See your foolishness, other means of generating energy? but why not advice Jonathan to do as you said for 5 good years he served.

Okay, agreed he failed by your statement, because not this one year you want (Buhari) other means of generating energy.

Obasanjo started work in 2005, so what??

2016, it has not finished..

Former president Obasanjo does not seem to have anything to do with the bridge apparently. Where did you get your own information?

GEJ, TRANSFORMING NIGERIA. Loko – Oweto bridge (bridge in Nasarawa and Benue states. The bridge will boost economic activities between Loko and Oweto and the completion would reduce time from Abuja to South East as the road will burst out at Otukpa Junction close to Enugu State.) will be completed by 2015 says the brilliant Minister of works, Onolememen
(make una show me Buhari bridge ohhhh!! Or Buhari anything. He dey government for ten years as Gov of Borno, Minister of petroleum, NNPC boss, Head of State and PTF oga. He controlled trillions. Where him legacy? Why no pictures? where they substandard? Is it because he and his inlaw made a mess of all the projects, so none stands? What were they?)
The Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolememen has assured Nigerians that the construction of Loko – Oweto Bridge will be completed by 2015.
He made this assurance during an inspection visit to the site and was accompanied by the Director (Highways), North Central and other delegates from the Ministry recently.
Arc. Onolememen disclosed that the project awarded to Messrs RCC Nig Ltd on 2ndNov., 2011 at a cost of approximately 36 billion did not take off on time due to issues bothering on change of project alignment necessitated by the need to avoid difficult terrain over which the alignment initially traversed and also abnormal high water level occasioned by the unusual flood of the 2012 rainy season which has now been adequately addressed with the ongoing work.
The Minister revealed that upon re-design, the contract now consists of the construction of two dual carriage bridges across River Benue with 3.88km long approach at Loko end in Nasarawa State and 3.09km lond approach road at Oweto in Benue State.
Arch. Onolememen assured that the funding of the project will not be a problem as the project is now under (Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE P) and 30 billion has already been allocated to the project in fulfilment of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda in the Road Sector. He reiterated the President’s commitment to the completion of the road for easy movement of people, goods and services, from the South-East geo-political zone to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja by 2015. He commended the contractor for the quality of work done so far which he said is moving in accordance to the contract specification. He directed Messrs. RCC to increase the tempo of work.
The Minister revealed that the bridge will boost economic activities between Loko and Oweto and the completion would reduce time from Abuja to South East as the road will burst out at Otukpa Junction close to Enugu State.
After the inspection, the Minister paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Loko, Alhaji Abu Sabo Ahmed, where he appealed to the Emir, to ensure that the indigenes allow the contractor to carry out construction work on the road and for his support on the project.
The Emir in his response appreciated the visit of the Minister and expressed the satisfaction of his people with the transformation agenda of Mr. President which has remembered them and made them fill the presence of government since 1926 when Lord. Lugard was using Loko as his meeting point with the leaders from Northern Nigeria.

A 2 year project started in 2005 is not complete in 2016.

Obasanjo initiated it in 2005
GEJ had 5 years to complete it, he did not
Buhari should complete it

The three men might deserve some credit but it is an indictment on Nigeria that 11 years after a project started it is not complete.

Fashola has only been minister for one year, do u know how long it will take to diversify our power source? To build a solar or wind or hydro plant should take notin less than 3yrs. We have relied on gas over the yrs, u dont expect fashola to change our source of energy within one yr. And gas is still a very clean and is more efficient than solar wind and hydro.
Ur comment shows ur are not an intelligent person, cus no intelligent person will write this thrash u wrote.

so... isn't it time we started translating from depending solemnly on power plants that rely on gas. I mean I feel fucking irritated well you make ppl think that getting stable electricity or energy is a fucking big deal. I knw of an engineering student that powered my hostel then with a fucking truck battery. We paid N500 per month for maintenance. The Bleep is so difficult in generating power when apple factories in China rely on solar energy to power their factories; Wtf is so difficult about generating power!
There's nothing difficult in it jare my brother, But it took your hero 6yrs without achieving anything in power sector, It took PDP 16yrs without achieving anything too.

Bro let's b realistic, the guy is tryin but circumstances behind are drawing things back. We need more power plants that are not Gas and they are on it. Example is th one they say it wil take 53months to complete (3500mega watt). Let's be hopeful

23 out of the 26 power plants in Nigeria are gas powered.

Power plants take time to build. You can not be blowing gas pipelines and expect power.

It is not Fashola's fault that we are so dependent on gas.

You forgot the part that the system collapse began b4 NDA began to do serious harm to the gas supply system, same system built by tge GEJ administration via the GAS REVOLUTION project. And it's quite funny & hypocritical that you folks are quick to absolve Fashola of the same issues (sabotage) you insulted GEJ over despite the fact that the later outperformed other administrations in the power sector reforms. Funny.

Don't u tink ur nuisance value ought to hv expired by now?....because u possibly hv a 1kva scrap u call an inverter u tink all current power stations shd b scrapped & converted to solar powered stations in just 1yr & serve 160m nigerians?....Mr douche-bag!!! Altho we knw solar energy is clean but how efficient is it as a main grid & FYI developed countries still use gas powered stations.
