Look At What I Saw This Morning As I Opened My Whatsapp! What's the essence of a phone without whatsapp application? I use whatsapp on my BlackBerry Z30 and opened my whatsapp application to reply messages and got this like a notice board message; WhatsApp support for mobile devices As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. At the end of 2016, we will no longer support the following platforms: BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10 Nokia S40 Nokia Symbian S60 Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 Windows Phone 7.1 iPhone 3GS/iOS 6 These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp. Once you have one of these devices, simply install WhatsApp and verify your phone number on the new device to continue using WhatsApp. Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time. There is currently no option to transfer your chat history between platforms. However, we provide the option to send your chat history attached to an email. Learn how to export your chat history on: Android | iPhone | Windows Phone | Nokia S40 | BlackBerry | Nokia S60 | BlackBerry 10 Cheers, WhatsApp Support Team 3 Likes 3 Shares |

I still don't understand why WhatsApp wants to end BB10 support, There are still people out there using this platform.. BlackBerry only have themselves to blame, They made bbm exclusive and were a bit arrogant and proud of that till WhatsApp came on board.. This decision will probably kill off BlackBerry completely.. 73 Likes 3 Shares |

They already stopped on bb5,6 and 7. Most bb10 supports android apps so I don't think that should be a problem. 5 Likes 1 Share |

49cents: In as much as we console ourselves that blackberry 10 runs like android, it can never be like an android with it still having blackberry application world platform unlike android OS phones with Google play application which has unlimited access to applications. Also blackberry application world is rigid on access to applications. 5 Likes |

Earth2Metahuman: I dunno why they decided to make this decision at this moment when almost everyone is falling in love with whatsapp. I guess they just want these phones phased away so people can start chasing to own high end phones like iphone 5 upwards and the likes of the recent Samsung phones.. I wonder what happens to blackberry passports, Porsche and other high end blackberrys people spend a lot of money in acquiring. Bad market.. 3 Likes |

49cents: Blackberry Z30 has got android OS 5.1 though, but still uses blackberry application world, would have been nicer with the Google play application platform. 4 Likes |

ayoshyne:I don't think so. I think most of the new features that whatsapp is dishing out don't support this old operating systems. Its like trying to all these new 3D games like GTAV or FIFA 15 which requires special and latest software to install on window 98, you know its not gonna work. 16 Likes 1 Share |

This most certainly will tell on blackberry devices, i just hope blackberry learns quick and starts making both low end, mid end and high end android phones, they should first regain back the market place by making a highend android and selling it for a cheap or mid price... 3 Likes 1 Share |

why are you all screaming like it's only blackberry that will be affected? Besides, it was stated clearly why these platforms won't be supported anymore. These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of theseaffected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp. Get an update or get a new device before the end of 2016 or stop using whatsapp all together...it's that simple. 4 Likes |

What a shocking news. What this means is that those running on symbian s60 should discard their devices in the refuse dump and likewise devices running on lower versions of Android and bb10 if they must continue to use WhatsApp. Now i understand why my gf demanded an android phone. 3 Likes 1 Share |
