I'm of the honest opinion that PSC might have lost the data base for specialist recruitment.

I'm watching NTA now, and the chairman of Federal Civil Service commission is commending PSC for successful completion of first the stage of recruitment.

Talking about the specialist applicants... I don't think that there be a provision to apply under specialist if dey don't intend recruiting through that means as well. Secondly, I also don't think it's just a big coincidence that everyone who applied under specialist wasn't or rather hasn't been invited (correct me if I'm wrong). I want to believe that there is a plan for those who applied under specialist which we don't yet know about. So guys be patient and hopeful.. Don't let frustration and desperation kill you unnecessarily. I'm also a specialist applicant and I'm hopeful!

In police, specialist is referred to those that have skills such as Tailoring, Driving, Cook & Steward, Plumbing, Washing & Dry Cleaning Services, etc. Mostly, they mainly fall under rank & file not cadet. Then from there, d will grow and be promoted.

But applicants here on this thread see it as people with professional course/certificates such as Doctors, Accountants, Lawyers, etc. This made me to be somehow confused by the whole thing.

Controversial policeman, Mbu Joseph Mbu; the Head of Zone 2 Command, Bala Hassan; former Ekiti State Commissioner, Kalafite Adeyemi; and former Head of the Special Fraud Unit, Johnson Ogunsakin, were among the 21 Assistant Inspectors General of Police retired on Friday from the Force.
The announcement of their retirement was made by the Police Service Commission.
According to a statement by the spokesman of the Commission, Ikechukwu Ani, the AIGs were retired because they are senior in standing to the recently appointed Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
The statement said: “The Police Service Commission has approved the retirement of 21 Assistant Inspectors General of Police who were senior to the new acting Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, before his appointment.”
The Chairman of the PSC, Sir Mbam Mike Okiro, wished the affected officers well in their future endeavours.
As exclusively reported during the week by The Eagle Online, some of the affected officers has made frantic efforts to stop their being retired from the Force.

What is wrong with you? Can you read well? Did you see the application at all? Do you know that various positions were spelt out for the online submission?

Just so you know, specialist positions were spelt out: Medical Doctor, Vet. Doctors/Animal Handlers/Mounted Troops, Engineers, etc.

U don't have to come here and make mockery of yourself in a way of correcting people. Specialists will train for 9 months (it was 6 months in 2009) but the whole cycle changed in 2011 when specialists spent 9 months in training school and general duties spent 18 months as against 12 months in 2009. Not 3 months as you have claimed.

Get your facts right, i applied as a specialist (Vet Doctor/Animal Handlers/Mounted Troops) with a Bachelors degree in Zoology and a double barrelled Masters degree in Environmental Management and Protection because i'm aware that i fall under animal handler in Force Animal Department, police dog section!

Hmmmm! Mr dumblist or whatever u tag yourself...so u are trying to tell me that the engineering profession I applied to under specialist was done out of ignorance? Young man on this platform as regard to NPF 2016 recruitment,engineering, law,medicine was categorically listed under specialist. So please consider the contest of my statement before you tag me as been proud to be corrected. Am ain't a dummy to have applied under specialist as an Engineer.
And please mind your choice of words you use on people next time.

Hey, what the other guy mentioned are called trades men not specialist. so my friend is right

i'm going to say dis only once. specialists are going to do only one screening and dats going to b at d zonal level - and yes, specialists are taken from diverse cadre, ranging from engineering to driving. hopefully invites would start rolling frm nxt week. c u at d top guys!

.. Too bad. English language is a very important problem amongst people here. Na wah. If you are "educated " enough to think specialists are drivers and cleaners then good luck to you. Remember to return your certificate to your school if you have one. Specialists can only be screened by specialists in the zones an officer irrespective of rank that studied psychology can't assess a lawyer for an example . They are waiting for the selected or successful general duty about to be officers and men to join them for screening and they : the specialists stop at the zones while the others proceed to the head quarters . Pardon punctuation errors.
