ExLaidback:
A little word of advice to newbies on this thread.

Most people here post or talk a lot about their gains and not so much about their loses.

In my own very little experience, slow and steady is a very good strategy for this game especially if you're a rookie. In fact it's just as good if you're accomplished.

As the saying goes, even a blind pig would occasionally find some truffle, so when you make 30% on a trade you smartly entered without DD or because some fella on here whom you respect was screaming buy! buy!! buy!!! You'd soon lose it all or even more.

N.B: Don't read this now and say 'ah! EXLaidback is a guru, let me send him an inbox'. Nothing I've said above is new, I'm just a learner o. grin

Study to show yourself approved! wink By the way, hope I haven't dampened anyone's spirit because there's still money to be made this year.

Good one. Where does one begin the learning from?

If you click 'NSE Live' on marketwatch.ng, you will see a mysterious 'dangflour', ever trading at 1.87.
The webmaster might wish to explain which stock is this, their biz, and directors.

its this kind of '7down' result that deflates the market.

but they tried since their end year is march 31st but people are still expecting oando,Skye, stanbic, conoil whose year end is December.

what a pity.

Sir, As from third quarter of this year CBN will take a very tough sanction on any company listed on the NSE delaying result without any reasonable justification. They want to ensure utermost transparency and accountability cool

Well Sir,

Investopedia is a repository of knowledge. At least 70% of your questions will be answered there. Secondly this NSEMPA thread is a must for someone willing to learn too. It's not always about JIJO, as this thread has good news and insights (and for this, God bless all the gurus in the house). Lastly, experience will fill the most crucial and critical gap, for nothing good comes easy.

Cheers

Hummm for a referandum entry @#1.5 transcorp can brexit effect give it that much draw back? Or the new referandum will be better?

Oando @ #6 not too sure but we watch and see.
whats dis brexit noise about? What is killing us here is over analylsis. Every gadem event is juxtaposed with d market fluctuations. If buhari decides to eat ewedu instead of tuwo shinkafa, we start seaching for d effect on d market.

I'm not sure what you mean but this market na real the more you look the less you see. FBNH was on almost full bid right from start of trade this morning! Bid was at 22M+ while offer was a mere 400k+ yet the price no cross 3.99. I placed a trade at 4.1 and it wasn't placed in the market. So except like 21M out of the 22M bids were by one person who placed limit price of less than or equal to 3.99, i really don't get why there wasn't a further increase in trading price.

At 3.99, it was at the maximum possible gain for the day (5%). When I noticed the bid, I checked and saw it was at full 5%, unlike others that could not round up, due to previous close calculation. You will see 4.XX% most places.

Yeah it was at the maximum limit price, but I thought that when proper trading starts, with such a huge bid/offer ratio it will break the 5% limit since the overall ceiling is 10%?

B4 a stock can gain max 10% in a day, it must gain5% during pre-mkt . the price becomes the opening price. then another 5% of the opening price when floor opens.
If it didnt gain 5% during premkt, it can't just gain 10% when the real trading starts
