doll912: I have one wife and she is enough for me . My main point and reason for this debate is to debunk the false comment made by some religious folk here which says that a man who has 4 wives and children is mandated to keep only the first one and chase away the other three after he becomes 'born again ' so called. I strongly disagree with this position because it is unscriptural. That been said, I agree with you logic , and in these days it is more healthy to have one wife but if anyone decides to marry another wife and there is mutual consent without the putting away of any existing wife, then this is not SIN. |

the right thing for that man to do in Christian way is that he should stay with the legal wife whether she is Muslim or not, and the second wife should leave the matrimonial home and go and rent an apartment and the husband will only do is responsible for their children but nothing must come between them again na his only responsible for the children he must do. for example in old testament when God told Abraham to send the maid away is because the slave is not legally married or I can say God did not see her as Abraham wife even with ismahi his son even Bible called him a bastard child. u know is not as if he does not have father but God did not support it that is why he called that child bastard son. so in a proper way that is how they teach me in my Christian way. |

doll912: Not really, how can one be righteous and evil at the same time Please do not add to the word of God. Paul never gave a commandment of ONE MAN and ONE WIFE, besides Paul is not GOD. Abraham took another wife in addition to Sarah , yet he was called a friend of God. How many men who have only ONE WIFE in these last days can be called a friend of God, most of them are hypocrites and perverts. Genesis 25:1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. This is the main reason why many men cheat on their wives, pastors sleep with their members and all sorts of confusion being perpetuated in the name of religious. It is utter madness. |

A Homosexual Sees Those Christians Against It (the act) Also As Being "Indoctrinated"..They Will Also Tell Me To Study The Bible On My Own, so as to understand it properly. They will Even Quote Some Scriptures To Coroborate That It Isn't A Sin..of course,by the way, the gay's who get married are joined by a robe wearing priest. using the holy bible to join an unholy union an abomination!,.anyway, you dont need to be rational to understand the bible, its not science, its plain as A, B, C..man was created free, with the ability to choose his own path.whatever path he chooses he alone should be ready to bear the consequenses at the end.. |

searchng4love:. Now I Understand What Your Point/Problem Is. You Want "FREEDOM". you wanna do as you like, you wanna be YOUR OWN BOSS. you wanna be YOUR OWN VERSION of a christian, not JESUS'S/ THE BIBLE'S OWN VERSION.. paul, peter and the other apostles/followers carried on from where christ stopped.. they knew him physically and spiritually they HAD HIS SPIRIT.which is also the same spirit in Jesus and same spirit that SHOULD be in anyone that says he is a follower of christ..the truth is one and the same thing..wether from jesus or paul. because its the same spirit in JESUS that Got paul converted. |

phillip001: 1. God doesn't like putting away of any sort. Matthew 19 vs 8 says, He saith unto them, Moses BECAUSE OF THE HARDNESS OF YOUR HEART suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. 2. I hear you, but consider this in Proverbs 28 vs 18, it says, He that covereth his sin (adultery, in this case) shall not prosper: but whoso CONFESSETH and FORSAKETH (forsake here means doing away with the sin, which is adultery here) them shall have mercy. Now, let me clarify. Doing away with them, not having sex with them does not mean you cannot cater for them. You just let them know that they are not your wives again, except the first one, but you'll cater for them and their children, and that they can even marry if they wish. But performing the role of your wife, MBA, that's not possible. 3. Wait, how did they marry? Where did they marry? Consider this in John 14 vs 26, But the Comforter, which is the HOLY GHOST, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS [including that the wife you want to marry does not have a womb or your husband is impotent. Failure to believe and you're OYO], and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 4. In the case of domestic violence, you can stay away from your husband or wife BUT NOT DIVORCE her. Let me tell you, Jesus said even if you put your wife away because of fornication, it is still THE HARDNESS OF YOUR HEART. You can only stay away and pray that God change your husband or wife. Anything except that and you'll sell your birthright, which is your salvation. Paul the Apostle said you can divorce, but not remarry. I ASK YOU, IF YOU DIVORCE, CAN YOU STAY THAT WAY 'TIL YOUR PARTNER DIES? I guess not. So, to be on the safer side, you can stay away from your violent husband or wife, if you see that your life is in danger. God can still change him or her. I Corinthians 7 says, 10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, LET HER REMAIN UNMARRIED, or BE RECONCILED TO HER HUSBAND: and let not the husband PUT AWAY HIS WIFE. |

Nowhere in my text did I say not live with. Some of those wives may be old. The man has to cater for them and their children. BUT NOT HAVE SEX WITH THEM. And they are no more his wives. 1 Like |

coolniyi99: 1 Corinthians 7 vs 2 says, Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let EVERY MAN have his own WIFE [not wives], and let every woman have have her own HUSBAND [not husbands]. My friend, do you know the meaning of singular and plural? WIFE means singular. WIVES means plural. So is HUSBAND singular and HUSBANDS plural. So, you mean you can delibrately break this rule, right? and gather your OWN WIVES? |

They were never married) can marry their own husband. REGARDLESS OF WHAT PEOPLE SAY. If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to mention me. |
Re: If A Man Has Multiple Wives And Becomes A Christian, What Is He Supposed To Do? by Timm: 11:22am On Jun 22, 2016 |
According to the bible, if you have two wives, you have committed adultery. Jesus extended the definition of adultery to include sexual relations between a married man and a woman other than his wife (Mark 10:11-12, Luke 16:18). Other New Testament teachings also understand it that way (1 Corinthians 6:15-16, 1 Corinthians 7:2 ). Therefore, for Christians, adultery is the sin of a married man having sexual relations with anyone other than his wife or a married woman having sexual relations with anyone other than her husband. Adultery is one of the most frequently and severely condemned sins in the Bible. Adultery is mentioned 52 times, including in the Ten Commandments, all four Gospels, and ten other books of the Bible. Only the sins of idolatry, self-righteousness and murder are mentioned more often. You shall not commit adultery. (NIV, Exodus 20:14) But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself. (NIV, Proverbs 6:32) For out of the heart come evil intentions, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile.” (NRSV, Matthew 15:19–20) WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MARRYING TWO WIVES. 1 Timothy 3:2 ESV Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach. Luke 16:18 ESV “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery. Ephesians 5:31 ESV “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” There are many examples of polygamy in the Bible. The first person to be a polygamist was Lamech (Genesis 4:19-24). He lived six generations after Adam. He was a murderer. Nothing good is said about him. Abraham was also a polygamist (Genesis 16:1-5). His wife, Sarai, was unable to have children. She gave her slave, Hagar, to be Abraham’s wife. Hagar had children for Abraham. Sarah then became jealous of Hagar. This marriage was then full of troubles. Another polygamist was Esau. He was the firstborn of Isaac and Rebekah. Esau married two Hittite women (Genesis 26:33-34). They caused much grief to Isaac and Rebekah. Polygamist marriages affect more than just the man and his wives. Gideon was a great and brave leader. He had 70 sons from many wives (Judges 8:30-31). What kind of a father could he be to 70 sons? Not the kind that God wants us to be. King Solomon had 700 wives, princesses, and 300 concubines. His wives turned his heart away from God (1 Kings 11:3). His downfall as a king was a result of his practice of polygamy. Nowhere in the Bible can we find polygamy doing any good. Everything that is said about it shows it causes troubles. That has not changed. Today polygamy still causes many marriage problems for those who practice it. Let us see some Bible principles that teach against the practice of polygamy. Genesis 2:23-24 says that a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife. God did not say that man was to be joined to his “wives.” He said that man was to be joined to his wife. That is one and only one! Paul compares the husband and wife to Christ and the church: For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church... (Ephesians 5:23). In Ephesians 1:22-23 we are told that the church is the body of Christ. There is only one body (Ephesians 4:4) so there is only one church. A man can have as many wives as Christ has churches. Christ has only one church so a man can have only one wife. Nowhere does the Bible speak of a man (one) being over wives (many) and that being right with God. Matthew 19:3-9 speaks about divorce. Jesus Christ shows that God never wanted man (or woman) to divorce. The same is true with polygamy. God does not want a man to have more than one wife. Jesus said that a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. Jesus spoke of one man and one woman marrying. He said that marriage is made up of one man and one woman. The two make one flesh. When a man has more than one wife he is sinning. God hates sin. If we are to go by the submisisons above....... That is living within the provision of the bible, you may need to do restitution. To restitute you need to separate from your second wife. Because, in the face of the bible your first wife is the one acceptable in the sight of God. I know this will be very difficult, but you may need to take the step. By taking your wives to your new church, let them both listen to the word of God. And, gradually you explain to them the need for the change. You may involve your pastor and the church leadership. They will give you the proper guidance. |

Majority got it wrong just because they didn't Know the term "CHRISTIAN/CHRISTIANITY".And the different between OLD TESTAMENT/NEW TESTAMENT. Anyone Reffering To Abraham, Jacob, Moses And Isaac as a Christian can never get it right. The Solutions To This Are: 1, Try To Know And Have Basic Understanding Of What Is Called CHRISTIAN{ACT 11:1-30). 2, WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?, I mean the general overview of Jesus Christ (from Birth, His Mission, His Death & His Ressurection. 3, WHAT IS NEW TESTAMENT / WHY DO WE HAVE NEW TESTAMENT??. By getting to find answers to these questions, i am very sure u'll Know What It Takes To Become A Christian & How To Live Your Life As A Christian. You'll Surely Know The Truth( John 8:32} .God Bless You All. SHALOM!! |
