forgiveness: Leon is rated higher because he played a lower number of games. Do you know who played as the LB for Mainz that day? It was their normal CB, search it on goal.com. They had to push their CB to the LB spot and Leon played because Leon naturally can't play as a LB. I mean if you do not understand that a player's absensce leads to a total reshuffling then I do not see why i should continue arguing with you. Compare. When Marcelo was injured, they didn't just put in Nacho who would have been a natural replacement, they pushed Danilo into the RB spot and pushed Carvajal who is naturally their first choice RB into the LB spot. You keep on talking like a child. Okay, i gave you the number of minutes he played this season. 1500+ out of 3400+, isn't thay below average?! If he is the best there he would play a lot more than that. He didn't even start their DFB pokal games, he was a sub there too! You can go on and on about him playing against Bayern in one leg and also playing against Borrusia in one leg but it still won't make sense. Roberto played against Real Madrid in Barca's RWF, he played against Lervekusen, Villareal and others too, does that make him the first choice? Guy try to talk with a little bit of sense. Now skip the 'he played against Borrusia and Bayern part(Thank God, I only made that mistake once, i only said he didnt play against Bayern, my comments on why he played against Borrusia are stated above) and tell me why he only played less than half of the total minutes in a season. Until you do that, I won't reply. 1 Like |

forgiveness: did you notice something? Guilio played 2200+ minutes. He arrived from Lervekusen in January and still made 10+ appearances as a starter. He was absolutely the main RB which explains what I was saying. They played Leon in the CB that day because he is more organised playing as a central defender(meanwhile, Whoscored too shows clearly that his position is D(CR) which means defender, center right. He didn't play as the CL this season). So please stop this crap you are saying 1 Like |

Mickael2: Mickael2: @bolded is what you said but the fact on ground proved otherwise. Guidoli never played as a CB and that is the point . So, how come because Guidoli was suspended Leon Balogun played on the CB when we know he had played as CB? Who played as the LB is inconsequential in this discuss and an unnecessary distraction from the main point. Then how come Guidoli and Balogun played at the same time against Bayern Munich? Guidoli played as a RBM while Balogun maintained his usual position at the CB.

forgiveness: Mickael2's point is very clear. If Guidoli was not suspended, Leon will not play. Well this is not about too much bashing of our players. I just want players to get their fair chances. I see no reason why Oshaniwa who broke into the squad under Coach Keshi is not getting called to the National team. I do not remember Coach Oliseh calling him and Coach Salisu Yusuf is not calling him. Instead Echiejile who is not as good as Oshaniwa gets called up. It is wrong and unfair. 1 Like |

Mickael2: Which English? we are talking about the game against Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. You said Leon Balogun played those matches because Guidoli was suspended but it is a fat lie. Balogun never replaced Guidoli at the RB in those matches. He played his usual position. Mr grammar. Now answer this simple English, Why did Guidoli and Balogun played together if they play in the same position, Mr grammar? Now, let me educate you. The man that benched Guidoli is Daniel Brosinki. I hope you got it sir.

TheGoodJoe: Because both of you choose to be blind to the truth. Is Guildo a CB or RB? Very simple question. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:24pm On Jun 11, 2016 |
forgiveness: As I said before. He already made his point. Defensive shuffle, which made Leon fill in the gap. It would have been a different case if Guildoli was not suspended. His point is too simple to understand. You are just dragging it. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Fill which gap? I am asking you a simple question. What is Guidoli position, is it RB or CB? Or is it difficult for you to answer? His point is inconsequential. What l want is facts. Enough of lies on this forum. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:39pm On Jun 11, 2016 |
forgiveness: if after i explain it this time, you still don't get it then i won't answer again. Case study: Real Madrid Vs Man city, first leg at the Etihad. Ronaldo was injured, Benzema too. Bale is the RWF, but in that game he played as the CF with Jese and Vasquez in the game as the wingers. That's how football is. Isco can play as the LWF, they have Borja who can play as the CF too, but they choose to reshuffle so as to accommodate their best players. Lets take the main case now. Leon is their second choice RB, their main right back was suspended. They had another defender who was injured or suspended, i will look it up again and modify, instead of just pushing Leon to the RB and leaving their CB open too, they pushed him in there and looked for another alternative in the RB spot. That still means that if Guiloli had played, he wouldn't have been there, or rephrase, if they had a complete defense, he wouldn't be there, are you with me? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:52pm On Jun 11, 2016 |
forgiveness: I do not understand how you want me to explain again. What you want are facts. Facts are Leon did not play up to half of the games this season. An injury to a player or a suspension can bring him into the squad. It must not be a like for like replacement. Injuries to Manchester City defence in one of the games made Sagna play in central defence. So asking right back left back does not change that Leon was not regular. It does not change that an injury or suspension in another defensive role make him play more games. That is all I am saying. 1 Like |

Mickael2: Your making a mistake. Leon would have still started against Bayern Munich without the suspension of Guidoli. I just looked it up. In the game before that, Mainz played Bayer Leverkusen and defeated them 3-1. Leon Balogun started both games. |

TheGoodJoe: All this na story. Please answer the question. What wing did Guidilo play this season for Mainz, is it CB or RB? So, stop bitting around the bush. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:10am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: Does Sagna play RB or CB. It is a simple explanation. Wing answer does not change the point. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:15am On Jun 12, 2016 |
Mickael2: Leon Balogun played up to three games before the Bayern Munich match. That is Hoffenheim, Schalke, Leverkusen, Hannover. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:32am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: You are funny. I just told you that in Man City, due to injuries, it also happened in Arsenal, there was a defensive shuffle and Sagna played as a central defender. Two seasons ago, due to injuries, there was a shuffle in the squad and Demichelis played as a defensive midfielder. In this kind of situation, asking the position of the player does not count because Sagna played as a central defender and Demichelis played as a defensive midfielder. You are dragging a simple point. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by forgiveness: 12:34am On Jun 12, 2016 |
Mickael2: Mickael2: You are totally wrong. From the snapshot below. They both started and played together prior to the match against Borussia Dortmund. It was in this match Guidilo received red card while Leon Balogun played 90 minutes. So, tell where did Guidilo and Leon Balogun play in that match? The snapshot was the match prior to the Borussia Dortmund game. Now, do you comprehend?

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by forgiveness: 12:43am On Jun 12, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: The question is why did Leon Balogun play in the match against Borussia Dortmund? Was it because Guidoli was suspended? Very simple question. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:50am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: Mickael2 said because of the suspension to Guilio Donati, Balogun did not play. Your question was why should the suspension of a right back affect the choice of a center back. He said defensive shuffle. (For instance, if the replacement of the right back role is not good enough. Just as when we lost Kompany, Mangala and Demichelis, instead of Pellegrini playing Tosin, he chose to play Sagna, a right back in Central defence) So asking the position of Guilio Donati again is pulling back the argument after Mickael2 stated defensive shuffle. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:54am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: Your not even suppose to ask, it because of Giulio's suspension. He already stated it is because of Giulio's suspension and defensive shuffle. You can show another right back played in the role and the other defenders maintained their roles. Or show a central defender was dropped. Or, show Leon played other games before that. Not asking wing after he said defensive shuffle. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by forgiveness: 12:58am On Jun 12, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: Who does not know defence shuffle? Mickael2: He said 'he only played because Guidoli was suspended'. Now, that is a statement he made and you concur to it. Is it true or false that due to his suspension Leon was able to play against Dortmund? Simply thing. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:03am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: Please, showed me where I concurred to it. I said he made his point. I read you guys debate from where he said Leon did not play against Bayern in both games. I knew Leon did. I did not know much about before or after. I do not follow Mainz. You showed he played and Mickael2 said that it was because of Giulio's suspension. He further stated of the defensive shuffle. You asked which wing does Giulio play. I told you he made his point and went further to explain what he meant. How is that concurring. I should concur what I do not know? I stated he made his point. Not concur. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:04am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: I think you mean Bayern and are you asking me the question? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:08am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: Mickael2 already made his point. The question you are asking is already answered by him. He believed the suspension made Leon play due to defensive shuffle. It was up to you to prove that it was not defensive shuffle that made Leon play. Asking the wing of Giulio does not prove if it was a defensive shuffle or not that made Leon play. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 1:11am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: Mickael2's point is very clear. If Guidoli was not suspended, Leon will not play. Please read the statement in full. I was stating Mickael2's point. That is not concurring. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 2:20am On Jun 12, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: we are now talking about the Borrusia Dortmund game where Guioli was suspended. But don't worry, I'm not replying the guy again, seems a lot childish for my liking |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 2:24am On Jun 12, 2016 |
forgiveness: you do understand that a simple statement can have an embedded meaning right? I said he played because he was suspended. You said how possible is it, i now explained that it was because of defensive reshuffling or didn't you read that part? You are just picking up the parts that you want to defend. Like I said, you are derailing the thread. I said he played 1500+ minutes, thats less than half, if he is a regular starter like you claim then how come? You were arguing about Echejile too till I showed you the number of minutes he played and he kept your mouth shut, but it seems like the 'emboldened statement' like you called it has gotten to your brain and you want to ponder on the trivial issues. I will let you do just that |
