haven't been able to subscribe for the plan. have over 200 naira on my line but each time i try to subscribe for the 14 day plan, it says i don't have sufficient credit. any suggestions?

I can see improved speed on uc browser for p.c but i don't think it affects file downloads which are still the same snail speed.

Same here... I thought I was the one experiencing this. I can't download even a 1mb file. Is this due to the slow network? Or airtel just don't want us to download with this plan? How then can we finish 2gb in 14 days without downloading?

Don't bother,it still crawls at snail speed and to top it all,ONCE the screen goes off your data network disappears until you on the screen again,so no background download for you..I have 2Gb wasting after I could only do 5Mb of download ALL night..#AIRTELONECHANCE

i downloaded 2 films of 700mb last night and this morning too, it took hours though... the network strength is not consistent most times a snail is 10times faster

I carefully carried out this last night and I had an impressive method to enjoy the 2g data plan from airtel.

Method;

Locate your play store, quick search for uc browser (fast browsing and downloading). Download it and start browsing now.. the speed is on 3g level. If you have the browser already, make sure its on the latest version.. groove your thing!

It simply means that your settings is on 3G. Change to 2G ASAP. Waste of money and time.

Head over to Settings menu and tap on ‘More..’. On tapping,you could find the option ‘Mobile networks’. On selecting this option you could find an option to enable or disable mobile data which means that you could use this path also to enable or disable mobile data in your android. Now to toggle between 2G and 3G networks, select the option “Preferred network type”. On selecting this option,you will get a pop-up with options which will let you switch between 2G and 3G networks.

Note: In few devices we will get a pop-up comprising of the options GSM, WCDMA and GSM/WCDMA. If you select GSM, you will be connected to 2G network. where and when did airtel tell u that the plan is for phone with edge network only, they said the plan works on 2g network only nt phone with 2g only. Mind u mtn and etisalat edge network is pretty fast.
