I went to visit a relative of mine and was thinking my paltry 163K (no bonus, no allowance) salary was even manageable in this present economy. When the guy told me his salary I just weak,dude earns almost 400k with almost a million yearly allowance. The good side he doesn't get to spend on transport.O boy as I return I begin search for jobs online ooo. I don go dust the cobwebs for my LinkedIn profile, maybe me too will hit one of those american or british foreign company jobs in Nigeria like General Electric and start earning 500k upwards

There are diff grades and diff pay i diff banks. General manager, assistant general manager, senior manager, manager, senior banking officer, banking officer, assistant banking offficer, entry level (might be slightly diff in banks). Then u have contract staffs. A general manager earns over 2m per month nd get profit of like 30-50m a year. An entry level earns btw 110-240,(diff banks diff pay). A banking officer gets like 250-400k. Co ntract staff get like 50-70k. Alot of Nigerians dont know bankers are paid well because dey mostly deal with d contract staffs in branches. Real bankers are in d head office

1. Contact staff in Most banks earn b/w N65,000 to N105,000 depending on length of stay, position of Job function.

2. Core Staff earn different salaries ranges depend on grade and bank, below are general nomenclatures of grade applicable to most Banks in Nigeria and NET MONTHLY TAKE HOME PAY .

- Entry Level - N106,000 to N145,000

- Assistant Banking Officer: - N150,000 to N205,000

- Banking Officer: - N250,000 to N340,000

- Senior banking Officer: - N350,000 to N495,000

- Assistant Manager: - N500,000 to N650,000

- Deputy Manager: - N680,000 to N850,000

- Manager: - N900,000 to N1,200,000 ( You Get a Status Car on this Level) - eg Toyota Camry Honda Accord

- Senior Manager: - N1,300,000 to N1,750,000

- Principal Manager: - N1,850,000 to N2,000,000 ( Some Banks dont have this Grade)

- Assistant General Manager- N2,000,000 to N2,500,00 ( You Get a Bigger Status Car on this Level) - Eg Toyota Prado and other Big SUVs

- Deputy General Manager: N2,500,000 to N2,850,000

- General Manager: N3,000,000 to N3,500,000

- MD/CEO: N3,500,000 to Any Amount approve by the Board.



NB: A lot of banks have multiple grades between Entry Level and Senior Banking officer, pay within those grades differ by N35,000 to N85,000

*** From Senior Manager and above you are also entitled to N1,000,000 to N1,500,000 Reimbursement( eg: Golf Club membership, Gym Membership, Children School fees, International Travels,Car towing Services, Generator Allowance, Servant Allowance, Driver Allowance)

Professional Staff earn mostly above N230k per month at entry level. Each promotion normally comes with abt 100k-150k increment.

For those saying twa twa about banking jobs...
I would be specific to a point about the banks I know that I have worked with and those my friends have worked with.
At Keystone bank for an Entry, the pay is about 2.5Million per annum that's over 200k. For union bank, its about same amount.
Skye bank pays about 2M per annum and Wema about 2.7M annually... Mind you, these are permanent staffs who go through the regular banking school and all that.
As for contract staffs, the pay is between 50-80K depending on the outsourcing company.
Another thing is, its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a contract staff to be converted to a permanent staff

Banks employ only casual nowadays whether you've got 14PhD and 25 master's degree.

For casual


FCMB 35k usually 25k before
FIRST BANK 60k
GTB. 45k
UNION BANK. 35k for marketer with a target of 35m in 6 months
DIAMOND BANK 40k
SKYE BANK 40k
ZENITH BANK 55k
UBA. 50-60k etc


Staffs are paid 100-150k (All payment are verified)
