I totally concur with Liftedhands(mum ekene), I generously apply ori when ds had on his face and it clears within the shortest period cos I reapply as often as possible.

I hear it's better than falling ill and signals strong immune system ( grandma tales)

Gudday mama's... n a big congrats 2all who av given birth. We eagerly await ur BS. As 4me, sooooo depressed and sad, cos Dh is not helping issues at all maybe he thinks I am pretending,he complains abt everything,somtyms I get so pissed. My head aches like kilode, I feel constantly weak, can't eat any meal I prepare. Infact food stuff has this awful smell 2me. Yet he wants me 2make his meal 4him. Woke up on Tuesday (22nd), feeling very strong and positive, and even told my mum and hubby jokingly that I was going to have my baby that day.

I noticed again that I was having the "so called" BH contractions again, but this time around, they were quite regular, I timed them, and they were about 13-10 minutes apart and absolutely PAINLESS, as I only felt intense pressure...

I kept timing them, and by noon, they were about 8 minutes apart and then, by evening, they were 5 minutes apart...
It was then I realized I was in labor, cos there was no way on earth I could be having BH contractions constantly, all day, and 5 minutes apart...
I became scared, cos I felt I would end up having my baby at home...

I didn't want to call hubby during the day, cos I didn't want him to panic, and there was no one to take me to the hospital...
Nevertheless, I took a shower, brushed my teeth and waited.

I checked the time, it was about past 10pm, so I called hubby and told him. He was still on the way, and the cabman who we arranged with was even farther away...
At this time, my contractions were 3 minutes apart and I felt very intense pressure and the feeling of wanting to poo, then I knew I was in trouble...
I was almost swearing for the doctor who asked me not to come to the hospital except I was in pain, cos even at 3 minutes apart, my contractions were still painless...

By the time my hubby and the cabman got to the house, my contractions were 2 minutes apart, but hubby was suggesting that we wait till morning, but I refused, cos I was so sure I was in labor...
I told him I would prefer to get to the hospital, get checked and be sent back, rather than sit at home and do guess work...

I called the hospital, and the nurse on duty told me to come, cos I might actually be in labor and not feel pain (finally, someone was making sense)...

The cabman arrived at 12am, Wednesday morning , and the journey began...
During the ride to the hospital, I placed my hand on my belly and realised that my very active baby had not moved all day...

Lifted hands and dunasy....thanks and I have plenty ori from preggy days. But mumsy hates it. She says it doesn't make baby smell like baby. I will rub it for her now.

She should do scans and monitor the baby constantly when she is full term. Some people will wait till the baby has swallowed meconium before birthing. Maybe, they don't want a CS. There could be so many reasons. The best way is to find out from the doctor.

mam,u av to do a culture test first to knw d type of bacteriA nd d. appropriate drugs or cream will b given,sori abt d discomfort and strictly follow mumi lovinam advice.

My BS... 5...

Got to the hospital at almost 1am, was given a bed space, and the doctor came to see me... He asked me if I was in pain (oh! that stupid question again!!! ), and I said no!
He asked me to lie down, placed his hand on my belly, trying to feel for the contractions, and he concluded that they were still BH contractions...
I got angry and asked if BH contractions could be 2 minutes apart and making me feel like pooing, and he replied that as long as I wasn't in pain, I wasn't in labor... He and the nurse started laughing at me, telling me that I didn't know anything, that nobody would tell me that I was in labor... I almost lost it...

He then said he was going to do a VE, and then I started crying, cos I knew how painful it would be...
Fear crept in, and just then did I feel the 1st wave of pain from my contractions, and that was when "Mr Know All" finally agreed that I was in labor...

I tried casting out the fear, and somehow, the pain subsided...
I was still crying and begging him not to do a VE, so he asked the nurse to call my hubby, so he could pacify me...
Hubby came, tried talking to me and calming me down, and then I felt a huge gush and announced to them that my water had just broken...
The doctor looked down to try and see how much water there was, but it wasn't water at all...
It was all BLOOD!!!
MY PLACENTA HAD JUST RUPTURED!!!

I should have been due on the 27th of June, but I was already too tired from the weight of my baby and all the pain I was feeling, so I prayed and started to try out natural induction methods...


And then Tuesday (21st), the day that all hell was meant to break loose, came...

lol on the bag of rice. my boy refused to sleep since morning, if i lay him, he will wake and start crying . i carried him on my body to morning and afternoon food, then i needed to shower , i lay him and ignore him, he was shouting on top of his voice,i ignored him till i was through, i now carried him and breastfed him he just went to sleep straight without petting.as i am tying now , he is still asleep, 2hours now and still counting. thanks for the advice

Nazablossom keep putting your baby on his tummy even if he cries leave him there a few minutes everyday it will help with the stomach gas and eventually teach him how to have head and shoulder control, he will be fine.

This Enkaydewdrop 's BS don giv me cold o chai. Anyways *readjusts sit, put hand to support cheek and sticks to phone with eyes wide open* season 6 ..........load...i...n....g..........

The doctor screamed "Aaaaaah!!! This is PLACENTA PREVIA" in the most local accent I've ever heard (lol) and called the consultant immediately to come down for a cesarean section... I didn't want to look down at the soaked nightingale on the bed, cos I didn't want to be afraid... God just helped me to be calm all through...

I was given a pad to wear, and I told them I wanted to go ease myself, by the time I got to the toilet, the pad was full and I had to wear another one...

I was taken downstairs for a scan, and we realised that my baby was already trying to come out, and was pushing and pressing his head on the placenta, which caused it to rupture... (and the yeye doctor said I wasn't in labor before oh... Smh)...

The consultant came in with the anesthesiologist, they gave me a gown to wear and explained everything that was going to happen, surprisingly, I was very calm and was even laughing, cos I knew God had my back and was in total control... Up to this point, I still hadn't felt my baby move...

With each contraction I had, I kept losing blood...
We moved into the theatre, and the devil kept telling me I wasn't going to come out alive, and I kept rejecting it...

The process began, and I was hopeful... I knew exactly when my boy was brought out, but I didn't hear him make a sound and I became scared... And the next thing I heard was "the meconium is too thick, it's just too thick," and that was when I realised why I didn't feel my baby move all day---He was in distress...

After a few minutes, I heard him cry, I smiled and heaved a sigh of relief...
Then they began working on me... I heard that CS for first timers isn't usually up to an hour, but mine took almost two hours... I got into the theater at 3am and came out at 5am...
They told me that they had to do a lot of work on me... I'm still feeling a lot of pain, but I thank God everything went well, cos it was a close call...

So, please my sisters:::::::

1...Always do a scan or several scans and pay attention to the results...
I was the one mitchyy was referring to when she said you should scan and rescan to be very sure of the results, to avoid stories that touch...
I did a scan at 36 weeks, and was told I no longer had placenta previa, but at 39 weeks, I had a ruptured placenta, due to placenta previa... If I had done another scan after 36 weeks, all the stress could have been avoided...

2...Always pay close attention to your body... Try as much as possible to be at an alert, so you'll know when something is wrong...
Trust and follow your instincts...
If I hadn't figured out that there was a difference between my BH contractions and real contractions, even though they were painless, I probably wouldn't be here today, telling this story...

3...Don't let anyone tell you that labor has to be painful... If you feel you're having contractions and they are not painful, head to the hospital... It's better for them to check you and be sure and send you back home, than for you to lose your baby or worse due to negligence... Let them send you home 10 times, it far better... Go to the hospital and disturb them, it is what you're paying for...
I was in painless labor from Sunday till Wednesday morning... And they kept telling me I had to feel pain to be in labor... What if I kept listening to them? What if God didn't keep my baby and I?
I keep wondering what the story would have been today, if I had stayed at home for 30 more minutes before going to the
hospital, or if I had stayed at home the entire night...

4...I've said it here before, and I'll say it again, don't ever feel bad or less of a woman if you're told you'll have to do CS to get your baby out... As long as that precious God-given gift comes to you, alive and healthy, to hell with whatever procedure he/she comes into the world through...
CS is a life saving procedure and we should even be thankful that it exists...
CS or not, be grateful for the special gift God gives to you...

5...Last, but not the least, never ever joke with prayers... No matter how weak you are, a quiet and simple "help me God" can go a very long way in your situation... Always ask for the grace of God...
Always pray!!! Never stop praying!!!


I pray for easy and miraculous delivery for all remaining moms here and the gift of the fruit of the womb for all ATC mamas too... May God put huge smiles on your faces in no distant time... Amen!!!
