Though i noticed my "time spent online" counter wasnt working well, since despite being active on Nairaland for almost three years (2013) now, it still says have only spent 29 days 17hours (as at last week).


Not that it mattered, but arouse my curiosity each i see it there. At a point, i had to check other peoples profile to gauge their own counter against mine and i was surprised to see people that has barely spent a year, with far lesser topics and lesser post as well conveniently rocking "1 month and 17days". That arouse my curiosity the more. What could possibly be seun's metrics ?




However this morning , all my doubts got cleared. It is now very obvious something is wrong with the counter algorithm. i checked my profile and i was surprised to see my "time spent online" to be 2hours 56 mins. I just couldnt laff out loud



To avoid further confusion, i need to ask seun lalasticlala mynd44 dominique farano rocktation.....

HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE ??

I think the counter is reset whenever you log off online. This is also possible with Nigeria's unstable network - fluctuating upandan.
So, basically, me thinks your time online is a definition of how long you are connected to Nairaland (on the go - OTG) and not how long you are registered with Nairaland.

What am saying here is that have been much online than some folks close to me with even lesser stats yet ,them seem favored with the counter . And for it to just change to 2hours 45min in a forthnight also prooves my doubt that the counter algorithm is actually dysfunctional. Only seun can understand this.
