Though i don't know this part of Lekki (I live and work here), I can confidently tell you blocked drainages are responsible for more than 90% of the flooding experienced here.

Everybody na big man for here, no body tries to clear the gutter in front of their houses. Or one tipper would just empty sand/gravel inside the gutter because one big oga wants to start building or carry out renovation. All the residents association knows is to go about collecting levies and contesting elections.

So lekki now has a 7 Eleven with a motorway bridge in it ...hmmm I am getting u . Some of these pics are 3 to 4 years old .

The areas that never flood is the real lekki phase 1 sand filled during mike akhigbes tenure as lagos state govenor, the drain gradients were properly measured and adhered to . All other areas that were attached to it were not were not properly surveyed and not filled to the right level hence the constant water logging and flood.

The container area of lekki phase 1 has never flooded one day since 1999. Most of the area u see tht are flooded are Osapa london and argungi and the former lekki phase 2 tht people now call phase 1
