My brother, the average Nigerian man is so far removed from these scenarios you are painting here.

Funny enough, the regions were better organised in 1966.

As things stand, being a believer in Federalism, I trust Federal Govt more than State Govt.

State Governors currently have all powers of Federalism except Police, Army and Fiscal Federalism.

Regardless, revenue allocations under the current structure are not far from what they would be under Fiscal Federalism. The States have mismanaged what they have received completely. The only Govts guaranteed to pay wages these days are Federal Govt and about 6 states of the Federation.

We can't be screaming Federalism and holding the centre to account when we have not impacted our local Govts that have failed us.

They have failed in every aspect handed to them, from sanitation to security to fiscal management of what they have given.

Niggas like Tinubu ain't even our problem. He instituted the only Govt running on Federalist principles today - and that is Lagos State. If Lagos gets no Federal allocation for the next 5 years, they will be alright because their IGR dwarfs Federal Allocation by 3 to 1.

I don't think the average Nigerian is that oblivious of his immediate environment. We all know the right things to do but will easily default because of some perceived persecution or support for 'our' own the moment we notice an 'external' push. This is because 99.999% Nigerians are patriotic first to their various clans with little or nothing reserved for the entity called Nigeria. Everyone targets how to get into government positions to steal for their immediate & extended families.

While you claim to trust the FG, the very next family in your village will claim point blank that the FG should not bother earning his trust - again based on the perceived tribe of the ruling group.

This still brings us back to true federalism. When FG gather proceeds from everyone & then disburse same back in ratio of how they deem fit, there is easy diverting of masses attention from the state & local governments to how much another 'undeserving' zone has collected instead of how they can use the resources for developments.
Now due to the inherent distrust, agitations are channeled to perceived bias which are usually tribal/religiously whipped. But when the control is within, no foolish elected person will just squander revenues because he knows eyes are on his works, "the voice of the patriotic people is the voice of God".

The inability to pay salaries today is because of dependence on oil & hand outs from the center. There are actually many Republicans that are in my court which is why we have a "Never Trump" movement in the Republican party headed by Mitt Romney. even Speaker Ryan. Most of the Republican leaders don't really like Trump and many of them are boycotting the convention next month. Then he remembers that A's children were always dressed up in rubbish cheap clothes and were quite razz. He loves A but he doesnt like their kids mixing. B knows he can afford a decent crib elsewhere...so he moves out.

A is now left with the estate he cannot afford to fix, and cannot afford to vacate. A and his kids spend all their money struggling to keep the roof of the estate from collapsing over their heads. A and his wife develop health problems from the stressthat prevent them from working so they lose their jobs. Most wars are necesary. America is the number 1 country in the world. They are because of their military strenght and economy and with that position of number 1 comes a lot of hatred. America not fighting wars would not stop Al qaeda, ISIS, Hezbollah, Hamas Boko Haram, Al Shabbab from trying to attack them. Was Belgium fighting wars? Yet some people thought it was right to kill some Belgians, Madrid train bombing Spain was not fighting wars, Even India was attacked by terrorists. SO which of the safety net is more important than others? Is it providing food in form of food stamps, Affordable housing, Giving money to unemployed. For old and disabled I can support but not for able bodied poor people

if I ask you how many kids do you want you might say 4 or less because thats all you can take care of, Thats personal responsibility, some people of your age already have 15 because govt would take care of them and how would govt take care of them? By taking from you who decided to have just 2

Left to me, if you are poor, your reproductive ability must be curbed also.
If you are unemployed and want free govt stuff, then lets create a govt farm or where you can work and qualify for these benefits.
