The technology is there, is cheap and has been tested and proven. Besides, it will provide more jobs for the data processors that will be on those work station monitoring the system, those that pay,those connecting illegally etc. Besides, the meters are theirs, whatever investment they have put into it, in the course of 5 to 6 years, they will get it back.

What I see now is a short cut that will affect us years to come. Short cut or this quick has not really gotten us anywhere in this country. When Nigeria wanted electricity, instead of doing the right thing with underground wiring as is done in countries that are successful, they choose the cheap option of surface wiring with electric poles, despite the money they had and today, we are still suffering from that decision

its a community meter,d whole community will contribute moni to buy d recharge card,when d moni recharged finishes dat community will b left in darkness till dey buy another recharge card to recharge. I have witnessed it in a particular community. Stupidity in highest order.y cant he share meter house by house.

My simple question is how can a country of over 180million find it difficult to get seasoned professionals in managing science oriented ministries. We don't need people that will be speaking English day in day out but practical professionals that will hit the ground running. Left to me the COREN, NIA, NSE, CORBON should all bury their heads in shame as they cannot protest and reject such appointment. Fashola might be a shadow of himself throughout the 4yrs as his position is overwhelming for his capacity.

Those groups are only doing now what chinese kids did 1000 years ago. They are only good on paper.

Not an engineer but he built roads. Not an educationist but he built and equipped schools. Not a medical practitioner but he built and equipped hospitals. Was he perfect? Hell no! But Fashola in his own little way improved Lagos. If he is able to replicate this performance in his present job, you and I will surely benefit.

The meter is on the pole because consumers bypass meters put in their homes.

Why has an engineer not bin appointed minister for health?

Your argument would have made sense if a director in the ministry of power works is a Lawyer, these are the real positions that demand technical capabilities and Engineering erudition not and administrative positions like the ministerial post!

Bros, There is no such thing as community meter.. That particular, each houses will be giving a small device that looks like a phone, you will use it to monitor your usage a d to load another unit when you finish your unit.
They built this one so they can stop people who bypasses their current meter ..

That an Engineer hasn't been appointed a minister of health doesn't mean it's wrong.
Ministers are politicians. You have to get that right.
