dear country is dumping ground for some of these phones that should be destroyed at the shores of Nigeria.

I earlier decried the so-called Yezz Mobile Jumia wanted to flood into the market, I am glad the brand was dead on arrival. There are other OEM’s who have established their brand in Nigeria, but now take us for granted with their bizarre business policy – This is fraud, it is dumb and delusional.

It’s even more disheartening that some OEM’s create phones without parts and accessories. They don’t want to offer repair services even when they know their stuff is inferior, they want you to keep buying the same sh!t with the money they don’t deserve.

Virtually all phones in Nigeria is from China, Name it, iPhone(US), huawei, Tecno, ITEL, samsung (s korea), sony (japan), LG (s korea), Lenovo, ZTE, xiaomi, just to mention few, Is either these phones are made in China for Chinese or made in China for international market. Ur darling iPhone is made in China but owned by US, so is many others like that, even our darling Tecno and ITEL are being manufactured in China on contract bases, like many others too. Chinese wount know some of these phones bcoz they aren't produced for them, they just manufactured it in a factory and shipped to naija, Gbam . Y? In China labour is cheap and raw material easily available. Lets stop being ignorants. In China, u get what u pay for. U cant mention Top five phones in the world without mentioning at least 2 Chinese, in terns of volume and quality. And Chinese phones are generally cheap, unlike ur iPhone u pay royalty for, despite it being manufactured in China. U guys should expand ur knowledge, check out company like le eco (first company to produce a phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820) , Huawei, recently released P9, scored top notched, even camera was co engineered with LEICA (Germany) Xiaomi (The one that tends to produce everything at half the price) One plus (internationally know, u even need an invite before u can purchased their phones) . Let me stop, Contact Jeffy1206, if u need a Chinese phone that u wount regret buying. Mind u, u get what u pay for

Its not just Nigeria, its the whole world, that's how phone company operates. Take a look at the Almighty apple. What they do is upgrade camera and change the size of the phone and they say they have released a new phone. All this phone companies are scam especially apple, they are not innovative at all. Keep recycling old product with different casing. Non of these phone company has even build a plant in west Africa, all they do is sell substandard product to us.
