Thanks ceejay (and every one who has been bringing and suggestions) for making out time to bring out this setup to public domain, despite the fact that am still having problems utilising this setup, I just realized that I have not been able to put on my generator for weeks now.

A friend sold luminous battery 200 amps for me and I ve been using it directly on my 12 volts TV, 12 volts gotv decoder and 12 volts standing fan. It's been helpful to me lately.

Abeg where did you get the 12volts standing fan......can I get their contact?. Thanks

Hello Ceejay80, I got your article and find it very intersting and there is something I really would like to know, I have a UPS 1.2KVA, and you know that comes with two batteries, I have 2 more batteries making the total of 4batteries.

Ceejay with this article there is something I really would love to know, Buying the Smart Charger and a battery as said, Can I connect my four batteris with the new one of 6k making it, five (5) batteries together, to a 1.2KVA UPS and the smart charger with it too, is it going to work?
ceejay80s:
Below photo is how u extend the red and black wire from the ups to the battery outside the ups, (a used and working perfectly 650va bluegate ups without battery is sold at oshodi main market for just 1,500naira)

If I understand u correctly, u want to add a battery to the four batteries u already have to make it 5 batteries?

Ur ups is a 24v ups , all u need is 2 batteries connected in series to the ups ,any additional batteries will be connected to the batteries should be connected to the first 2 batteries in parallel,
U won't understand all these, start with 2 batteries on ur 24v ups,
And remember u are buying a 24v smart charger not 12v

Ok thank you for that correction as regard the 12v n 24v thing I see if I have to use the four batteries I must connect them Parallel and the charger as well? that mean I don't have to plug the UPS to power. Can we talk on whatsapp so I can explain myself more better and you getting to understand me.

U no longer need the 12v7ah inside the ups cos its small , just use only the 2 12v40ah

Below is pic on how to connect in series and parallel
Ur case is series ...
