Jonathan was there and nobody shouted true federalism!!! I wonder how Nigerians think... Just love copying people that got their acts right!! the problem is simple... let d states governors generate their internal revenue, augment it with d federal allocation, develop their infrastructures in proportion 2d money received, and stop making it seems As if d federal government is too powerful! it's quite unfortunate that 90% of our state governors are very lazy and will rather frequent Abuja for free money, without looking for ways 2 boost their internal economy.... remember d saying that he who pays the Piper dictates the tune?? the federal government acts all strong because they know d governors are lazy and will always run 2 them.... if we can't get things right now... we can't also get it right if regionalism is introduced!! Just my 1 cent.. no b say anybody know me. 1 Like |

BeeBeeOoh: I've always supported Federalism, but there's a twist in it which I don't seem to get. If states control their resources, what happens to the oil in ND? Especially now that the economy has tilted completely towards oil. Does it mean that other regions won't be able to survive? |

Only brain dead zombies will praise these yesterday people for this TALK. Reasonable people will ask WHAT did they do to actualise true federalism when they had POWER to do something What concrete STEPS are they taking now to correct their mistakes of the past by LOBBYING current lawmakers and opinion leaders to AMEND our constitution for true federalism |

If the ABURI ACCORD of 1967 had been kept by Gowon, Nigeria would have been greater than this and there wouldn't have been that bloodbath of a civil war and the true federalism we are now shouting for would have long been in place, but the north's and northerners grapple for power and paranoia of being robbed of their absolute born to rule power wouldn't let see that it was for the greater good of all stakeholders in the Union called Nigeria. Well it's not too late, true federalism and resource control by all states am totally in support of to move this country forward and put an end to the incessant and perditious violence in the country... True federalism seems to be a way forward. America does not simply control the oil in Texas but the railroad commission of Texas. Allocating oil wells to a man in Northern Nigeria because he is an ally of the ruling Head of State/president should end. |

The only two options before us are disintegration or true federalism. The truth is that the Niger Delta oil has left Nigeria government control either as a regional resource control or as outright secession from Nigeria, that is the bitter truth to swallow |
