In my own area, there use to be light untill recently that i can spend 5 straight days without seeing a blink of federal government's rocketed investment in the power sector... My problem is, why aren't people talking about this? Why is it ok to have zero power generation?

You are blaming the wrong people. Every Nigerian needs to stand in front of a mirror. That is who to blame. Do you really think this just started? I don't know how old you are, but it's been like this since independence. Nigeria has never had a period in it's history where it had a weeks power supply. And that is over half a century. Smh.

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has notified electricity consumers in Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom States that the National Power Grid has collapsed.

The Head of Corporate Communications of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, Jonah Iboma revealed that PHED is now receiving zero power from the national grid as a result of the collapse which occurred on Sunday, 19 June.

He said the implication of the collapse of the national grid is that most cities in the four states are now witnessing blackout.

Iboma added that PHED would source for power from other alternative sources to mitigate the impact of the collapse of the National Grid on electricity consumers in Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

He also said PHED would distribute the little power it is able to generate from alternative sources within this period to only customers who are willing to pay.

PHED oversees electricity supply to the four States of Akwa-Ibom, Cross Rivers and Rivers, Bayelsa.

In Rivers State consumers have started experiencing insufficient power supply, especially in areas that power supply was adequate.

Advantage of the grid system , which yeye grid collapse . Since the region has contributed to the low power generation experience in the country , the best we can do is to cut them off and transport power to where it is needed .

I hate to be partisan when passing my view but that region is a total explanation to why the country is in darkness.

You so ignorant and academically shallow! How does the present administration affect the collapsed grid?

Quit getting carried away by propaganda and speak about the real problem that is relevant to now. Propaganda is distraction and mostly the opinion of illiterates whom can't technically or logically deduct matters arising from conspiracy theories so let me guess, you a graduate right? Then act like one, perceive the world like one too.

My broda. What is governance? Has the country had it this bad? NDA fault o, Fashola fault o. It really doesn't matter. We have not had it dis bad. Governance is managing resources. People, finances and all. They have failed to manage things. So, do we blame ourselves and free Fash and PMB?

Obasanjo privatized telecommunication: drastic changes follows. Notwithstanding yearly huge allocation for power sector in the past sixteen years, where is the resultant effect of privatization done by GEJ? Whatever Ineffectual Buffon did always has K-Leg: I am not surprised.

Dont explain governance to him yet.He is well learned. He is reasoning like a graduate. And he knew so much about propaganda.
Start by telling him that singling niger delta out as the affected region is propaganda.teach him that all regions are having it bad and so the announcement is quite uncalled for(we already know). Teach him propaganda exists even in the vatican city and saudi arabia.
I wonder the kind of graduates we produce this days, and they will first attack you with comments like "you are ignorant " "you are a fool" "your thinking stinks" ... even when they lack reasoning capacity.

Are you this daft? Why not ask for the meaning of national power grid before exposing your ignorance here
Do those people that have power not connected to the national grid? My friend, we now have independent power projects (or plants) (IPP) across the country that are powered by gas. Gone are the days when we all got power from a single source in Kainji Dam. When the water in the dam reduced or there was vandalism, the whole country went in darkness. That cannot be said today. Keep praising the militants.
