Captain12: Shoplifting cost retailers £335m a year and customers pay the price, so you can't consider that a little offense and failed to disclose it in your application. Its a criminal offense as well as a breach of immigration law. Yes you can apply again with a letter of apology but the chances of sources is anybody's guess. You are also free to try other countries but you still have to disclose your UK visa refusal. |

Captain12: Was there a misrepresentation on the part of the VO? If yes, You should have included the EVIDENCE in the first place rather than saying NO to the question. For your info, your information as regard to the offence is already shared among the schengen countries whether misrep or not.... so it is pertinent to clear your self with the UK before thinking of embarking on a free money spree on other countries visas. All the best 1 Like |

Thanks a lot for such a detailed explaination. So if I understand you correct even if I apply with an apology letter to any schenegen country getting rejected for the visa is a surity right? How do I clear myself from thr UK charge? Do I have to arrange a lawyer in UK? Many thanks. 1 Like |

Hello house,my husband, son and I are planning to attend my Elder bro's wedding in UK by Aug. I and my husband have a joint account as well as as joint fixed deposit investment which will mature before the travel date and which will be the source of fund for our trip. How am I supposed to answer these questions? A. What is the cost to you personally of this trip? B. the total amount of money you have for this trip C. Is someone other than you paying for this trip? D. How much will they be paying towards your trip? Am I supposed to write the same figures in I and my husband's forms? Or, will I split the total money into 2 and enter the figures in the forms? Pls help me torchlight the matter or refer me to any one/post that has been in/addressed similar situation Thanks |

You don't need a lawyer to contact the embassy for you. Theft is a crime taken seriously in any part of the world. Just to support what Justwise said, you can apply again if only from the last time you submitted your application to the present, your situation must have changed significantly. You have to write a convincing letter on why that information was left out from you application, and if at the time of this crime, you were given any letter, you should present that as well. Know that this information is shared among EU data base, unless the EU country you want to apply to does not ask you any question relating to crime. Captain12: 1 Like |

hello everyone, @justwise please advise. I went to the UK in 2012 on tier 4 visa. finished but couldn't graduate due to some owed tuition. I then applied for FLR on compassionate grounds to help me finish and continue further. I was refused. I appealed and was still refused. hence I voluntarily returned back nov 2014. almost two years after, I intend going for holiday for 10 days. my condition now is: I started work since April 2015, my monthly salary is now 180,000 after tax. I have a truck that make roughly 80-100k monthly. I have a partner and we have a daughter together. I have a landed property too.. documents submitted employment letter employement confirmation letter (after 6months) stating salary breakdown. introduction letter payslip tax clearance my commercial truck papers Lagos state dues etc of the truck. land reciept land agreement building plan child birth certificate shares certificate bank statement showing #1,290,000 bank introduction letter. in the salary section, I filled 180k after tax but the ECO calculated as my yearly salary after which I included my offer letter/employment letter stating that I earn 192,000 pre tax. and my payslip says 180k monthly after tax. I was refused on paragraph 4.2 (a) & (e ).

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by diamondsare4eva: 8:22pm On Jun 10, 2016 |
How much do you have in your bank statement? if you have 1m in your fixed deposit and decide to transfer to your savings account will be money lodgement and you have to show proof of the deposit. Why will you spend about 5,508£ on a 10 day trip. The will be hard to sell to the ECO. Did you say you have 600k in your joint savings account? How much do you and your hubby earn? customised87: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by customised87: 9:00pm On Jun 10, 2016 |
diamondsare4eva: The total amount of money in both our joint savings and fixed deposit is 5,508£ (1.6m naira), 1m fixed deposit which will mature before our travel date and 600k in our savings account, and we want to spend 1,577£ on this trip. Our total monthly income is 240k. Our child doesn't require a visa as he was born in the US 1 Like |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by diamondsare4eva: 11:48pm On Jun 10, 2016 |
How much do you have in your joint savings account? That is what will be used to demonstrate your financial situation. If you have 1.6m in your savings account, you don't need to withdrawal from the fixed deposit, because that will be lodgement and desperation. The ECO will see it like why will you want to use your life savings for a 10 day vacation. And if you have 600k in the savings that will not be enough for the trip and will be grounds for refusal, you have to show your proof to strenthen your ties when you return back after the vacation. But you can withdraw the fixed and deposit in your savings only if you are not applying now, because you have to run the account for a while so the lodgement will not show when you submit the statement. If you claim your brother will accommodate make sure to have supporting documents from your brother on his status in the UK. customised87: |

themusketeer: 1.The application you made in the UK using human right act really damaged your reputation with ukba. 2. Your recent application was over budgeted and above your income |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by themusketeer: 7:14am On Jun 11, 2016 |
justwise:good morning justwise, when you say over budgeted what do you mean? am I spending too much or it doesn't commensurate with my earnings? I earn 180k after tax. also have a delivery truck that gives around 80k monthly. I intend applying again next week to point out that they made mistake in assessing my application that 180k was monthly as against the yearly the ECO assumed. i also intend to explain that i was wrongly advised by a solicitor I used in the UK who said FLR on compassionate ground was the only way out if I wanted to finish my degree. any chance scaling through? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 7:30am On Jun 11, 2016 |
themusketeer: There is no mistake there as the Eco stated that it's a monthly pay. Did submit documents to support your additional earnings? You can't blame the solicitor because you approached him and it was your decision to take that route. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by themusketeer: 7:44am On Jun 11, 2016 |
justwise: #180,000 using his exchange rate is not £195. it is £643 monthly. yearly is £7,714. and my expenses is about 2.2time's my monthly take home that is not even including my other earnings I only submitted my truck registration papers that showed that it was a commercial truck. and I mentioned in the self introduction letter that I make money from it monthly. I didn't put it in the form. can I include it in my new application and show evidence ? many thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:00am On Jun 11, 2016 |
themusketeer: I see the mistake you were referring to but the issue you have here now is that you were refused because of other issue as well which you can't correct. Submitting truck registration papers alone is not enough because it does not indicate how it brings in money and how much |

Thanks all @ justwise for replying to my previous posts on UK vist visa refusal due to shoplifting offence. I feel very bad I did this mistake and now I can't take my little kid to UK because his visa got aporoved but mine is refused coz of my mistake made in 2012. I have done shoplifting in 2012 dec and was in police station for 3 hours and then was back home without paying any amout/charge.. honestly accepted my mistake and that was the first and last time I did a offence. I am planning to apply for deletion of my record ..got a link where i can apply. Please read the below info attached from the police and advice me if I am eligible to send application for this.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by worry359(m): 12:46pm On Jun 11, 2016 |
Captain12: I have had experience of this. It would seem that you admitted guilt and although there were no charges a record will have been created. Unfortunately getting this record removed will be very, very, very difficult. You probably have more chance of being honest and pleading your case before a visa officer that you have of deleting the record. Besides which the record is now on the visa computer as well. Try another application and show evidence that you have not committed any crime since your mistake. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 1:05pm On Jun 11, 2016 |
Captain12: I have gone through the link and yes it seems that you are eligible to apply but nobody knows what the process and time will be. Another thing is this...that record will not be removed from your immigration profile only on police crime database so deleting it now for immigration purposes is too late. |
