Amaehi just FOOOOOOOOOOLED himself again BIIIIIGGGG Time! grin grin grin grin The minister of transport says N13B can buy half of Lagos, invariably Lagos as a whole is worth N26B. How naive can a Nigerian Minister be? It shows the quality of "technocrats" in Buhari's cabinet.

I used to think he was an intelligent person until I read he invited the world bank ''to help him formulate policies for road transport administration in Nigeria''.

What!!.

This's why an Indian man once exclaimed ''Nigeria imports everything including intelligence''. What more clear sign the minister don't know what he's doing!!.

Ameachi is a complete embarrassment to the Niger Delta and by exension Rivers state, Part of the agitation of the NDA is that the maritime University be continued, instead of appreciating the sensitivity of the matter and putting up a positive disposition to let the stakeholders know that their interest in the school is been addressed he is acting in the opposite and adding salt to injury. Ok, I guess his pay day is coming. Thanks to Kachukwu for not keeping quiet.

Amaechi's Argument is valid..

If the Federal Government does not pay the 13 Billion for the Land, then on what Land will the school be built?

Ameachi is just deliberately exagerating that stuff. If the land weren't paid for, then how did the already built structures of the maritime university get on that land.If the FG is serious they can easily negotiate with the indigenes of the community around the school and settle them without paying them N13b, thats if his claims are not lies.

How could this man be a minister?i can't believe he is a product of university of port harcourt,it's a shame, this young man does not

Ameche understand the matter at hand,my reason for saying this is,if take a technical look at how he delved into the issue, you will
Agree with me that he does not understand anything at all,...uniport should be scrapped immediately or better still,it needed to be re
Equiped, both in man power and otherwise

At a time u were comparing two persons on the basis of their intellectual capabilities having listened to them talk, I followed carefully until u made the greatest blunder of the century which the most illiterate bus driver will not ' Uniport should be scrapped '. Simply because Amaechi is a product of Uniport.

I feel ure a disgrace to the institution that certified you, because they are oblivious to the fact that you re unworthy both in learning and in character.
This is a clear case of kettle calling pot black, because u sounded so unintelligent, a measure of ure intelligent quotient will unsurprisingly be below 40%.

Thanks to Kachukwu for saving the day. Some politicians fail to realize that they are elected to serve the people. The ND people are angry at this very action, yet Amechi is still trying very hard to add salt to injury. Why is he more concerned about the 13B for land when he has not accounted for the waste he incurred in River STATE Government ....

Learning how to and when to talk to your subjects is a rare gift. I must commend Kachukwu for this wisdom. I was beginning to give up on this administration. But with the latest actions by PMB for a ceasefire and Kachukwu's action here, I think we may be seeing a new leadership.

I want to employ this administration to lead the people with an open heart and purge their hearts of every prejudice. This way they can be more objective in making decisions.

Thank you again Kachukwu for saving the day.

I fell in love with Kachukwu today. I am not gay guys. It is time someone in the cabinet stops playing politics and starts showing some work. They have gotten sucked up in this political game. "progress" seems not to be a word in their dictionary anymore. This money is sunk. The asset is just wasting in the name of 13billion naira that Amechi shockingly says can buy half of Lagos. Are these guys kidding? This is what has gotten PMB in trouble. So many fans who have thrown objectivity to the wind and keep advising wrongly. I am sure people like Amechi watched PMB and kept advising him wrongly on providing support to the Niger Delta. I am a fan of Buhari and I wish him success. I have had fall outs with die hard supporters based on his questionable style and you get bashed without objectivity.

Anyway, I see a change in the FEC based on this. I found it strange everyone in the FEC always point in the same direction.

Even though both Amaechi and Kachikwu are playing politics for different reasons, I support Amaechi in this case. Amaechi has been governor for eight years and knows what could be achieved with 13 Billion. You can't just spend 13 billion on land alone! Many communities would provide land for free (if possible) to attract federal project of this nature. So, the only motivation for paying such a huge amount is corruption. Besides, where is the wisdom in acquiring a piece of land for 13billion when such an amount could have been utilized in upgrading the institute at Oron to a full fledged university? Even if anyone intends to move forward with the university project at Okerenkoko, the land issue still needs to be sorted out. You can't just overlook such a scam (yes, a scam) and say let's move on! That's the point Amaechi was making.

From what someone said here on Nairaland (don't know if it's true or not), there were structures on ground in the area for a diving school already. Now are those structures worth 13 Billion? I don't think so.

The paper for the establishment of that school was one of the late bills signed by Jonathan before he left office. I don't think due deligence was fully done before it was approved.

Its so appalling how a minister of the Federal Republic comes out in public to speak like a tout; shining his eyes like he is trying to speak through the eyelids, using hyperboles meant for beer palour talks.

How can N13bil buy half of Lagos? what sort of silly exaggeration is that? And of all the reasons to give why you suspended a federal govt project, its because of land cost?

See the way Kachikwu made his point elegantly without raising his voice and blaring his eyes.

Its no suprise to me how these NDans glorify corruption. They re trying to prove a point; that they survive on corruption. The only ND man as a president looted naija dry. Also, all d money apportion to NDDC has not been utilised at all. Thats why 13b is not enough to do a university.
Every ND family should pray that God gives them a star like Amaechi.
Kachukwu is trying to be relevent with ND ppl. Why cant he tell Buhari to drop all d charges against all the ND politicians including Diezani? Thats when his voice would be heard loudest.
Its a shame.

This is very serious, 13 billion Naira for land alone @ how much per hectare and up to how many kilometre distance the University is expected to extend and how many trillions of Naira will now be expected to build the University?

Amaechi is a politician. Politicians work according to the dynamics in the political context within which they operate. He is trying hard to sound financially prudent and reasonable as expected by his boss; Buhari.

Kachikwu, on the other hand, is a technocrat that understands the importance of "Stakeholder Engagement", "Social Responsibility" and the pertinence of managing "Organized Complexity".

The only anomaly in the video is that "The Politician" is a Minister. Error!

I agree. Kachiukwu is the kind of man who actually takes this project on-board like he has promised only to find out that Amechi was right all along.
I am very sure that there should be a maritime university standing now if the previous government was really serious about it. They planned to chop, chopped and abandoned the project . A project that was not done for the region when oil price was $114 a barrel won't happen when oil is down to $48 a barrel
It is a good test. Let Kachiukwu take it on-board and discover the true nature of country he belongs.

This is healthy! I prefer this to a government of 'yes men'. This happens in civilised economies, people from the same party can disagree on strategies, but share similar ideologies. Just yesterday, Hillary Clinton disagreed with Obama on strategies adopted for gun control. This is healthy, only wailers will see it as a crack in the wall.

Thankyou. The best comment so far.unfortunately Nigeria has been turned into an ethno-regional battle field, where what you say or do is weighed against your ethnic or regional origin.

Both Amechi and Kachikwu are victors, arguing from different perspectives, one economic and the other, social.

Those who see Amaechi as a traitor are the real ethnocentric traitors against the unity and progress of Nigeria.

It's Tompolo's village na in gbaramatu kingdom. Tompolo sold 2hectares of land for 13billion naira, money they used to build complete UK universities. Well, he sold it to the hero GEJ. Hero can buy nokia 3310 for 1billion naira if his cronies are selling, that's why he's an hero.

Kachukwu is from Delta state so you can understand the debacle. He can't say otherwise even if he wanted to. Also, I think it's a ploy by the fg to continue the project and stop the Tompolo/revenger inspired agitation.

Do you know how much world class universities are built completely in the US and UK? Around 13billion naira sir. Please post us pictures of the said structures on it.The little I know, they planned to start session at one other place called Kurutie. The permanent site 2hectares where the university is to be built is not habitable yet. i stand to be corrected, kindly correct me.
You can see the link below to have idea of what they are doing with money in sane places. Note that conversion then was around 200/dollar.

See Kurutie Tompolo's village where the university was to kick off as it were.

Manner of approach is paramount when it comes to issues like this, Kachikwu can say all what Amaechi said word for word and i bet you will digest hos version better. Buying half of Lagos with 13B is just so lame coming from a transport minister.

Tokt:
Fools are talking shamelessly on this thread.
Amaechi started by saying he isn't against the project but funds aren't available for now to continue. Besides, it's not the priority because already we have two different schools already in kaduna and Oron.
Kachukwu was the one being political. The decision of this govt remain the same and him saying he will take it up in his ministry is senseless because it hasn't been budgeted for.
Amaechi went further to request that efcc retrieved the money that has been squandered on the project already. It's on record that Tompolo duped his community on this project. Fools choose to ignore this vital point but chooses to lash on shafts.
As much as okerenkoko university is a good idea and initiative, the bitter truth is is not in the priority of this govt. Case closed.
