Thank you bro, i have eventually been to the teleperformance office at ikeja, met with some agent , made some enquiry. tho they are things i can handle myself. interestingly and funny, some of the agent believes ikeja collections are treated in lagos with assistance of some individuals who understand our country more , thereby the high success rate . And that the V/I centre collections are treated in UK where our African ways are not well understood. please how true are these statements? 2n2k: 1 Like |

If one applies for a priority visa (Visit) in Ikeja, how long does it take to to get an appointment booked (for document submission) and the overall time taken to get the visa? Thanks in anticipation. |

Dear all, please I want to get a clarification about land survey. I My land survey from Osun State does not have the 'cloth' that is always behind the usual surveys. I called the survey office in Osun State and it wasConfirmed that it is like that in Osun state. Has anyone had same before. I am asking this so that my own case will not be different when I'm doing the application. Someone should advice please. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by 2n2k(m): 8:33pm On Jun 24, 2016 |
lexyj123: Visa applications especially for general visit visa cannot be handled outside Nigeria. While you fill the form online, supporting documents are hard copies. So how will they take such physical documents to UK and return them within a week Lagos especially VI get delayed because of many numbers of applicants. Note that over 70% of applicants get decisions within 5 working days if you apply in Abuja while less than that percentage get decisions within a whooping 10 working days in Lagos (Ikeja and VI) |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 11:27pm On Jun 24, 2016 |
2n2k: Do you have any evidence to support that? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by 2n2k(m): 3:34am On Jun 25, 2016 |
justwise: What evidence are you asking for? I gave the logic behind that statement immediately after the statement. It was a response made in the context of the point raised by the person I quoted; that some agents believe that decision on visas submitted in VI is handled in the UK while those submitted in Ikeja are handled in Nigeria. It surely does not mean that visa applications are not made in other countries outside Nigeria. Context matters 1 Like |

FrontPageLawyer: This is applicable if you are using 'old' visa portal - www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk If you apply using the 'new service' - www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration, The Standard Visitor visa has replaced the following Family Visitor visa General Visitor visa Child Visitor visa Business Visitor visa, including visas for academics, doctors and dentists Sports Visitor visa Entertainer Visitor visa Prospective Entrepreneur visa Private Medical Treatment Visitor visa Approved Destination Status (ADS) visa I observed that most posters are still using the old service. That is why questions are asked about " How much do you have for this trip?" Or "What is your monthly income in pound sterling?". All these confusing questions have been removed from the form in the new service. Also, they removed questions about breakdown of the costs of vacation into flight, hotel etc. Just the total is required. If you are using the new service (which gives drop down choices of pound or naira), it is advisable in the light of floating exchange rate to state your annual income (which is what is asked for) as well as monthly routine expenses in naira while the cost of your stay in UK is better stated in pound sterling after all that is what you are going to spend there. With this method, you won't bother if naira suddenly take a dive while you have used a particular forex rate. It should be noted that under new service you cannot make multiple applications on one account (e.g. applying for members of family). What you will do is to make separate applications under separate accounts on www.gov.uk. After that, you go to Teleperformance website to create a single account and add all the other members of the group using the GWF generated from the gov.uk site. Infact it is a must that all members of a family traveling together must use the same account on Teleperformance if they are applying at the same time. I used the new service for my family and I. Our visas came out within 5 days in Abuja- did biometrics on Monday, received decision mail on Thursday, collected passports on Friday. No priority added value service. 2 Likes |

2n2k: That is just speculation, when you say that application made in that centre can not be handle outside Nigeria i thought you have a very strong evidence to back that up |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:33am On Jun 25, 2016 |
lexyj123: There is no truth in that, just dodgy visa agents trying to get clients. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by 2n2k(m): 8:35am On Jun 25, 2016 |
justwise: You have evidence that applications submitted in VI are treated in UK while that of Ikeja are treated in Nigeria I limited my intervention to general visit visas |

2n2k: So are you saying its better to use the new service,I tried it and it seem totally different and straightforward from the old one. Any suggestions. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by 2n2k(m): 9:43am On Jun 25, 2016 |
Dammy112: As you said, it is more 'straightforward' as it removes confusing questions. However, bear in mind that the UK authorities did not say it will confer special advantage on the applicants using the new service over the old one. |

Hello NL, I need advice and inputs on how to go about my issue the right way.. I gave my passport to an agent in 2012 to apply for schengen(France) and he insisted that I needed To beef up f passport as it was too bare and I could get a Kenyan visa on it to increase my chances.. I told him to go ahead without investigating that Kenyan stamps were given at POE.i didn get the France visa and didn bother. Fast forward 2013 and I applied for UK visa and decided I wasn't using an agent and would just follow the rules.i used the same passport(didn know the Kenya visa was fake) and applied for UK in Abuja. I met all d requirements and was keeping my fingers crossed..it began to take too long and I sent them a mail only for them to respond that my passport had been impounded and would be sent to NIS as they were investigating the Kenya visa and believe it to be fake. Now am married to a UK citizen and want to apply for spousal visa and need to know what steps to take. A lengthy post cos I want honest and fair opinions..no need to critic and start unnecessary talks if it's not constructive..the agent in question has admitted his fraudulent act and all lessons has been learnt . So just advice on way forward please...cc@ justwise and all the experts |

EvaMD: I suggest that you contact the Embassy with all your details and PP number if possible Ask them if a ban has been issued. Best to know this first. Then you can apply for spousal visa stating all the facts. 1 Like |

I was reading through travel section and came across ur message. This is my first comment on NL and I have to do this because I knew exactly what u were talking about...my younger brother's wife was in the same mess and I knew exactly how he resolved it. The first step is to inform the agent to write a letter in support of ur application stating what happened and for him to accept all the blame...let him show a regretful acknowledgement of the offence. The second step is to tell ur wife to write to her local MP how she is mentally disturbed about what happened to her husband and u can now attach the reply of the MP to ur spouse visa application. Also I would like u to note that ur spouse visa will be treated separately from ur visiting visa...u are a partner of a British citizen and that qualified u for spouse visa. The chance of getting the visa is 50-50 and even if the application is refused u will definitely be given an option to appeal and ur wife can now represent u at the tribunal. I am 100% sure that if u follow this process u will be with ur wife soon. Best of luck bro EvaMD: 2 Likes 1 Share |

How old are we talking about . It is not a bad idea to have a letter of consent..... processing time is on gov.uk website ..... Question1: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 2:20pm On Jun 27, 2016 |
You will need to use the additional information box or write a personal letter explaining your situation. Let them know how remorosely you were about what happened. let them know your situation.. and do not lie about it ... Dont be too wordy about it ... but take responsibility about it and express how you intend not to make this silly mistakes anymore. They tend to understand when one come clean... Make sure everything you will be submitting now is on point.... because they will scrutinize all your documents...so do everything perfectly and leave everything else to GOD... you are just unlucky with them noticing the fake Kenya visa... Good luck. You have a chance .. i have seen ppl whom had worse case than you and still got there settlement visa so be positive. EvaMD: 1 Like |
