Go to www.studera.nu you will see all you need to know abt Autum 2011 application details but note the site is in swedish language so don't forget to change it to English by clicking on English at the top part of the page.

Guys, na the sweden be dis o, we don come we don come na the language for here, anyway nigerians dey represent well for here. Guys back home, studying in sweden for autumn 2011 will be damn so expensive, its really gonna cost much to study in sweden than in the UK. an approximate 2million naira per year and about 20k application fee. For those of us that made our entry into sweden this year autumn, i salute all of us.

hi guys,please i have a big problem,I paid for student residence permit visa on the 24th of November 2010 at Intercontinental bank with the use of I-card.Then i went to the swedish embassy website to complete my registration,after registering and logging in, i headed to the payment section where i entered my pin from the i-card payment print out,after the site gave me a message saying your payment has been confirmed and transaction confirmed,something of that sort,i then proceeded to make my booking but while trying to make my booking i keep getting this message,"you have not made any payment" and whenever i try registering again with the pin it keeps saying it has been used please what can i do i need to make my booking because i want to go for interview next week tuesday,guys please help

If you live in Abuja, then it might be wise to storm the embassy otherwise you might need to call the embassy and explain your ordeal. All payments acknowledged sit in their database, or better still take your case to intercontinental bank. please I used my native name and my sure name in my receipt while my admission letter is with my english name and my sure name but all the names are in my account statement and in my application and in my passport. please will it affect my decision from immigration

I applied last year sept and did my interview last month, so I don't know how long it takes the resident to come out, have you gone for your interview ?

My dear...2-3 months is an understatement. It tool me about 1 year and 3 months ( I got mine 3 years ago)....in my own case, I and my spouse had a kid and our kid had even obtained his swedish passport through the embassy here. Waiting times have increased. Get your spouse to call the migrationsverket. ..don't just relax and wait. I wish you luck

I am currently studying a Masters in Germany and planning to do an Industrial PhD in any of the Scandinavian countries.

Do you have any idea if Sweden grants an after study permit like Germany after your PhD?

And if the stay studying on a PhD is counted towards the 5 year permanent residence.

Migrationsverket don't dwell much on the previous transactions. This does not mean there should be blatant lump sum in your account at the verge of you sending in your application. As this will obviously raise suspicion.

The focus is to see evidence (by way of bank asset in your name)that you have the required equivalence of SEK88,704 in your local currency.

It is advisable to provide( if possible) a financial statement for 3months.

I suppose your study will last for more than a year?

In this case, As a first time applicant. You need to show funds for 11months. That is 8064 x 11=88704. This is so because you will be granted 13months residence permit as a first timer which makes you eligible to register with the Swedish tax office (skatteverket) and obtain a Swedish personal number (personümmer)

If you show funds for 10months, you will be given 12months residence permit which makes you ineligible to register with the tax agency. In this case you will not get a Swedish personal number(personümmer) and consequently will not be covered by the Swedish social insurance scheme.. No free health-care. Difficulty in opening a bank account etc etc
