Let me say this is a gross abuse of power. Is it only kogi state that is owing backlog of salary ? Virtually all south west states(except lagos) and some northern states re owing staffs. Its the office of the Governor that owes and not Mr. Yahya Bello. He should not be denied his constitutional right to travel to Saudi for lesser hajj. After all he was not travelling on official assignment but for personal ,for which he is to foot all expenses from his purse and ntg kogi state govt. purse. The likes of Aregbesola,Ayo fayase, olusegun mimiko, ibikunle amosun and ajumobi, all are debtors n have been travelling abroad. Why is bello case exceptonal? or is it part of APC agenda that the Governor of any state owning workers shud be disallowed from travelling abroad. I Hereby advise Prof. Osinbanjo that beheading the head is the solution to headache. he needs to reverse his decision. GOVERNOR YAHYA BELLO must be allowed to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform his obligation as a Muslim. Over to you zombies |

thunder74:am sorry to insult u. But, are u Mad? I mean, are u PLAIN, F*C.KING MAD? Do you know what it means to be the chief security officer of the state? The governor is the chief security officer. Where is his sense of priority? his state is in crisis. Salaries have not been paid. Pots of food is being stolen from the fire while still cooking, people eat amala with red oil alone (the depth of poverty, depravity and hunger) and a governor could still find the funds to go on on something as unimportant as a lesser hajj (YES, I SAID UNIMPORTANT B'COS AM SURE THIS IS NOT HIS FIRST TIME OF GOING FOR THE HAJJ) where is his sense of priority, leadership and probity? I repeat my question: are u Plain fuckin.g mad or are u just daft? Once again, sorry for insulting u. dont forget this is a first time governor that should be seeking to impress his people. if he is already this bad, what will he do in his second tenure? 4 Likes |

bejeiodus: Which constitution are you talking about? You see, the problem with Nigerians is we don't read, we don't find out real issues but open our mouths always to blab. All governors and ministers are supposed to get clearance from the Presidency before travelling. Try and make proper use of your brain, its lying fallow. 1 Like |

phemmyutd:The question is 'does the president have the constitutional powers to stop a sitting governor from travelling'. That is the pertinent question this whole issue if true, is raising. It is important to note that the unrestrained exercise of power is the classical definition on tyranny. If the President has overstepped his boundaries, that is clearly a ground for impeachment of the President. Can someone take an oath with the Koran to abide by the provisions of the 1999 constitution during the swearing in exercise, and then turn around less than 14 months into his tenure to start denigrating the constitution which is the only basis for him to be in Aso-Rock. Would the President claim not to know what was in the constitution when he was taking his oath of office? It is important for the national assembly and judiciary to synergize in rising up to their responsibilities in the defense of our constitutional democracy before anarchy becomes the order of the day. |

Every goddamn thing the governor and his family does in that office is paid for by the state. please stop this sycophancy and get a life. This governors need to be called to order in a very drastic way. It does not harm to start from yahaya bello 1 Like |

To move dis country 4ward dre is need 2 encourage positive values in leadership, dis country is 2 backward 4 God's sake. Ekweremadu was quick to write Europe & America coz of his trial but failed to learn from d same people dat respect 4 rules is paramount in leadership, at least Jefferson didn't write Nigeria wen he was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment after bribing Atiku, check treads & u will see people hailing him, i wonder if dey don't know we r destroying r Society by encouraging bad leadership values. dat is nt d subject here but a recent example, governors & heads of states in countries we always run to 4 help will cancel official trips 4 one-tenth of wat is going on in kogi state, but r dear governor chose a religious trip wen he has not resolved a 3months old ASUU strike, Labour has just declared strike, banks refused 2 render services as a result of unreasonable executive decision & lots more going on in kogi state, am very sure some hospital patients would have died 4 lack of funds, how many examples can i imagine, yet sm persons problem is federal govt order dat d said governor shd go resolve issues in his state. If d governor in question is forced 2 do d right thing who benefits, d president or people of kogi state? If not dat wen d guilty suffers' d innocent shares of it, i wud av said a chunk of Nigerians doesn't deserve gud leadership. |

I work in a federal govt parastatal, to be precise, a parastatal under the ministry of Sci and tec, and I'm being owed. Dnt say what you dnt know or dnt say what u r seeing from a painted picture. |
