This topic https://www.nairaland.com/3196627/united-emirates-airline-stop-flights that made the front page this morning should at least have been verified considering the weight of it before pushing it to that prime space.

Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways are my standard options whenever I plan to travel to Naija; and given that I am in the process of one, my curiosity increased the moment I saw that thread. Thus I logged on to Emirates website to verify the news for myself. The attached proves beyond doubt that Emirates has not stopped flying to and from Nigeria. The booking is for September 15 to October 6 as can be seen on the attached.

The source of the news on that thread (Afriwap.com) is sadly a random blog which cannot even compete with Nairaland in terms of brand quality and reach. How Nairaland usually fails to verify news coming from these wacky blog sites beats any common sense. Nairaland should naturally be their go-to site for news and not the other way round.

I hope Seun will work to arrest this unfortunate trend that is likely to impact negatively on his brand.

A toddler reasons and acts better than this.

Your behaviour on this forum shows you're the worst wailing zombie here.

Verifiable facts are laid bare before you but since the damage caused by the election loss of the Ineffectual Buffoon is permanent, you can't be redeemed.

Flights haven't been STOPPED. The frequency has just been reduced from 2 daily flights to 1. Effective July 1.

Plus that single flight will probably get more expensive.

Zombie = Buhari supporters
Wailer = ANTI Buhari

You gave us name, we accepted it in good faith, We gave you name, You don't want to accept, in fact, you want to lump it together with the one you gave us; Who does that??... A zombie.

By the way, Anytime you talk about election loss, It shows you have nothing tangible to say, Election that took place more than a year ago?... Wey everybody don forget.

Start getting used to the fact that mumu the son of Hari the dullardeen is the president now, AND as it is, He's a monumental failure, See you trying to defend a failure. Shame.

Well, that remains to be seen.

The point is that flights haven't been stopped. They might have been reduced. We'll know on July 1.

The news that says flights have been stopped is DEFINITELY FALSE is flights have not been stopped.

The reduction is surely a result of intense competition from new entrants such as Etihad. It definitely will affect Emirates since Etihad is from UAE as well and have eaten into the market share of, not only Emirates but also Qatar Airways.
