This is not a story that i'm writing but a story that i'm playing, i'll be posting the after action report of my game play, but before i start i'd love to explain CK2 to you guys.

This is a grand strategy game that allows you to play as any christian dynasty of your choice in medieval europe, you can pick a date between 15 september 1066 to 1 january 1335 and play until 1435, in this aar i'll be playing as house de dax and i'll be keeping you guys updated on my yearly playthrough.

Prologue
It is the year 1066 and in the far north of the kingdom of france lies the county of dax, in dax are three holdings; the barony of dax ruled by the count of dax: Count Raimond Arnaut of Dax, the city of Bayonne ruled by Mayor Nicolau of Bayonne and the Bishopric of Aire ruled by Bishop Ebles of Aire.

Our story is about the present count of dax, count Raimond whose family has been ruling france since 980, count Raimond is 56 years old and is presently unmarried but he has children who were born due to a relationship with a lovet, he has two sons; Navar de Dax who is the Chancellor of Dax and is 23 years old and young Arnaut de Dax who is 11 years old, count Raimond is ready to change the way the situation of Dax is and is ready to find greener pastures.

1066
The year is at the verge of ending and count Raimond decides that his first action would be to find himself a young and reputabnle wife, he searches the realm and finds the young princess of the byzantine empire; Princess Adelheid Salian sister to the Kaiser of the byzantine emperor, within five days of receiving my marriage proposal Kaiser Heinrich accepts and sends me his sister to become my wife, with her he sent 6 gold and 18 silver coins to as a dowry, i humbly accept it and thank himn for his generosity.

Getting married to a princess had largely increased my prestige and had boosted my name in the known world, i just remembered that my son and heir Navar was also unmarried so i decide to arrange a nice wife for him, i send my chancellor to find a pretty lady for my son and he returns with great news, he informs me that Princess Lanka of Hungary was unmarried, i quickly send a letter to King Geza of Hungary her brother and within 16 days he sends a messenger to me informing me that he would be very glad to accept my request, arriving with his messenger was the lovely princess Lanka and a dowry of 6 gold and 66 silver coins, i ask the messenger to thank him for me and he leaves for Hungary.

On 5 November 1066 a group mof robbers calling themself the Band O'Brothers was brought to me by my marshal, he handed me a parchment that contained a long list of crimes commited by the group, i took a look at the criminals and only one thought came to my mind, i ordered my marshal to make sure that they would pay amercement and the money would go to him and my spymaster as a form of gratitude for their hardwork, he thanks me and takes the criminals away.

Two days later my nephew Arnaut de Dax(he bears the same name as my second son) sends a plea to me saying that he wants to become a chancellor, i refused to reply to him since he didn't specifically say that he wanted to become my chancellor.

To avoid any problems with my nephew i decided to get him married, i contacted the duke of Aquitaine; Duke Guilhem de Poitou(he is also my liege lord), he smiles to me when i ntabnle the request and says, 'i'd love to have you as an inlaw', i was happy he accepted but i knew he was lieing, he didn't like me one bit but he didn't hate me too much either, within 5 days he sends Aines his neice to dax.

That's how the first year ended, get ready for 1067

I walked straight to my two vassals; Baron nicolau and Bishop Ebles while they paid their monthly homage to me, i made a decree to them saying that from now on they would send me the maximum number of their levies during wars, without saying a word they left my keep and left for their holdings, their action was an insult to me but i had to act wisely and let them go without saying na word.

I took a ride around my holding to keep my mind away from the turmoils at court, while riding i took a look at my holding and saw that it needed some serious improvements, i rode back to my keep and asked for my steward, he was sent for and within a few minutes he stood before me,
'Nicolau, how much do we have in our treasury?' i asked
'59 Gold coins my lord' he replied
i sighed and said 'how much would it cost and how long would it take to build a wooden palisade in Dax?'
'it would cost ten gold coins and take 171 days my lord'
'vey well then' i said 'order the master builder to raise some men to begin the construction of a wooden palisade and you will oversee the construction'
he bowed and said 'your wish is my command', he left the court.

I sat in my court on the 20th of April when a thought came into my mind, the wife of my liege had no liking towards me and i had to take her away from the scene before she whispers something bad about me to the ear of the duke, i immediately created a plot on how to kill her, my plot looked perfect and i believed that she would surely die the moment i implement it but i wasn't powerful enough to make the plot work, i need to call some people who hate the duchess to my aid, i look around for people that could help me in my plot but i could find none, it was either they didn't like me enough or they were too craven that the duke would find out, i decided to leave my devious ambition for now but i wasn't going to abandon my plot.

On 30th may as i was walking around my gardens a palace servant walked towards me and bent the knee, he raised his two hands and handed me a parchment,
'm'lord a messenger arrived today from the construction site with this letter from the steward'
i took the parchment from him and replied 'you may leave'
he left the garden and i opened the letter, it read thus:
To the lord of Dax, defender of the Commoners and Upholder of peace, i have written this letter to inform you that the assignment which you had given to me has been completed.
I smiled and walked to my court, i ordered for a quail feather, ink and paper to be brought to me and within a few minutes a servant brought it to me, i wrote:
To my honourable Steward and Baron of Bayonne, you have done me proud and have done really well but your task is not yet completed, i have decided to order that you upgrade you upgrade the wooden palisade and you may take all the gold needed from the county treasury.
I handed the letter to the servant and ordered him to send it to my steward at the construction site, he bowed and left, i smiled to myself for a job well done.

I sat in my court and felt very bored, life felt boring and every thing felt tiresome so i decided to go on some hunting in order to cheer myself, i went into the forest with some of my courtiers, our hunt seemed fun at first but after riding for hours without finding any game it felt boring as well, after some minutes more we got to an opening and my horse threw me off, it was emnbarassing and ni nfelt humiliated but none of my courtiers dared to laugh, after that ordeal i ordered my courtiers to join me home, when we returned back to the court i ordered for a falconer to be brought to me and it was much better than i had expected, i smiled at the way nthe falcons flew and enjoyed it at the end, i decided to become an aspiring falconer until something better would happen.

On 1st November a messenger arrived with a letter, he handed the folded letter to me and bowed then turned around and left, i opened the letter and read its content, it was from my Steward at the construction site, he had just finished upgrading the wooden palisade and was asking for permission to return back to court, i laughed at the content nof the letter and then told my son Navar to reply his letter telling him to build a low stone wall in place of of the wooden palisade, i pondered on how Nicolau's face would be when he would receive the letter, although i enjoyed making Nicolau suffer we need the stone wall in order to protect ourselves from external attacks.

Ebles my court Chaplain and Bishop of Aire came to me asking me to appoint a heir to the Bishopric, i asked him to call those he believed were good enough, he called; Navar, Chancellor of de Dax and my heir, Astenove, Spymaster of Dax, Bernard-Ezi, Marshal of Dax, Arnaut a Courtier in Dax and my nephew and Amanieu a Courtier Dax, i decidee to favour my Marshal since he was already married with kids so it wouldn't be a problem for him( Bishops don't marry).
