Pls guys is it cool telling the vo that my uncles church in newyork is sponsoring me and how can I even get research topics and scholarship. Confirm that in writing before u leave oo or else hunger and frustration fit enter ooo . For tax reporting of a non profit makes me say u really need to be sure what they will sponsor for u. So u know how to plan urself and not get a shocker .... Back to the question yes it ok but u need documentation to prove the sponsorship if asked at interview official letter from the organisation and others. So when asked it is not my uncle church but xx church or the official name. How did you get it. The church has a sponsorship program and my name was recommended by my uncle and i passed the selection process 1 Like |

I dont think the issue is that you applied to one school , it is Do you have a reasonable explanation to why you applied to this School only . If you have a good logic behind it then there is no problem .
Also a serious student ideally should apply to more than one school.... Because who puts all their eggs in one basket , if you are determined to go to school this fall and apply to only one school. If that school doesn't give you admission ...Then you just wasted a full semester as you have to wait for the next admission circle .
It like saying you are applying for job only in one company, who does that ..Definitely not a serious Job applicant when dey find work
i think its also a cultural thing because Ideally if you grew up in the US, Americans rarely apply to only one school U see intelligent competitive student applying to all the IVY leagues at once except if they is a logically reason .. . Maybe all your generations are Yale graduate and you must attend only Yale .Fine but you see here there is a sentimental reason to it. If it that you want to remain in a state to claim instate tuition, there usually more than one university in a state . . Nigeria Jamb system is one school but their system they apply to multiple programs to get the best fin aid package and then choose . Even during recruitment time, U see students with 3 job offers they will still be hustling for more interview so they can pick and choose from options Pls i have a question? I stumbled upon this thread and I have really learnt a lot. I applied for F1 visa on the 17th of dis month and I wasn't given visa. My question is... The person that helped me out with the process, said i can reapply in July that it all depends on the consular discretion to give visa or not cos the school will be resuming in Aug but my mum's friend said i shouldn't reapply due to the duration (a month). That there's 80% chance of me not being given the visa because even if I meet another consular, he might not want to overrule the previous consular decision. He said I should confirm if the school has a session starting in January den i should defer till then, travel to anoda country then reapply in December. Am quite confused right now, advice needed. Thanks.. |

Me: Then mentioned that I choose murray cos the program i am going for has been accredited by an accreditation body known as Abet and Asac while the other uni d ms program hasn't been approved by d accreditation body. 4. Why did u apply to a school dat hasn't been approved. Me: Explained that it was during my research I found out after applying. 5. When did you graduate from the university? Me: 2011... 6. He started going thru my passport (without asking me any question)to see if i ve any travel experience. When he didn't see any stamp on it. He said sorry cant giv u visa blablabla, reapply.
Now my question is... Sorry about your delay.. Well I have seen applicants who refire back within 2-3 weeks and got their visa so if you do your home work very well and you refire back am sure you will get the visa. Also deferring till spring semester is also a good idea but if you are to do that just apply to another school that will grant you at least 50% funding or scholarship because that alone will boost your chance and do not use agent this time around. Is that clear If you don't write GRE or toefl before just get set and ready to write it because that is part of what will help you to get funding or scholarship with a good sop. Also try as much as possible to get a good and unique reasons why you choose the school and course because that alone will show your intention of going to study in USA.. Wishing you all the best in your next interview 1 Like |

Assuming you 'stumbled' on this thread before now you would understand that you don't need any agents whatsoever, in fact the only help you will need is someone who will pay your sevis fee. And that's why you were not able to answer why you chose a particular school. My advice is there is still time to reschedule for interview and do your homework, read this thread thoroughly even if it's only this part. It helped most of us here and you might even find someone who applied to your school. And pls whether its this year or next year, do not use agents. 3 Likes |
